Ohh.....shit. You just said KoRn and Slipknot. You just condemned yourself to Metal Hell dammnation.

On an unrelated note, I recently have been told that Possessed, Entombed, and Emperor are all really good bands that I should check out. Where should I start with any of these bands?

So I saw Opeth again tonight, 2nd tour they've done here since Watershed.

Was amazing of course :)

Tool is fucking fantastic. Second favorite band ever (next to Iron Maiden). Even my dad, who used to hate Tool, is starting to warm to them and loving them! Everyone has to like Tool.

they are modern hard rock is what I call it, rather then nu metal, which is a misleading term when that genre has very few metal characteristics

Ugh. I've only got Lateralus, and 10000 days, becuse I refuse to steal their music and there's no where to buy them around here.

Anyway, is it all right if I join?

Most of the bands I've been listening to recently fall under prog metal, thrashy style metal and death metal.

Current Favourite song: Sane Vs. Normal by Mnemic

This looks froody.

I always felt like K0rn take themselves as a joke, I really doubt they take themselves seriously at all.

Slipknot on the other hand, are the complete opposites and have even claimed that there 4th album is the most brutal album is the most brutal album ever released.

Musically, however, they sound totally different.

Either way, they both suck.

Also, I heard Blind Guardian opened for Slipknot for one show in 2008......WHAT THE FUCK?!

Define which genre I think the most brutal album of all time is.

I wouldn't be able to decide between "Thrash metal brutal" or "Technical/Brutal Death Metal brutal"

Well Slipknot are no way near the top of that last.
And frankly, we don't consider them (or KoRn or SOAD) Metal and so discussion of them isn't really the point of this place. There is the Metalcore/Nu Metal Crew for that kind of chatter.
And Tool, I'm sure we don't consider Metal either, although many of us in here are fans. I myself, not so much, but I enjoy a couple of tracks.

Also, there hasn't been a Horsemen in here to accept you as a member, and just to let you know you're list wasn't fantastic. Perhaps bordering on acceptable. But I think you seem interested and you've not ran away from people abusing your taste. So I recommend you check a few pages here and there and listen to some of the bands we do discuss and do deem true in our snobby little corner of Newgrounds.

Also, most brutal album. Either Exodus' 'Bonded by Blood' or Carcass' 'Symphonies of Sickness'.
All this Brutal Death Metal nonsense is pathetic, those albums are rawer and heavier than all those wannabes of Brutality will ever known.

Sigh are really awesome. I just listened to Imaginary Soundscapes yesterday for the third or fourth time, and that album blows my mind every time. It's heavy and raw, but yet it stands out as having jazz and piano in it at times.
