So, yesterday I went to Quilmes Rock Festival 09...

It was the best concert of my life.

Sepultura played very well, and it sounds very good even without Calavera Brothers. And Iron Maiden fucking rules. Great playlist with clasics and one of my fav songs: "Children of the Damned". The people was very happy and jumped a lot. I really enjoyed the festival.

It doesn't surprise me. I agree with the reviewer that it's got modern rock influence. The vocals for one are reminiscent of modern rock and a lot of the album is pretty simplistic musically or at least is more so when compared to other bands doing similar things. The difference between me and the reviewer is I don't necessarily think that that's somehow automatically a bad thing. This actually happens a lot with bands that blur the line between metal and other stuff. Apparently in this guys mind Woods of Ypres was trying to make metal more palatable. I'm not sure where he got that from... he makes it sound like it would be impossible to mix rock and metal without selling out or doing it to be pretentious which is bullshit. They were likely just doing what they felt like doing musically.
