Oh joy a 26% chance
im pretty sure id rather die anyway
Just got back from my mates third gig, they were supporting Vidna and Desolated, it was pretty fuckin awesome.
Their set was cut short though because one of the mics kept fuckin up (they have 2 vocalists) and the lead guitarists amp died, shitsux, didn't get to hear my favourite song :'(
Chaos In Her Wake were supposed to be supporting as well but their vocalist quit yesterday, so they pulled out :\
Also was kinda annoyed that there were so many emos there (black hair, long fringes, piercings, skinnies, you name it) and they were hardcore dancing >_> but i suppose at least they were enjoying the music, which is better than nothing.
There was a moshpit and a brief circle pit as well, quite amusing.
I love the atmosphere at these gigs, you feel like you can just go up and talk to anyone, it's awesome, like a brotherhood of metal :)
Apparently they're now supporting some christain metalcore band (lulz) at the end of the year, at the Norwich Waterfront, which is a huge step up for them, hopefully it goes ahead as that is fuckin awesome.

On the other hand, i've been listening to Dying Fetus lately, now more than ever. I mean, I always liked them and new of them, but now I'm really looking at all their stuff and all I can say is wow. What a great fucking band. Sound a lot like Nile.
Also, I have cancer

And yeah, new Cryptopsy sucks. Such a great band turning into deathcore. Makes me sick.
Nile, I'll listen it right now thx. I understand the point that Cryptopsy have lost
his style. Some other bands did the same :(

Cool man, be sure to give me some feedback. You could also try Dying Fetus, they sound similar to Nile as well.
Just got back from a 4 day Metal bender in Melbourne.
3 Nights of Amazingggg bands.
Night 1:
Edguy and Cynic
Both were fucking awesome, Cynic have a very relaxed stage presence but still manage to send everyone wild.
Edguy were just incredible one of the best live performances I've seen. Tobi is just the funnest guy ever.
Night 2:
Dark Funeral and Rotting Christ
Dark Funeral headlined, and they sucked... Boringest shit ever. Nuff said.
Rotting Christ however... DROOOOOOOL finally got to see my all time favourite band, front and center mosh went off.
Then got to meet the band afterwards (had after party passes for all the nights) Coolest bunch of guys I've ever met from a big band :D
Night 3:
Sonata Arctica and Ensiferum
Ensiferum were fantastic, really got the crowd going off, saw a few styrofoam swords in the pit too haha.
Sonata played really well, but for a metal band it was a very different experience, they talked about alot of emotional/close to the heart stuff like friendship and staying strong in times of stress.
Still they rocked so it was all good!
This signature makes use of various clichés and/or 'emotional' lyrics/quotes, hopefully it makes me appear deep.

try some Spawn of Posession, Anata, Gorod... ESPECIALLY Gorod. I've never really found a band that sounds anything like Cryptopsy, but those are the closest I can think of. Spawn are coming down here and i've gotta miss it... fucking work >:(
I have decided to finally look into Manowar, but I do not know where to start because I heard a lot of fans say that they have some sucky albums out there, a long with some great ones. Which albums should I start with?
Proud Demon residing in the METAL HELL!
Lay down your soul for the god's rock n' roll!

I recommend listening to Kings of Metal. Battle Hymns is another good album to listen to as well. There are still some Manowar albums I've yet to listen to so I'm not able to say anything about them (Into Glory Ride, Hail to England, Louder Than Hell and Warriors of the World).

Ugh. Im so jealous. I've wanted to see Ensiferum forever. Did they play Blood is the Price of Glory?

Yeah, they have been doing that for a while. Every album has a song title named after a girl (except Unia).
Really, one of my life goals is to save up and go to Graspop, Download or something of that nature in Europe.

Urgh, dude, don't go to Download. It's gone way down the pan. Limp Bizkit and Korn headlining all the time. And its way too expensive.
If you want a good British Metal fest, then go to Bloodstock. It's a lot cheaper and more intimate. Plus they get better bands headlining.
Graspop I can't comment on as I've never really looked into it. But Hellfest in France has had some fantastic line ups. And Wacken in Germany is THE Metal festival in the world... if I was going to travel overseas, really, I'd go there. If I can't do it this year, I definately intend to next year - though I've said that for the last 3 years :P.

I already introduced him to the world of Dying Fetus :P
Thanks to me.
And I can't see how Spawn Of Possession would sound like Cryptopsy in anyway :P
Both are (or were... in the case of... well you...) great bands though :)
Best music festivals:
Metal Camp
Wacken
Bloodstock
Annual Sweden Bash
Maryland Deathfest
Screamfest

I checked out the Wacken lineup... seems alright. Although does anyone honestly give a fuck about Motley Crue?
