Sonata Arctica has a fucking KEYTAR. Somehow they make it pretty metal though. They're still pretty cheesy, in my opinion at least, but I still like them.
Hello, everyone. Just checking in on my metal buddies. Anyone heard the new [debut, actually] Enfold Darkness CD? The vocals are.. bad, but the guitars...Holy shit. The entire band sounds like someone took the technicality of a band like Nile or Beneath the Massacre, with the melodious nature of AA, or any other melo-death band.. And then, for whatever reason, threw in some Dani Filth for the vocals. I despise black metal vocals, but this band is actually really good. The guitars are.. pretty.
Also getting more into Novembers Doom, Hypocrisy, Bloodbath, and Katatonia...

One, definantly not depressive. Two, it has some atmosphere, but not that great of one. Gehenna is really only good on their first three "Spells" releases.

On the scale of cheesy from 0 - Rhapsody, they are around 5, I think.
I love Sonata. I think we can all agree the best part about that band is Tony's lyrics. He is by far my favorite Lyricist.

I can remember when I saw Sonata Arctica for free on September 27, 2008. Yes, free. I'm pretty sure I posted about it here at the time.
Also, I haven't been to any shows since August 15th due to lack of $$$. NYC has no shortage of gigs by any means, but most come at a pretty steep price. Might be a while before I can get my finances in order again.

Sonata Arctica. I really don't like this flower metal type stuff. I liked some stuff like that when I was about 16 or 17, maybe until I was 18. I still like some power metal, but stuff like SA is not for me.
