Gonna check these out.

You didn't mention Hypocrisy, which is a disgrace to mankind.

I know them :P

Death! (Another disgrace).

I know them :)

Opeth... but I'll assume you're just not a fan, seeing how well known they are.

good guess

thanks for the list.

Don't worry, I won't leave again lol.

Anywho, to reply to a few posts (this place moves so fast nowadays I can't keep up with all the posts, so forgive me if I'm a few pages behind):

1. Everything Pantera has made after "Cowboys" sucks,

2. CC are not brutal death metal by any stretch of the imagination, and saying that Barnes is more hardcore than Corpsegrinder is like saying Britney Spears is more metal than Christina Aguilera because she included a guitar solo in one of her songs. Neither is hardcore in any way, CC is a joke band as far as I'm concerned.

3. I blast music, too; only it's in my car/at my home, not in a public area. Use your headphones and all will be well.

In other news, I'm going under house arrest, so I'm about 3 days clean now and in a horrid mood. So streaming from my ridiculously large speakers is rainy, smoky, and downbeat strat-blues. I might turn this into a full-time project, but so far I got 2 EP's and a demo written for 3 different bands (doom, power, and black metal, respectively) I'm in currently, and I need to start recording instead of writing so much material. So with that in mind, I downloaded a drum machine. The rest will soon be history.

No matter if you think they are a joke, I'd like to get some informations from all you "super masters in metal classification"

I can undersand how Darkane are Death Metal and not Brutal Death. But tell me what is the big difference between Krisiun or Benighted... and Cannibal Corpse, that makes the two first Brutal Death?

I don't know about this discussion you guys are having, but that makes me think that I was blasting some Cryptopsy and Kalmah in my car tonight :)

These two bands are fucking awesome.

I think anyone who doesn't know them are just missing one of the greatest bands this world as ever knew.

Swampsong, best album ever !!!

Haven't been here in a ling time and since my last visit my taste in music has changed quite a bit, so I decided I'd just keep you all updated because I owe it to a lot of you guys for pointing me in the direction that led me where I am now.

The bands I've been listening to the most recently are the following:

Opeth
Kalmah
Dark Tranquillity
Norther
Ensiferum
Korpiklaani
Eluveitie
Turisas
Anorexia Nervosa
Moonsorrow
Falkenbach
Eternal Tears of Sorrow
Haggard
Imperanon
Mors Principium Est
Tvangeste
Wintersun

Besides that, I've really gotten into electronic music.

Psy trance, dark trance, industrial, dark wave, aggrotech, etc, etc, etc. Pretty heavy shit a lot of the things I've been listening to.

Hahaha, and to think that about a year ago I hated the whole electronic scene and would have nothing to do with it.

Darkane are melodic death metal and i would call Krisiun death metal and benighted brutal death, in an overly simplistic way with death metal you can listen to a song and work out what they are saying whereas with brutal death there is no way you can work it out due to much more gutteral vocals.

not everyone may agree with that but its how i differentiate on base level

So I payed $12.00 USD to go to a concert with these five bands:

Despised Icon
Beneath The Massacre
Carnifex
Neuraxis
Plasma Rifle

The show started at 6:30 PM, and ended at 11:40 PM.

I got to say, that concert was fucking epic, if I knew how awesome the show would've spent $35.00 to go.

Introing with two minutes of rape sounds Plasma Rifle came out screaming and kicking major ass on the guitar and drums, even if the vocals and bass was a bit stale, those other two things compensated.

Then Neuraxis came out, god they were AMAZING! There are no better words to describe them, if I am correct there are quite a few Neuraxis fans already in this club? Then go see them, they are even better live than their albums!

Carnifex was pretty good, not as good as the previous band at all but still good.

Beneath the Massacre was next, easily the worst band to play. But even then they were still decent.

Finally Despised Icon came out, now I know some of you probably don't like them due to the fact they are deathcore instead of death metal like the other five bands...but ti doesn't change the fact that these guys kick ass live, if you are into mosh pits and/or body surfing you better see these guys at one point or another. Seriously.

All in all, for these five kickass death metal + Deathcore bands for five hours in total all for $12.00 it was 100% pure worth every cent, and then quite a some.

If this tour is coming near you fellow Americans + Canadians then you better consider going.

Not the best concert i've ever gone to, but defiantly the best concert under 20 bucks i've ever gone to.

I hate you americans, you get such great deals at concerts.

For those five bands for that long would cost like $40 USD, I swear to god.

Wow, that sure is cheap!
I had to pay about 35$ to see Iron Maiden and Sepultura together.

Wait, is that cheap also?

Actually, it sort of is.

Tickets for Iron Maiden sell out fast, so once the tickets are gone(Four+ hours before doors even open usually) you would need to buy tickets from someone who bought tickets in bulk, which could cost you in the hundreds.

My metal purchases when I was in London:

Demons & Wizards - Demons & Wizards
Edguy - Mandrake
Manowar - Sign of the Hammer
Overkill - Horrorscope
Saxon - Wheels of Steel

And Faith No More's The Real Thing and Angel Dust, which are considered metal by Metal-Archives (can't agree or disagree just yet). They weren't high up on my want list, but seeing the two albums for £7, I thought I should get them while I had the chance.

Yeah, re-seels tickets costs a lot here too.
But tickets here doesn't sell out fast. I remember when my friend came from Canada. He wanted to see Negadeth soo bad. So I supposed that there would be still tickets for the show. I was right.
He could buy the tickets 4 DAYS BEFORE THE SHOW.

Ha, another reason why I love the Palladium:

The only tickets you can buy at the door is for the concert that night, you can't buy tickets at the palladium days in advance.

So you could either
A:) Buy tickets on the day of the show with the chance of the show being sold out if you get there too late.
Or B:) Buy tickets days, weeks or even months in advance via the interwebs or by phone, the catch being you have to pay the whole price you'd normally have to pay PLUS 8 - 12 more dollars.

Listened to My Dying Bride for the first time. 'Turn Loose the Swans' was the album. I wasn't expecting to like them because they're always associated with Anathema and Paradise Lost and I'm not really a fan of either of those bands (though I'm aware their earlier stuff is different to their new stuff... I think anyway).
But I enjoyed the album. Not going to check out anything else by them though. My brain was trying to dislike it every step of the way and I'd rather leave it at enjoying that album.
