Hair should only be cut in the situation where its still very long after the cut and you just need to get rid of 4 years worth of no cutting damage.

I also rediscovered how fantastically epic Stratovarious can be.
And I've been invited to go to see Children of Bodom and Cannibal Corpse in Febuary. If its cheap I might for two reasons:
1. See my best friend (whos at a different uni, so I rarely see) and the fellow I spent Opeth with. So to be drunk and get merry...

2. My New Years resolution is to go to more Metal gigs, and this would be getting off to a good start. And despite my hatred of CoB, Cannibal Corpse should provide sufficient entertainment. And alcohol will improve any situation tenfold, should things not go good, anyway.

I'd say there might be a decent band supporting but they're called Diablo which I think is possibly the gayest name any band has ever had.

I've only heard his beggining-middle era albums, I havn't heard anything after he had his weird thrash metal phase that everyone hated.

Merry belated Christmas everyone.

I'm glad that people start to appreciate Agatus again, one of the best bands ever. I'm glad that SOME people are listening to my recommendations.

They say it like it is. Thus not gay.
Diablo isn't gay, but you just know they play board games and have sex with each other... and having not done any research I assume there are no females in the band. Female band member board game sex is right up my alley :).

Where's the difference?

To put it simply, Metalcore is Hardcore wich some Metal influence. Hence not Metal.

NOT to be confused with: Metal with Hardcore influence, as some people are led to believe.

I only listened/watched the video to about 1:30 of one of the new Trivium songs. Just in that small space of time i could see the obvious 'influence' they got from various bands, and the riffs and whatnot...were just...blatantly metalcore. All your gay weedly weedly melodic choruses (not that theres anything wrong with it in songs, its just...you know), that crappy voice that Heafy lost after they done The Crusade leading to the bassist to do the whole 'growling' in their songs whilst playing live, etc.

So, i don't think ill be looking into listening to the actual album itself anytime soon.

Response to Metal Hell 2008-12-30 05:42:10

lol,you fools!
Get listening to Ram-Zet, Nao.
New band I discovered that I fuckin' LOVE.
Avant-Garde, but yet melodic metal, they have 3 albums, all concept album about schizophrenia, and some couple.

Basically, awesome band:
Cool original "Wheezing Shriek " Vox
Female vox that don't phail, don't go way too high and aren't too low,
Violins
And much more.

...I'd say they are Gothic/Progressive/black/Industrial/Tech nical metal but they alter from styles not only like, a different album= Different genre, Different song= different genre, It's like every song has a bongolommazillion styles.

Get their album "Escape" first

Also, for the metalcore, metalcore is inexcusable, whiny, mainstream, angsty teenager music for posers, 0% originality between bands or songs.

The musical sameness of all metalcore is astounding, all have the same riffs, Fifth, Base note, Fifth, Raise fifth by half a step, I don't know how to say it in english, so fuck you lol.

I have studied a lot of theory, and since I know what a Diminished arpeggio is, All deathcore sounds exactly the same to me.

Watch this.
then this
then this
then this

etc.

they don't even Change the placement, upon which it is played on the neck, they are just differently dropped, SAME arpeggio, just more or less notes.

Only song that can pull off (this most basic, and common form of) diminished arpeggios without sounding stupid is obviously this...

so cool and witty for bagging on someone's musical preference.
