I'm talking about Opeth, Blackwater Park is just the album name.
By the way, listened to everything, I'm very impressed. Time to be a cheap fuck and download.

omfglol
Should just have googled the name...
Just downloaded a Kylesa EP and an entire Torche album.
Yum, sludge.
Here I am, bored with everything.

Dude, schwing! That's some nice swag there, easily tops my shitty Gojira plectrum :(.
Plectrums are still metal <3
Also I may as well mention that the Whitechapel stick got taken off me while I was fighting for the Haake one.
Shit is so metal, I'm gonna frame it.
Also, best setlist ever:
Electric Red
Bleed
Closed Eye Visuals
Pravus
Stengah
Combustion
Lethargica
Rational Gaze
Sane
Straws Pulled At Random
Future Breed Machine
Jens took a photo of the crowd with his own camera as well, I hope I'm in the photo.

If he stepped back just a little more I'd be in it. The guy in the bottom left, 2 people over (can't see me obviously), that's where I am.

Can't wait for that crowd man. Sydney would always go off though. Rich cunts, you are, eh, eh.
Sorry guys, a bit fucking high. Usually I'd find a band to rant and use the word love a lot.
I know, YOB. YOB are fucking sick and are still relatively underground. Like Opeth used to be as underground as YOB until Blackwater Park. Fuck YOB are cool. Their new album is really cool. Fuckin YOB man.
Agh shit, my post, it's been cut in half.
AniMetal, My Arms Your Hearse is better than Watershed, Deliverance and Damnation. Way easy. Nev knows what he's talking about.

I'm attending the same festival this Monday in a different city. I'm going to see Meshuggah aswell, and now I have this shit to live up to? He set the bar so high! I'm going to have to like, get drunk with Neil Fallon to beat that shit.

I listen to Kylesa too. It's nice to find a band with a lengthy catalogue. Their music is nice and angry without being fag-metal. I like stoner sludge so much better though. Except Dystopia. Dystopia is way better than Kylesa, on this uuuuu can trust me.

I've not heard of them.
I do have a Torche album though. Not listened to.
Meanderthal its called.

Well depends on the song.
I mean - April Ethereal, When and Demon of the fall are three of Opeth's best songs but the rest of the album is sort of mih.
As the other three albums are entirely comprised of good(but not great) songs.
I suppose it's personal preference.

No, the album itself is greater than those albums themselves, by far. Although Watershed is great.
But their old drummer sounds better to me. No offense to the mighty AXE.

The Amen Corner, Credence, and Karma are the only other complete songs, and they're all brilliant. All far superior to songs found on Ghost Reveries and Watershed. Nev is right, MAYH and Still Life are really the only necissitieseiseisei I can never spell that shit. Although the earlier albums are cool. I love the black metal feel on Orchid. And I love how when I listen to 'Black Rose Immortal' I can't even tell it's Opeth for the first minute. It's so good! Man, their quality decreased once it hit 2000. Ugh, I just listened to some Watershed, it is NO WHERE NEAR the majesty of My Arms, Your Hearse.
Why do bands have to get worse :(
I bet Melvins don't. They're too fucking cool. And YOB. They are still MIGHTY.
At 2/23/10 08:08 AM, PenisClown wrote: No, the album itself is greater than those albums themselves, by far.
This.
Besides When and Demon of the Fall I don't think any song on MAYH is worth listening to on its own, but as an album from start to finish it just flows beautifully.
I think all the songs are good, if not great, but they work better in the context of the album.
Why do bands have to get worse :(
Cuz Roadrunner.

Death didn't either, although its debatable I think they improved with each album... kinda... they at least got equally as good in different ways.

I tried listening to a few songs from their new album but nothing stood out well for me so I didn't pre-order it. If it's really worth getting, then I'll have a further look but maybe I need to consider the other albums I don't have. Right now, I just have Nattfodd and Trollhammeren EP.

Well, when it comes to the music, Nattfodd and Jaktens Tid are much better. The album is a totally different approach then anything they've ever done though, so if you like their folky stuff, you'd probably not like it anyway. It was kinda like Swashbuckle meets Five Finger Death Punch-esque Groove metal. Really weird, but it was good nonetheless. I actually found it to be interesting, since they usually stick to their folk sounds and instruments, rather then go off on their metal. It was a pleasent change, but I still think it's one of their weaker albums.

False.
Those three songs are all mediocre to Opeth standards.
Also, Blackwater park is a band also.
Some german rock band, they are known enough to have a wikipedia article.
Also, best picture ever.
Hey guyz...does anyone know the band Sylosis???
Because this band look like a Melodeath band. The song called: After Lifeless Years remind me the old melodeath stuffs who isn't similar to ''Core'' music.
However, am I the only one who think that listening Xasthur for too long can be dangerous for our mental health loll???...I like their stuff, but if you listen to them, you better not feel suicidal this day!

Sylosis are sex.
Me and my mate met some of the band members are Bonecrusher too, they're cool guys.

Sylosis and threat signal's first album are the only groups you could consider 'core' that I like.
Although you could argue that both groups are melodic death metal as well.
And i've read some fucking depressing lyrics, sylosis are pretty tame in that regards.

Rofl! That's good.
Way to much deathcore bullshit going on in this thread. This thread is supposed to be about real fucking heavy metal! Deathcore is nothing more than mushed sweep picking and a high drummer who can't play for shit so he has to muffle the shit out of his kit and rape it. Not to mention terrible singers with horrible voices who try to make their voices sound all brutal by doing gay inhale/exhale/growl shit.
FUCK deathcore.
Discuss.

A surprisingly large amount of dildos are marketed as "personal massagers." You can usually tell when they say something like "waterproof" or "washable" on them. At the 7/11 near my school, which my friends and I frequent, there are vibrating "massage pens"-basically, just inconspicuous sex toys.

And melodic death metal is crap too.
You may not like it, but we're going to keep talking about it because some people like it and we're the Metal Hell and we talk about metal, regardless of genre. Tons of people here don't like it (myself, Nev, Idio, and so on), but we're not being little teenage bitches about it. Just start a conversation about something you like, rather than shitting blood about something you don't like.

Not too sure about them, they sound core-ish. Again, it's just melodeath that borders with metalcore, which goes a little too far.
