Nope, Bill was talking about it a while ago when the album was leaked. I've pre-ordered the CD so I expect to get it next Monday. Speaking of Fear Factory's new album, the album cover reminds me of the tentacles from Half-Life.

Id rather have your flail Bahamut.

I've been meaning to see that. The only Bergman film I've seen so far is Wargtimmen, which, honestly, I didn't quite understand. There's a whole bunch of movies that I should have seen forever ago that I still haven't gotten around to seeing. My Netflix queue is maxed out. Well, I think I'll bump that one up to the top. It's about time I watched it.
So, Idio. Bought another ticket for Ms. Heap. This one isn't until November so its a long way away from the gig on Sunday (oh yeah ;)), but its an the Royal Albert Hall in London - same place as that Opeth gig, right Bahamut? - so it could be fucking amazing! I'm expecting an orchestra for sure, and as its Bonfire Night, maybe some fireworks :).
Also... Metal.

They're all cancer patients. Yep, that's right. Every single fucking Spartan was a cancer patient, therefore unable to fight. The Vikings were immune to cancer, therefore they were more badass :D :D :D

Yep, that's the very same venue I'm going to in April. That reminds me, only two months left and I'm even more excited for it after hearing all the Opeth albums. Me and my sister have speculated Black Rose Immortal to be played there and I really hope they do play it.

No, you're not. I'm not very into Fear Factory, but I like some musics. Also Dino has been, in a lot of shit, Brujeria, Divine Heresy, Nailbomb... and he stills fat...
Oh, and I hope this album have, some heavy and aggressive shit.

Even riddled with cancer, an ancient Spartan warrior would kill you with his toes. Even with his whole body paralyzed, his balls would get up and drag the rest of him forward. his huge, freakish steel balls.
But yeah, we all like vikings. Are they new to you or something?

I meant that as in " they're not a main genre" .
But this may sound stupid, can anyone recommend some black metal that isn't completely in your face obnoxious? So far I really only listen to Venom. But yeah, more subtle black metal.
After some random downloading I have 7 credits left on emusic, can anyone please recommend a short (preferable 7 or less track) metal album?
I mostly listen to metalcore, progressive, deathcore, thrash, black, death and power.
Much appreciated :)

Venom = / = black metal
Seriously.

How the hell is Venom not black metal?

More thrashy. It's vocal style is not the high pitched black metal screech. It's more an early death growl style. And the production isn't bad enough.

Cause they are Heavy Metal? Way too thrashy and heavy metal-ish to be black metal...
this is the hell how they are not black metal :)

My understanding is that Venom are kinda pre-Black Metal. In that they inspired a lot of what Black Metal would become. Kinda like how you could call Sabbath Doom... they're not really, but kinda are too.
Venom are like proto-black metal, just as Black Sabbath are like proto-doom metal, and early Judas Priest were proto-power metal.
They aren't really black metal, but they laid the groundwork and therefore have a lot in common with it. I mean, they coined the fucking term, so they have to get some credit for that.
I'm not talking about current Black metal. more like pre-black metal. Almost like how Death isn't anything like the current death metal we have today.
Venom is what lead to Mayhem to black metal I consider them classic metal. There lyrics are what lead to black metals harsh content.

I completely agree with you. Venom is like the inspiration for all extreme metal, such as thrash, black, and death. Tempo= heavily inspires thrash. Lyrics= Heavily Inspires Black metal, and Vocals= More Guttural death style growls than anything at that time.

Which is why I don't think they're heavy metal. With the vocal and lyrical content they really can't be considered heavy. Also define Classical metal.
Mercyful Fate and Venom ARE black metal. Like Dent said, it'd be like not calling Sabbath doom. And you guys are forgetting a key aspect of why they are. Atmosphere.

I was of the impression that she spent more time playing over there is the States. All the live videos of her on Youtube and such are of her on the Letterman show and with Zach Braff, etc.
I've never seen such a video set over here.
Maybe she's just neglecting us all :'(.

Thinking about buying this guitarsoon.
What do you guys think? Any good? $795 AU.
This signature makes use of various clichés and/or 'emotional' lyrics/quotes, hopefully it makes me appear deep.
