I just like to say kudos to anyone who are into a nice variety of metal subgenres. I can't say I'm into enough metal subgenres and would like to explore much more than what I have right now. Sure, I'm into Heavy, Folk, Power, Progressive, Thrash and some Death and Black, but really, that's not enough for me. Since I got into REAL metal 3 years ago, I've been wanting to get into all sorts of metal subgenres and now, I like a fair amount, but there's still so much more to discover.

I wouldn't say that exactly, especially for Thrash. However, if that was actually true, I'm glad I listen to Black, Death, Folk and Prog as well. Oh, and speaking of those genres, the Falconer and Queensrÿche CDs came today. However, the Death album I ordered was refunded, so I have to try and get it elsewhere.

I'm into, Death (also Brutal death; Slam death and technical Death) , Black(Depressive or The Dark Funeral/1349 type, both good) , Doom (I mostly have funeral doom) Folk, Avant-Garde, Symphonic, Melodeath, Progressive, Thrash (Mostly Megadeth & Kreator) Grind, I'm into a BIT of Heavy metal and Classic metal, Don't like Power metal, Been getting a bit into Goth metal and Industrial metal.

I mostly listen to metal, but I like to dive into other genres, outside of metal I like Rock (duh), Classical, Jazz, some Icelandic rap, a tiny bit of blues here and there, and I luvs me some Ambient or Noise, I like Björk, but haven't really gotten more into Electronica.

I like SOME techno, Mostly breakbeat and such, And these Acoustic Guitarists like Andy McKee and Antoine Dufour, I like some Punk, but mostly Icelandic artists you haven't heard of so blah, Also some Post-rock (duh, I'm icelandic) Not really into Indie, RnB, Pop, Pop Punk (although I dig some MJ here and there :$) and such, too happy music for me, don't like most New Wave, Darkwave is cool though.

Being totally honest, there's not a lot I can think of that I listen to outside of Metal.

I like Blues Rock, Punk, Metalcore, Classical and some Avant Garde stuff.

folk-punk, "indie," post-rock, jazz, hip-hop, noise, experimental and avant-garde shit, classical, folk, ska and skacore, a little punk, good alternative like Beck and Cake, and a lot more too. those are only the main genres.

I'm not going to list the bands I like because I cannot be bothered and we all know each others tastes anyway so I think of it as pointless.

Though I'm fond of: Avant-Garde Metal, Doom Metal (and most of its variations, though Stoner doesn't tickle my fancy an excessive amount, more a Trad man), Drone Metal, Power Metal, Progressive Death Metal, Progressive Metal, Sludge Metal, Technical Death Metal and Thrash Metal.

Black Metal is growing on me to an extent though I haven't listened to much good stuff so I didn't want to include it.
Death Metal I think fairly bland unless its Proggy, Techy or whatevery... or Hypocrisy :).
And I do like Folk Metal but at the moment the only band I care about is Moonsorrow (and Alestorm are alright for a laugh) and I didn't feel that one or two bands justifies my liking of a genre when I find a lot of the other stuff abhorrent and the music for happy twats with poor taste.

(I'm not applying this to anyone in here, but rather people whos taste it Metal consists purely of Groove Metal and Turisas... you know the sort).

What other genres are there? I know theres Industrial and I know there is an influence of that in SYL but I have them as Prog Metal.

In terms of non-Metal that I listen to then I'm incredibly fond of Imogen Heap and I love her more than every other band I like combined :). So thats Alternative (and is probably my favourite non-Metal genre given how Frou Frou, Radiohead, The Cure, Sigur Rós all fall into that), I like Acoustic, Avant-Garde, Contempory Classical (like Philip Glass, Steve Reich), Electronic, Grunge, Indie (mainly older Indie, though some new stuff I do quite like (I kissed a girl and like it :P)), Instrumental/Virtuoso, Jazz, Pop (MJ, Bowie, Beach Boy pop), Rap (old, nicer rap) and Soundtrack music.
I really like female singers, just because I love the female voice. I like voices the way other people like tits and arses.

And seriously Imogen Heap. She's better than all of you :P.
