I know Disturbed is not metal, but you guys really think that it's shit?
I don't like them at all, but I don't find them unbearable. They were a favorite of mine when I was like 14. But at that age, I listened to a lot of crappy stuff.
I know Mudvayne sucks... and so does Korn... but Disturbed?
I don't like either of them, but I see Mudvayne as being better than Disturbed.

Tyr's cover of the Wild Rover is one of my favorites.

Why the fuck do the Japanese get all the bonus tracks? What makes them so special?
Most of the time, bands who release the Japanese tracks end up visiting Japan that year, so it's not like the bands never come there.
What the fuck.

Because everyone in Japan listens to either Speed Metal or Power Metal and they deserve benefits for not being a nation or X Factor/American Idio listening twats.

The closest I can think of would be Esoteric (probably their newer works) and Evoken.

One is a really unique Doom Metal band called Void of Silence.
Speaking of Doom Metal, I bought Doom on Steam a while ago for £1 and some of the music very much reminded me of Metallica, Pantera and Slayer, which made me really happy. I know this game is 15 years old now, but I never even played Doom until the start of this year. Oh well, better late than never.

One of my favorite death metal bands is: Job For A Cowboy, also they're kinda famous for some of the pig squeals they do. And I also like the fact that they scared the sh*t out of my brother when he was sleeping. lol

If you'd like to join, list your ten favorite metal bands. However, judging by that post and the bands listed under your favorites in your profile, I doubt this is the place for you. But give it a go if you wish.
now listening to: Anubi - Mirtis (avant-garde black metal)

I was just kinda droppin' by, I think JFAC might be one of the only metal bands I enjoy, the other ones are either probably punk, hardcore, or any other. example of the hardcore basd: Bring Me the Horizon.
Job For A Cowboy not fucking metal! There metalcore, now into the incinarator with you.
I find this character to be quite interesting.
Orgys orgys orgys! :)

That's the shit right there, n word.
I was just wondering if there is any real big Melodic Death Metal fan in here?
Cause everytime I post about Nightrage, Scar Symmetry, Profugus Mortis, Dark Tranquillity, Wintersun or any Melodic Death bands (except for Kalmah... cause you guys seems to like them a lot) my posts get ignored or go unoticed. I think that it's kind of sad, because it's basically my favorite metal sub genre.
I think that it just brings two different genres of metal together. With heavy riffs, heavy drum lines and bass lines, bands like Nightrage really know how to keep it very Death metalish. And that vocalist !!! Fucking sick !!! Probably the hardest kind of scream you can do. Before they never really did any clean vocals, but on the most recent album, some parts have clean vocals or harmonic of clean and scream vocals. Some people find that kind of music kind of metalcorish... but I really do not see it that way.
But you guys can see the difference by yourself
This is a track from their 2004 album, Descent into Chaos :
Being Nothing
and this is a track from their most recent album, I'm not quite sure about the date, but I think that it was released in 2007. This is from the album A New Disease Is Born :
Spiral
I think that it's bringing a really nice contrast in the music to mix some clean vocals and nice melodies with great heavy parts.
But their older stuff is really nice. The melodic parts and heavy parts are not separated, and that's probably the big difference between the two genres of melodic death metal.
Listenning to right now : Silence Calls The Storm by Quo Vadis
Québec Rules !!!

I quite like Melodic Death and those band listed are great.
But it's not something I can listen to very regularly as I find it gets a little boring. For me anyway.
I really prefer earlier Nightrage though, Sweet Vengeance is a terrific MDM album, that doesn't just steal straight from the Gothernburg Melodic Cook Book.
This song is a perfect example.
