Anybody here wish Behemoth stayed with their old (Pre-Satanica) sound? Grom and ...And the Forests Dream Eternally are fucking majestic pieces of pagan black metal that evoke spirits and are quite elegantly done to boot. Their new death metal sound is anything if not overdone and overpolished. It makes me quite sad. :(

I never really liked Behemoth... I think they are trying too hard, they just sound like posers to me...
And there is just no way I'm ever going to like the vocals.

The only reason Behemoth sound like posers is because other posers try to sound like them. You hear the mimics first and you think "damn, these guys sure are posers." Then you hear Behemoth and you think "man, these guys sound like those posers I listened to a while back." Behemoth is the real shit.

And there is just no way I'm ever going to like the vocals.

What do you find wrong with them? Side question: what Behemoth have you heard, and how much? As insinuated by Ghoul's post, they've evolved considerably throughout their career.

Arguing on the internet is about as pointless as trying to convert evangelical christians to paganism.

Yeah, Sventevith (Storming the Baltic) sounds absolutely nothing like Demigod or Thelema 6.

It's cool, but I like the Kevin Moore days. Octavarium (the song) is fucking kickass, though. The rest of the album is meh.

I just don't think that they have anything special that would make them stand out of the Death Metal scene. They have heavy riffs, powerful growls and a really fast drummer, but I really just see them as a generic death metal band.
I could understand why someone would like their early work though. They really were the definition of Blackened Death back then.

I love Behemoth's recent work, I prefer it to their older stuff that I have heard, though I've never really liked black metal that much

Yeah, Sventevith (Storming the Baltic) sounds absolutely nothing like Demigod or Thelema 6.

They have a new CD out, it has newly recorded tracks and earlier stuff. I have The Apostasy, Demigod, Thelema 6, and Zios Kia Cultus.

Weirdly that was one of your finer spelling moments, minus the classic 'grammer/grammar' mistake.

And Dino Sommese is the most intense vocalist ever. If listening to him doesn't make you want to hate the world and everything in it then you're a much nicer person than I am :P.

Pulp - Common People (Different Class)
Then again, Pulp are well sweet.

Also Rotting Christ are playing Damnation fest over here in November or something. Its only down the road (in Leeds) and they usually have ace line ups (Sigh and Carcass last year). Looking forward to the next announcement though, because as nice as it would be to see Rotting Christ due to the rarity which they're over here their style hasn't really grabbed me much.

Holy shit, I didn't realize that people were big enough fans of those bands to have their gamertags named after them. Eh, what else is new? I've seen kids with gt's like linkinpark2245 and stuff. If you don't mind being an asshole you could be beheritfan666.

I can't describe it other than thrashy symphonic grindcore, but it's awesome.

It's not so much that. If they actually use live and play on those profiles I'm fine with it. It's the people that just make an account and never use it that pisses me off. It's like they're fucking reserving the name so nobody else could use it. It's like if Newgrounds went back to allowing us to change our profile names and everyone went back to stealing mod's names when they changed them.
