So, apparently Demilich are supposed to be pretty good.
How I ever gathered that information will elude you for the rest of time.
I like it. It sounds kind of like Gorguts, I think.

True, Onkel Tom Angelripper is good, but hes a bit out of my style, I do love his song "Jingle Bells" though. When I drink I prefer to listen to Korpiklaani while kicking back a tankard of Dunkel....or listen to Coldworld and kick back with some Chivas Regal.

If Sensey was here that info would have eluded you even further.

Man, it's been forever since I saw that movie and I can't recall what you're talking about. I have it, though, so maybe I'll give it a watch for the first time in a couple years.

Check out Irreversible. The entire film is exactly backwards. It starts at the end and ends at the beginning, which ends up revealing something at the last moment that just makes the film all the more fucked up. It's a good film, if you don't mind movies that are relentlessly dark and heartless.

I still haven't heard that whole album (I dig Hell's Kitchen), but I've heard other stuff with Derek Sherinian, and sometimes I think he needs to calm down with that keyboard. I'll be enjoying a Planet X song quite a lot, the keyboards and the guitar are going well together, but then the keyboards will take over and leave me wondering when Derek will just shut up. So, he's good when he's in his right place, I guess.

Pagan's Mind is an excellent band, just got that album.
I've known them for a while now, but I haven't listened to them in a long time. I used to get their songs stuck in my head, especially of Epic Questions because Pandora would play it over and over.

aside from the obvious Death, Atheist, and Demilich, which are all brilliant, Illogicist is good stuff. And Neglected Fields isn't bad. Sinners Bleed seems pretty good, too. Priscila is a pretty crazy vocalist.

You can't really listen to it for the lyrics unless you understand German, though.
Or Tankard, which is beer thrash metal.
There ye be.

Nile-In Their Darkened Shrines
The Sword-Gods of The Earth
Rob Zombie-Hellbilly Deluxe (I know not metal)
Alestorm-Captain Morgan's Revenge

Are you familiar with the term "non sequitur?"
Update:
All right, on the whole death/thrash band, yeah well it's not happening. My guitarist and drummer are now in tight situations and can't afford to do anything right now, so it's a one man show for now. Because, however, I don't have any method of recording all the parts yet, the project is on standstill, but I began writing riffs, bass lines, lyrics, and drum patterns recently. It's coming together slowly but surely.
Also, it's not really death/thrash anymore as it is sludge/death, or Eyehategod with less noise and no vocals.
Here I am, bored with everything.

Sludgey, Sludgey, Sludgey :D.
The Ricky Gervais Guide To... - The English (The Ricky Gervais Guide To...)
Enjoying me some Pain of Salvation right now. New Year's Eve is one of my all time favorite progressive metal songs. Fuck that. It's one of my all time favorites in general. It's such a great song.

The Perfect Element I is one of my guilty pleasures. There's some good songs on there but every time they flirt with nu metal it really kills the moment. I haven't listened to any of their earlier stuff yet.
?

Lol, right?

Yeah, they do that, but they're still a really good band overall. I would recommend One Hour by the Concrete Lake to anyone who likes good prog metal based just on New Year's Eve. I was even humming that when I went out earlier today. I just remembered that.
Hey, Nev. Who is ANAMALECH? They friended me a while ago on Myspace, but they have no songs up, and I noticed they have your band as a friend as well, and a bunch of doom/sludge type bands added as friends.

I can programme you some drums if you can tab them out for me, I just finished building a virtual 8 piece drum kit and it sounds similar to the one you guys heard on my Moonlight Sonata cover.
If your still interredted in Tech Death bands, check these out Ryan
(I'll also put br00tal tech)
Origin
Blotted Science
Benighted
Necrophagist
Atheist
Necrophagist
but you probably already know about a lot of those, right ?
:P
need some more of this

I'll try, but I need to find a drum tab maker thing first. They wouldn't be too complicated or anything though. Just some slow simple beats with a few fills which eventually builds up to blast beats and maybe some d-beats here and there.

That's fine, it's understandable if some Dream Theater fans like the album, but personally, I don't find it to be very enjoyable.

I gave them a listen to a year or two again. I wasn't too interested in their music back then, but just listening to this song right now is changing my mind. I'll need to look into more of their songs and see if I will enjoy their music a lot.

Most certainly. They're releasing a new album next month, so checking their stuff soon would be good timing. You might want to start off with their Battleheart demos, which are free somewhere.

I think its my bandmates ex-bandmates band (the bassist to be precise). Apparently they're Black Metal (or were). The impression I get, very unsubtly, from my bandmates is that he's a useless idiot who constantly changes what he thinks is cool.
Without having any songs though he managed to get a gig with Lazarus Blackstar, who are tits as.
At 4/24/09 09:16 AM, batman64 wrote: Any takers?
I'm not a huge fan of the vocals, but there are much worse bands. I haven't listened to much Mastodon, except for Blood and Thunder. I think Mastodon are just one of those bands that elitists on MA and such like to hate, much like the Sword.
Mastodon are like Tool for me. There are a few songs which I love and then the rest just bores me. I know its good, but it doesn't pull me in at all.
They were amazingly dull live too. Though they have pretty beards.
