Did you just call Gojira, Symphony X and Turisas sell-outs?

They ain't sell outs. But they're fairly popular, not necessarily because of the music but because of the folk they've toured with/accessability.

Fair point, I suppose.

I'm just saying that most people (especially girls) in this country are either scene fags or chavs.

It's nice to meet a few new people with good taste in music.

Anyone here heard of Gorgoroth? They take anti-religion to extremes. All blood and gore and people getting nailed to the cross. There music sounds like shit to me anyways.

I somewhat like Gorgoroth, despite the anti-religious lyrical themes.

Also, did I already mention that I discovered a Texan Black Metal band called Golgotha?

They're pretty near Gorgoroth on the 'Anti-Christian-O-Mometer'.

And they stole my name for my recent project.

Which begs the question.

Why in the Holy Mother of Hells did a blatantly Anti-Christian band name themselves 'Golgotha'?

It's related to Jesus' death and looks a bit like Gorgoroth?

Also, about the word epic, I thought it meant "Long" like, an epic movie is a long movie, an epic battle is a long battle, an epic tale is a long tale etc. ?!

i'm back from palm springs

i got dream theater's "images and words" and necrophagist's "onset of putrefaction." i like both but:

1. I feel like there's some DT album out there that's made for me, and will fulfill how I feel about DT, and this one wasn't it. I have a feeling that I'm going to listen to this a bunch and suddenly I'll really like it.

2. I'm not much of a death guy, so I feel weird listening to Necrophagist.

i'm not going to look through all the past like five pages for what you guys talked about, nor am i going to ask.

It does go with Long I suppose but it mostly coincides with tings that are suspensful and drawn out (in a good way).

Like Lord of the Rings is a good example of my point. It's Looooong and entertaining.

While something else might be just as long and boring as fuck.

For songs example, a Sunn O))) song let's use Wind & Fog goes for 21mins that's long for a song yet it lacks the 'epic' factor.
But Rhapsody's Symphony of Enchanted Lands goes for 13mins and is epic and is full of energy.

Hope that's not too confusing haha, turned out to be of verbal vomit.

This signature makes use of various clichés and/or 'emotional' lyrics/quotes, hopefully it makes me appear deep.

I've listenned to some stuff by Xasthur... and em...
I think that they really aren't my kind of music...
Ambient Black Metal really isn't my kind of music.

I think that their tempo is really too slow, the recording quality is just really "typically black metal", and the instruments really aren't that great. The "one man band dude" of this project really doesn't seem to be that great as a musician. I'm not trying to say that this band is total crap... but I would like to know what's so special about this band, cause I know that a lot of you guys like em (because I now that there is two members now). And I would like to know why?

Discussion on 'name me some black metal bands', why hoodies win, and why converse also wins. That basically sums it up.

Yeah, that's what happened to me. At first, I thought it was good, but a while later, I found it to be fucking amazing. Along with that, I had to get all their albums, although I left WDADU waiting until last month.

Wacken's line up sucks this year (so far at least). Hellfest on the other hand... *jizzes everywhere*.

why not just go to paganfest stateside? save on airfare, and you wont have to dress for the cold.

Speaking of Paganfest, Paganfest 2's lineup has been announced: Primordial, Eluveitie, Moonsorrow, and Blackguard.
