Does anyone like ambiant tracks? i dont. I dont know why Black Metal bands continue to do them. I seems like a pointless trend that has gone on way too long.

I like some ambient tracks, usually short ones on albums. Sigh had one of their venom album - it was good.

I've heard many many people use the word "literally" incorrectly. I don't have any specific examples at the moment, but it's one of the most misused words today, in my opinion.

Ambient tracks like Burzum's?
Yeah I enjoy that occasionally.

I listen to some Dark Ambient from time to time too.
Stuff like Atrium Carceri, raison d'être and Lustmord.

I'm kind of the same way. i dont mind them if they are short, but i dont like it when bands like Burzum or Paysage D'Hiver release full albums of Ambience. Just not my genre.

I had a feeling. Smeagol has no excuse, though.

His weekend : Walked around in a forest, made a plastesine doll or something, and a spiky piece of leather, and played around on photoshop, with his short ass hair.

My weekend : Jamming in my shed, drinking with metal people, having another jam, playing N.I.B. by Black Sabbath, watching Iron Maiden dvd and drinking, drinking Jacks, Strongbows, red wine and twelve year old brandy. Buying weed, getting high and eating McDonalds, with my LONG FUCKING HAIR IN MY FUCKING FACE.

No girls though :'(

Ambient black metal only works with acoustic folk, and flutes and shit, and no keyboards. Like Ulver's Kveldsannger, and Drudkh's Songs of Grief and Sorrow. None of this Burzum ambient shit.

And what the fuck is up with that Ministry shit? Some shitty as pommy new wave band tried playing death metal with keyboards? Not cool.

And yeah. Ambience. I find instrumentals way better than ambience, especially if the ambience is just random samples, like on Ulver's EP's, not to say they're that bad, but I don't have the patience for Silencing the Singing. The film soundtracks didn't tickle my fancy too much either. I like how Shadows of the Sun was ambient, but still music.

Drudkh - Archaic Dance

Drudkh are amazing.

Ministry went from experimental/euro dance sounding hilarity to The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste and Psalm 69, which from there helped lay the path for Industrial metal we hear today.

They're basically a big deal still, no matter how gay their past may have been.

Eh, I got no problems with that, even though I couldn't get into NIN when I gave them a try. I believe it was two years ago when I gave them a try and haven't given them another chance since. Maybe I should give them another shot and see if I change my mind on their music.

But consider me educated, I'll say arbitary from now on. Its a cool sounding word too, one of the ones that makes me love the English language.

These are the five concerts this year i'm seeing for certain.

Also I saw Opeth in September and they were awesome, anyway in may they are going to play in Boston for three hours for $30.00. Should I drive two hours to see them? (Enslaved will also play)

That's some pretty awesome shit right there.

Unfortunately, this fucking shithole of a country has some sort of weird obsession of sticking 'OVER 16S ONLY' onto the end of every single fucking show. Even the low profile ones, some asshole will be standing at the door and turning away anyone who looks younger.

Wow, that's retarded. Yeah the Palladium is a "all ages venue"

So technically a six year old can see Insane Clown Posse if he has the money.

Although the Palladium has a habbit of making the more 'mature' concerts start at 9 or even 10 PM while the rest usually start at 6 - 8. Although it really depends on how many bands + how long each one is playing for since they hate concerts going beyond 1 and sometimes 2 AM.

I saw the movie Rock Star earlier today on TV. It was quite entertaining, I honestly think it depicts how bands like Iron Maiden lived in the 80's perfectly.

*SPOILERS AHEAD, READ ONLY IF YOU'VE SEEN THE MOVIE AND/OR DON'T CARE*

And the end made me realize something: What if Bruce Dickson just walked off stage from Iron Maiden? I mean am I right in thinking that it'd be all over the news for weeks on end, even in America?

*END SPOILERS*

I totally recommend you all see it.
