I just like to say kudos to anyone who are into a nice variety of metal subgenres. I can't say I'm into enough metal subgenres and would like to explore much more than what I have right now. Sure, I'm into Heavy, Folk, Power, Progressive, Thrash and some Death and Black, but really, that's not enough for me. Since I got into REAL metal 3 years ago, I've been wanting to get into all sorts of metal subgenres and now, I like a fair amount, but there's still so much more to discover.
Oh, and since everyone else is doing it and it's the last day of 2008, I might as well hop on the bandwagon with the list of all the metal artists I'm into:
Accept
Alestorm
Amon Amarth
Angra
Anthrax
Arch Enemy
Bathory
The Black Mages
Black Sabbath
Blind Guardian
Death
Diamond Head
Bruce Dickinson
Dio
DragonForce
Dream Theater
Edguy
Elvenking
Emperor
Ensiferum
Exodus
Falconer
Fates Warning
Fear Factory
Finntroll
Gamma Ray
Grave Digger
HammerFall
Helloween
Iced Earth
In Flames
Iron Maiden
Judas Priest
Kreator
Liquid Tension Experiment
Machine Head
Manowar
Masterplan
Mastodon
Megadeth
Meshuggah
Metallica
Morbid Angel
Motörhead
Opeth
Ozzy Osbourne
Pantera
Persuader
Queensrÿche
Rhapsody
Running Wild
Savage Circus
Savatage
Sepultura
Slayer
Sonata Arctica
Strapping Young Lad
Stratovarius
Symphony X
Týr
Wintersun
I'm hoping I can expand that list even more by the end of 2009. Also, I could do with some artists beginning with C, N, U, V, Y and Z.

Anyone else like powermetal?
In my opinion, perhaps the worst metal sub genre.
Says the drone guy.
*sigh* There's really nothing wrong with his thoughts on power metal. If he doesn't like it, that's fine. As long as no-one's slagging off a certain subgenre for stupid reasons, I have nothing to complain about. Obviously, nu and metalcore don't apply to that.

I still consider that people who only stay in Power, Heavy and Thrash Metal and never go in other metal sub genres are not really metalheads.
I wouldn't say that exactly, especially for Thrash. However, if that was actually true, I'm glad I listen to Black, Death, Folk and Prog as well. Oh, and speaking of those genres, the Falconer and Queensrÿche CDs came today. However, the Death album I ordered was refunded, so I have to try and get it elsewhere.
