lol, so your 16 now. Funny, your not any different from what you were before.
And as the other guys said, there is so many different bands falling under the name Melodic Death Metal, that you simply cannot judge of a whole sub-genre by making generalizations.
Now that you grew up a little ;)
you may be a little more mature. So I'll list you my favorite Melodeath bands, check out those you don't know, or maybe give a second chance to those you do know. If you don't like the music, it's alright, but you'll have to admit that there is talent, work, energy, agressivity and creativity in their music.
Here it goes
Amorphis
Arch Enemy
Arsis
Blinded By Faith
Children Of Bodom
Dark Tranquillity
Darkane
Ensiferum
Falchion
Kalmah
Nightrage
Profugus Mortis
Scar Symmetry
Threat Signal
Warmen
Wintersun
The bands that I have written in Italic are some that you should listen to really carefuly, as they are bands that I consider being awesome bands. The perfect example would be Threat Signal... they make a kind of progressive technical melodic death. If you could just put your hate for melodeath aside and listen very well, you would realise that it's a gold mine.
Just like Arsis, that can be classified as Technical Melodic Death Metal.
Btw, Threat Signal make the best Breakdowns :P
Oh and I saw somewhere that some stuff by Ulver was classified as Trip-hop and I'm not quite sure about the definition of this music genre, so if anyone knows a very good way to describe it, than feel free to tell me :)
Listenning to right now : When All Is Said And Done by Threat Signal
