Im into:
dream theater
metallica
megadeth
panthera
Iron maiden
racer x
simphony x
sonata artica
war cry
I like every metal genre ecept for death metal and black metal, I really cant stand those, sorry for the fans, I respect your tastes though.
note: yeah, its possible to love both metallica and megadeth at the same time

You know, I hardly care about a band being too "commercial" or "poppy". As long as the songs still sound good, I really don't give a shit.

Mayhaps it is time to rectify the situation.

Yeah, I highly recommend you look into Dream Theater sometime. As for which albums to look at, as Nev said, Images and Words and Awake.

I can´t really get into Dream theater. It might be because when i was 10 and didn´t like music yet my brother played them constantly, i got really tired of most of their songs.

So anyway, I have newseses.

There hasn't been new Forlorn Realms material released in a long time.

I recorded a 3rd demo, but it's production just isn't great.

NOW, I have the ability to make a great sounding recording, SOOOOOOOOO.

A brand new black metal demo made entirely by me entitled Forlorn Realms - Into the Gaurdian Forest will be available to you in about two weeks, as the songs are written already.

And you're all going to download and enjoy it.

So, apparently, one of my friends has a love of poetry.

Not just any poetry, mind you. Poetry where shit dies and gets cut up. And possibly smeared on the wall.

I've been doing this thing with her that I give her some morbid poetry/lyrics, a hug, and some sweets every day.

Being into Death and Black made this significantly easier, although I'm sort of running out of ideas.

Anyone got any recs for bands with particularly gruesome lyrics?

And I don'\t mean Cannibal Corpse gruesome, I mean something with a sort of poetic air about it.

In actual Metal news:
I got Demigod by Behemoth. It's pretty good.

In more non-Metal news:
I've taken a liking to System of a Down lately. :\

Oh dear.

Just because it isn't metal doesn't mean you can't like it dewd.

Carcass?
You could always up the ante on the sweets.

I'd say hugs but people who hug you all the time are annoying.

Will check out, as I have previously called them 'awesome shit'.

Will be taken into consideration.

I used to hate hugs. Now I have grown fond of them.

I seriously fucking love Malmsteen!
And thankfully Spotify has loads of his albums on :D.

I also checked out Celesty as they were announced for Bloodstock today.
Alright Power Metal. Bit generic but its still good. And their instrumental breaks are fucking brilliant. Very early-Dream Theater.

Check out Dark Emotion to see what I mean.

Also, if anyone would like a Spotify invite I have 10 to give :).

I haven't heard Behemoth, but they're one of the only black metal bands that a couple of my friends like, so I was thinking about checking them out.

They generally play a song from each album. Things like THe Drapery Falls, Demon of the Fall, Grand Conjuration are normally regulars. Probably get a few tracks from Watershed too.

All ye users of Hel (ment to be spelt that way). Whats your favorite instrumental song by a band?

Id have to say Dimmu Borgir's Fear and Wonder, dispite the fact there really gay now. The song reminds me of Mordor alot. A black land, the hordes of evil and the great eye of Sauron.

But other than a grim future, Ive been chilling and killing zombies. So I cant complain.

Ive been killing zombies.
