House sucks.

Unless it was related to Metal in some way.

I saw ads for it. Does being locked in an asylum count as being metal?

Just discovered Lost In Torment, great funeral doom right there. No full albums as of yet, but the demos are quite awesome.

No. It's just the usage of gay in that review was very different to what you'd normally expect (and far more smug). It wasn't the usual 'omg gay lol' affair.

I don't see what's so gay about it. :P I could understand Manowar despite singing about raping women and having album covers with women in the nude but this? Nah.

Ah yes, it's meant to be out yesterday. Damn Play.com taking longer to dispatch newly released CDs. I probably won't get it until next week. Along with that, I shall be getting Running Wild's Port Royal which for some reason is hard as fuck to get on CD right now. The one I managed to purchase is in second hand condition at £14. It's that rare. :(

I beg to differ.

Actually, I agree with him. Although Ensiferum's From Afar was close, Endgame truly blew my mind away. However, I hear Helloween are to release a 25th anniversary album at the end of the year and considering my obsession with their music, Endgame might not be the album of the year for me in the end.

Err:

ProgNation (Dream Theater, Opeth, Unexpect, Bigelf)
9th October

Bat for Lashes
16th October (I think, it's in October)

Stewart Lee
11th November (I think, it's in November)

Seeing DT and Opeth again is a big meh for me.
Seeing Bat for Lashes however is totally bonersome. I think I've genuinely in love with her :(.

And Stewart Lee is just amazing, I'm definately in love with him, but that relationship will never go beyond the car park :(.

Have you read the review yet?
The 'gay' point of that review is that 'gay' should denote a standard higher than usual. Using the idea that gay people are more stylish, healthier, better with women, etc. And that the album isn't gay because its suited for fans of Cradle Filth and Marilyn Manson.

If you want Doom thats ideal for killing yourself to I cannot recommend Warning's Watching from a Distance enough.
It's miserable and Doomy as fuck. And it's my favourite album in all of Metal (except maybe Rust in Peace).

I highly recommend Dystopia too though they're not so much Doom as Sludge. But they're wonderfully aggressive :).

And now loads of Doom bands:
Yearning
Electric Wizard
Candlemass
Om
Reverend Bizarre
Burning Witch
Ufomammut
Hooded Menace
Weedeater
Daylight Dies
My Dying Bride (though I've only heard the very early stuff)
Rwake
Lazarus Blackstar
Accept Death
Iron Monkey
Buried at Sea
Grief
Bongzilla
Neurosis

I get what duff means.

In my opinion, there are three types of porn in music:

1.) YOU GOT A PENIS, I GOT A DICK. LET'S FUCK! - And other blatant, have sex for the fuck of it, songs. A lot of rap and brokeNCYDE stuff like this. Haha

2.) PornoGrind....Need I say more?

3.) Unlike the other two, this one can actually be done really artistically. It's not about the insanity of some people(2.) or about having sex just for sex(1.) it's used to describe sex in a romantic way and how it's natural and whatnot - And very rarely, if ever, uses such sexual terms as "Sex, vagina, tits" etc, etc. Usually it's metaphorical in terms of the lyrics, where you could interpret as just another love song, or a deep song about the romantic and natural parts of sex.

Yeah but it's also a three hour drive and a school night, and it's still a lot of money. :(

Extreme Agression sounded pretty harsh to me. I thought the vocals were awesome. I hardly know anything about Kreator after Coma of Souls.

Basically, after Coma Of Souls they released two suck-ass albums(Renewal and Cause For Conflict) then one really good album, that was HIGHLY underrated(Outcast) and then they released an album which wasn't thrash at all and was mainly experimental industrial metal(Endorama) which made everyone accuse Kreator of selling out(And two suckish albums, and one underrated album before hand didn't help the cause of)

2001 they release Violent Revolution(album) which redeemed them from "Selling out", although it was pretty boring in my opinion.

2006 they released Enemy Of God and earlier this year they released Hordes Of Chaos, both these albums are great. (Although Hordes was waaaaaaaay to short)

Also, they've recorded three or four live DVDs in this past decade so it's pretty easy to find footage of them live on youtube.

Speaking of Kreator, this was there set list when I saw them:

They played 7 out of the 10 songs off of hordes(They didn't play corpses of liberty, radical resistance and escalation - They played everything else though)

Then they also played:
Enemy of God
Impossible Brutality
Voices Of The Dead
Violence Revolution
Phobia
Coma Of Souls
People Of The Lie
Pleasure To Kill
Riot Of Violence
Betrayer
Love Us Or hate Us
Tormentor
Flag Of Hate

So twenty great songs.

I share this sentiment.

I don't like buying shirts from bands that I haven't seen live. Buying them at the venue is the tr00 way.

Bands that are dead/disbanded would be an exception, I really want a Death, Warning and Dystopia shirt :(.

I'm always poor and can never afford to get shirts all the time though, I've failed to get a shirt from all the festivals I've been to, Cynic and Municipal Waste :(.

I can only go to a few concerts every year, so if i only bought shirts at venues i wouldn't have enough shirts.

I don't know about other places, but here in Finland, the shit they sell at concerts is overpriced as hell. Hoodies are usually 60-80 euros, shirts are 30-40. I would understand if they were shirts exclusive to the concert, but often they are the same stuff the band sells online on their website.

I have the same problem too. I have a few shirts i got when buying CD's and all, and a Stratovarius shirt (they're never coming to Australia, i can tell). I prefer buying shirts from the show's I've been to with the tour dates on the back, as an added incentive to the souvenir idea as Oppugnant said ^_^

Same here. When I saw Opeth, their shirts were like $40. I don't know how that compares to euros, but I think it's pretty close. Anyway, it's been that way for every concert I've been to.
