Don't like it, that's fine. Your opinions are easily respected considering you're not being a dick about it unlike some...

Who can deny the gayness of Manowar? It doesn't mean it isn't fun to listen to them.

Sonata Arctica. I really don't like this flower metal type stuff. I liked some stuff like that when I was about 16 or 17, maybe until I was 18. I still like some power metal, but stuff like SA is not for me.

I'm kidding. I actually enjoy the first few albums of Manowar.

They do get old extremely fast, though.

I don't really have an opinion on them. They're bland. Alright, but nothing special - well, apart from White Pearl/Black Oceans.

Plus its fun to run with the 'they're gay' angle :).

My man. I think that was from my recommendation a while ago. ;)
Reckoning Night is their best album.

Ecliptica and Silence = Fucking win.

And White Pearls is probably the most boring song they have made IMO.

You take that back, you Texas Faggot.

As for Manowar being the msot cheesy, are you all forgetting about Rhapsody? Am I the only one who has heard Power of The Dragonflame and Holy Thunderforce?
Im almost embarrassed to show Rhapsody to others, because their immediate reaction before saying they love them is a GIGANTIC facepalm.

Honestly, I think cheese is the best part about Power Metal. Valley of the Damned is such a cheesy song, like all other DF songs, and it gets me so fucking pumped every time I listen to it. I feel like I'm charging into battle against a bunch of mythical creatures from hell. I know the popular position is to hate Dragonforce(Mostly for it's obnoxious fans, let's admit it), but I absolutely love everything about them, guys.

I'm listenning to the album Ars Talionis - The Art Of Retaliation by the french Black Metal band Balrog. It's a fucking brutal and awesome black metal record. If you like Black Metal, you gotta listen to this album, it is simply amazing !!! Usually black metal bands tend to play repetitive riffs but Balrog just isn't that kind of band. Still, they couldn't be more black metal than they are :)

Agree.
But Rhapsody album artwork isn't half as embarrassing as Manowar's.

Yes, it is. Thats what separates Power from every other genre. The cheesy trumpets, falsettos, etc.

I don't see how them existing is spiting any band ever. Their songs also don't sound exactly the same. Do they have the EXACT same notes and lyrics as the rest of their songs? No, they do not. So shut up. Many many people can tell the difference between Dragonforce's songs. I doubt you have listened to more than 5 Dragonforce songs all the way through ever. They are a perfectly competent and enjoyable band to listen to, and just because they were on a videogame doesn't discredit them as a band. That's horse shit. Give me one good reason why they aren't a good band. I bet you I can show you your only beef with them are groundless popular beliefs.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA no.

There are a ton of power metal bands that aren't like Hammerfall, Dragonforce, etc.

I doubt even half of power metal bands have falsetto vocalists as well.

How so?

For one, i've seen them twice live and they suck ass.

(There singer is pretty good though, I admit)

Their songs also don't sound exactly the same. Do they have the EXACT same notes and lyrics as the rest of their songs? No, they do not. So shut up.

I'VE SEEN THEM, TWICE.

Once with Cynic last year and once with Sonata Arctica, two fucking months ago.

Also, Nev they were popular before GH BUT they were NOT popular in the mainstream audience.

Three times. And they sucked "ass" each time.

But their first two (three at a stretch) are decent enough albums, and despite all DFs flaw, they're alright for listening to.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA no.

Their performances have improved much more since they first started touring big in 2006, you should have seen them recently. But you can't for a while. They aren't having any shows in 2010.

And yes, you said their songs sound EXACTLY THE SAME. So that means they would have to be note for note the same song. But they aren't. Saying they sound similar is the appropriate phrase.

They were gigantic over the internet before Guitar Hero came out, they only difference that game made was that teeny boppers were exposed to their music. The game has nothing to do with their cred.
