Hahahaha, true true.
God damn, finally someone understands why I like Burzum. All his shit works toward the mood and atmosphere, and it works. His screams may be nails-on-the-chalkboard, but I don't think he's going for melody.
Exactly. He is screaming because it adds to the mood. And his albums only got better. Dunkelheit is a true masterpiece, and the distortion effect he uses on his voice sounds really awesome too.
Very true. A tight rhythm section is excellent, nothing wrong with that. But if they overshadow the melody, what's the point? The two should be ideally be equal, and failing that, melody should take precedence.
I agree totally.
See what I mean? You're a cool dude hiding under insults.
Down here in Australia, it's just the way it goes. I have actually been becoming incredibly open minded recently, incredibly open minded. Even in musical taste. I listen to fucking black/death/folk/progressive/grind/tradi tional, and even Ulver's work. That's like. Techno stuff. It's really awesome though. I'm listening to Scum right now, and I would have to rate it like 90/100. It's really great, people should realise it.
Hmmm I feel like a different person already. Partied way too hard last night. Like I said to my friend this morning, it's a great world when a 15 year old kid can wake up drunk.

Penis don't you dare insult bassists.
You little shit, I didn't insult bassists. I am a fucking bass player.
Look at Steve Digeorgio (sp?) from Death. He can outplay most other motherfuckers I know and he does it with a melodic grace; it's not just pointless Yngwie wankery.
That's great. Why are you pissed off.
Also, teh aforementioned Primus makes use of the bass as the primary melodic instrument (not to say that it's melodic like melodeath, but melodic as it drives the melody along). Death From Above 1979 (not metal) also make use of the bass being the main instrument (the only actually).
You forgot Om.

Other than this, PenisClown, I do not believe that Burzum is pure shit, it's not my kind of metal though. I may have been rude, but that's mainly because I was talking to you... and I thought that you would only
throw a shitload of insults at me for not being a fan.
Nah man, you're ok. Sorry bout all the imature shit.
Also, that's just a question, but Varg was a bass player at first right?
Cause when he was playing with Mayhem, that's what he was doing.
I don't know about first, but maybe. I started playing bass first. Then it just. Happened. Guitarist, yay. Best in my whole school \m/. Picked out for the school rock/metal band.
But em, since I do not really like that kind of black metal, is there any other good one man bands out there?
Shores of Sheol.
Picture of the black/traditional/progressive/folk/only really awesome folk/not lame -core lame folk/or even bands like finntroll/I hate Finntroll/death/go listen to Otyg's first demo fag.
I bet Nev will guess what I'm licking before anyone else.
