Sorry, it looks like you're more into hard rock than metal. None of those bands are metal, really, except for Pentagram. Good music, yes, but it's all hard rock, not metal.

In other news, Angband just had a rehearsal. It went pretty smoothly. We have 3 original songs written and a couple covers (Freezing Moon and Oggeledelse Og Undergang) and we played all of them with our signature dual harmonised bass/guitar lines. Of courrse, a large bottle of white wine helped too.

I can't see how they are mainstream. Maybe if you could name me a few bands that would in anyway sound like Scar Symmetry I would understand what you mean. But from what I've heard, especially for the album Pitch Black Progress, there's nothing like Scar Symmetry.
