No, BTBAM is NOT metal. At all.
They're deathcore.
HO HO HOPE you become a Newgrounds Supporter this year!
We're working hard to give you the best site possible, but we have bills to pay and community support is vital to keep things going and growing. Thank you for considering!

Not screamo, nowhere NEAR emo, maybe a hint of metalcore and deathcore, but I fail to hear any nu-metal.
That's what it really comes down to, so it doesn't matter. What do you guys think is the most metal NG level?

Level 40.
Look at that thing.

Funny you ask that as I've thought to myself what is the most metal level icon on Newgrounds. To me, nothing beats the skull axe. It just has that strong metal feel in it. The runner-ups are the battle axe and chainsaw.
Can't wait to get it this November.

They're deathcore with progressive metal influences(Dream Theater, Opeth, etc.)
Most metal ng level is FAB with level 59.
MANOWAR IS METAL

I stand corrected.

I'd say Progressive Metal with Deathcore influence :p
but either way they wouldn't sound too different

Hear, hear!
Also, BTBAM are progressive/technical metalcore/deathcore. I just got into an argument with a dude about them like two days ago, so I'm still pretty familiar with their sound. They're not that bad, and they're not as core as I expected. There were no breakdowns in any of the songs I listened to, but it's undeniably core at times.
Funny story involving BTBAM, i saw them live not too long ago when they opened up for In Flames
they ultimately sucked live and pretty much put the entire crowd to sleep, best part was the fact that they could only play 3 songs with theyre like 30 minute time slot, if i were to make up a genre for them id call them prog-core
metalcore with prog influences
I see some of you guys getting power and heavy confused. Manowar and King Diamond are heavy metal, not power metal.
the fuck happened to Ponos? he get deleted?

I prefer Minsk when it comes to that kind of atmosphere.
But they're completely different.

They aren't core at all.
Abigail Williams and The Black Dahlia Murder both are bands to have played core somewhere during their existence. Even if just core-influenced or whatever. They have core elements. I Worship Only What You Bleed by TBDM or The Departure by Abigail Williams both are melodic death/metalcore.
If you are influenced by core, at all, chances are you are shit.
Seing how you cannot spot core when you see, I will just ignore this part of your post.
As for your argument against the term "heavy metal"
I completely agree, the term is used way too broadly.
Thx mate :)

He's still around, I checked for his account and it still exists. He posted yesterday (you can see me respond to it on the last page; i say "nice to see you dude" or something), but his post was deleted. In that post, he said that he was banned for a while for calling us fags and stuff, and he called us fags in the same post, so I imagine that it was deleted for that same reason (and we can only assume he was banned again).
The most metal is definetly level 60. Why hasn't anyone created a Power song about a man ruling the universe like that? That would be epic if done correctly.
But about earlier, I just want to clarify:
I wasn't asking if Mastidon was heavy. (Lol @ Heaven's post, I just say that when they are normal metal, I classify Metal as the chest that holds all the genres inside of it.) I was just trying to provide examples of my argument, which seems like I'm not going to get anywhere with. So I give up. Haha.
Also, at song 10 of 20 in The Human Equation rite nao. I... There's precum in my jeans.
Hey guys, I want to find a band who is similar to the old Cryptopsy. Any idea???

I never even thought either of them were power metal. Manowar are traditional no doubt and while I haven't listened to much King Diamond (I know, I'm terrible at times), I can tell they're not power metal either. The one song of theirs I'm familiar with is Into the Coven and that kicks ass.

Surely there's got to be a song about it already. If not power metal then please let there be at least one metal (of any kind) song out there about the said subject.
Why can't I promote promiseing users to our great family?

It was clear he would get in, but I think it encourages other members to do that when the user in question might not actually be in. It's best left to duh horsemayuns.

Dystopia.
Grief.
Accept Death.
Buried at Sea.
You're welcome.
Unless of course you've heard them all before, then I'm just a tit :P... and as its you, you probably have.

Listening to their old stuff the best I can give you is Nile. They seem very alike to Nile, the vocals and such.
And yeah, new Cryptopsy sucks. Such a great band turning into deathcore. Makes me sick.

I like to look a them as 2 seperate band. There's the good one Cryptopsy, and then there's the band that released the Unspoken King, Flo Mounier and the Craptopsy's.
