Job For A Cowboy is deathcore, definitely. If you want to ear some real death metal, just ask around, a lot of us like death metal.

Some metalcore bands do sound a lot like some metal. As we discussed recently, bands like As I Lay Dying, really use a lot of metal elements in their music. But they are still metalcore.
Just think about it, some rock bands do use some metal elements, but they still are not metal.

I don't think people should just say that they want doom anymore. I think there should be some rule that they should either say doom in the vein of traditional or funeral doom. Since they are two totally different monsters.

I know that's not really a good thing, but it is kinda, if Nev has an opinion on something I pay great attention to it because I know he knows his shit. When I came here, I really liked Metallica. The a lot of people talked about how they weren't very good, and now, I see what they mean. This club has shaped my opinions. I wouldn't be listening to Sludge right now if I did regularly post here. This club changes my tastes. From thrash to black and now to doom. This club transforms your taste. Sure, now you might love shitty melodeath bands, but soon you will grow out of it, and listen to better death metal.

I can still say I like Burzum. Although his approach to black metal was always amatuer, atleast up until Hvis Lyset Tar Oss and Filosofem, those are great black metal albums.

The things you mentioned are more of a foundation to any music and don't really describe any specfic style.
