I really think that even if Power Metal isn't your stuff, Sonata Arctica really knows how to put together great instrumentals and very interresting vocals. Tony Kakko is a great vocalist and has a lot of talent. Even if power metal vocals are not your favorites... you have to admit the guy is talented.

I've always liked Ulver's stuff, but Nattes Madrigal really wasn't a great album in my thoughts, but I recently realised that he really like that raw sound in their most agressive and black metal tracks.

Yeah, and talking about that, I have listenned to Winterheart's Guild after we had that discussion. And I find some of the riffs on the album to be pretty heavy, especially if you go for Abandonned, Pleased, Brainwashed, Exploited and The Cage.
