Hey people...you may not remember me, but i used to post almost daily in this thread a few months ago, i just came by and decided to post about yesterday's shit gig i went to...i saw on the internet a gig in a local bar, there was going to be a mexican metalcore band i like playing...along with 7 deathcore bands...so i thought it would be some nice show with a violent mosh pit, i went along with 2 friends and the so called "deathcore mosh pit" is bullshit!! it's just a bunch of pussy-ass kids waving their arms around, like punching and kicking the air...but the fucked up thing is: every time there was any physical contact...THEY APOLOGIZED!!!! then my friends and i got into the center of the floor and started to mosh...people instead of joining in, they stared at us with fear in their eyes...what the fuck is that?!?!?!?! so i've come to the conclusion that deathcore fans are really pussies!!!¬_¬' well anyway...any new recomendations?

ok...now i'm in a sort of dilemma: nile's coming next saturday, there's a fest including vader, carpathian forest, nargaroth and destruction on march and ozzy is coming with BLS and Korn...and i don't know which one to choose >:C...BTW i've got cash only for one and ozzy's gig is way too expensive so i would have to get some extra cash..

Can you even taste the Coke? I had a bourbon and coke once and all I could taste was bourbon, which made me wonder what the point was in putting Coke in there.

Also, I hate beer. I don't like the taste and I don't feel anything when I drink it, so I see no point.

Hey, can anyone recommend some good melodic bands? Preferably some melodeath.

Been listening to a lot of this lately, and I LOVE IT!

Wee, back to work tomorrow! I'm actually glad that I'm getting out again. Sitting at home for a week straight isn't exactly uplifting.

How are you guys doing?

Anyways, I don't want to talk about it on Metal Hell, so peeps reserve comments about my ex band to my news posts.

Ok, relevant subject time:

Machine Head or Devil Driver?

What floats your boat? Please go on the basis of the music ALONE, not about how long each has existed blah blah blah....

{{I get to sit on the fence as I like them both equally as much.}}

But I dislike both... Machine Head have Imperium on their side... but they have gay fans ('Machine Fuckin' Head' = Gay, unneccesarily vulgar, just to appeal to faggots who think swear words make you hard).

I'm not going to come to a conclusion, I just wanted to mention how I hate that.
Devildriver are just shit.

The only other bands I've got round to listening since I last posted here is Age of Nemesis and Psychotic Waltz... both are alright, but nothing insanely memorable. Age of Nemesis' singers voice is kind of annoying, and when I listened to Psychotic Waltz my mind wasn't really on the task, and the volume was quite low.
Also I only listen to music on the bus, since coming on the internet is the only time I used to listen to music, but now that task is one that makes me rather upset, so I try to avoid using my computer as much as possible. And since I only listen to music on the bus it means I only listen to music that makes the journey interesting... cue lots of Lost Horizon, Axenstar and Psycroptic's 'Skin Coffin'.

Wha? Hypocrisy is MUCH better, and have been for a while. With the exception of two albums, Hypocrisy has been excellent for 15 years. I really like Gojira a lot (and their live show is great), but they're relatively new compared to hypocrisy, and only have two decent and one excellent release. Hypocrisy has at least three or four excellent releases, two decent, and two mediocre. I suppose they're both death metal influenced, but they aren't really similar... That's the only link I can come up with, likely Kidd just pulled two bands from out of the air (figuratively speaking).

How many Hypocrisy releases have you two heard?
Also, FWIW, get Goatchrist's opinion on this

No full ones. But I've heard songs, and I have nothing against Hypocrisy. I like them and if I had full albums I'm sure I'd like them more than I already do.
But I like Gojira more :P.

I haven't listened to Devildriver for more than like 30 seconds. My friend played a song of theirs when I was at his house and I left the room to play a video game, so I don't remember anything about it. But I really don't like Machine Head. I had to sit through a whole album of theirs (I think it was the Burning Red) when my friend bought it and he insisted on playing it. I hated it. I was't even convinced that what I was hearing was metal like the metal archives claims it is.

I disagree. I think the stuff by Age of Nemesis is hard to forget, especially on Terra Incognita. I find it really catchy. And while Psychotic Waltz may not have catchy or memorable songs (aside from Freakshow) I still think they're really good. Neither of the bands are favorites of mine, but I do really like them. I wish I could find the first album by Age of Nemesis when they were just called Nemesis and were still using Hungarian lyrics. I really like that song Ébredj Fel.

Currently Listening: Old Metallica (Kill 'Em All). Damn, I forgot these guys were actually pretty good at one point...

I don't like Kill 'Em All much... it has great songs (Seek and Destroy, Four Horsement..) but the rest seems bland. The next two albums are better I reckon.

I'm actually listening to Master of Puppets (both song and album) right now. Its not that I love Kill 'Em All, its just that I remember it sucking. A lot. I haven't listened to it in years though (quite literally, I last listened to it when I was around 16) and was generally surprised that it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought.

I do like Master and Ride the Lightning, though And Justice... is my favorite Metallica album. I'm not a big fan of the band, but its been a long time since I've listened to them. My tastes have matured and I think I respect them a bit more that I did. I used to be all "Metallica sux becuz they R popular" - you know what I'm talking about, the whole "its cool to make fun of popular bands because they're popular". IDK, if anything this was a cool re-discovery. Don't think it will stick though :P. I'll never be a big Thrash fan.

I just see that as your typical run of the mill Thrash syndrome. I've yet to listen to a full Thrash album that didn't have at least one throwaway song, and of course most of the time it's more then one.
