Turisas - The Varangian Way
Sigh - Hangman's Hymn
Shining - V: Halmstad (Niklas Angaende Niklas)
Nile - Ithyphallic
Primordial - To the Nameless Dead
Pig Destroyer - Phantom Limb
Sickening Horror - When Landscapes Bled Backwards
Immolation - Shadows in the Light
Type O Negative - Dead Again
Skeletonwitch - Beyond the Permafrost
Oh, and right now I'm listening to one of the best DM albums ever: Necrophagist's 'Onset of Putrefaction.'

So, I feel awful, and it seems like there's not much new in this thread since the last time I posted here.
I'm starting to get into Swallow The Sun now, and I kind of regret missing them when they were touring with Katatonia in September.

I've been into them for a while. They probably would have been pretty good live.
Have you heard Draconian? They play pretty similar stuff to Swallow the Sun.

Meh, that's alright. Your pickiness is perhaps nothing compared to how picky I am with death metal.

I actually haven't listen to over 10 2007 metal albums. Here's all I've got:
Dream Theater - Systematic Chaos
Helloween - Gambling with the Devil
Machine Head - The Blackening
Masterplan - MKII
Megadeth - United Abominations
Sonata Arctica - Unia
And there were other 2007 albums I should have got, but haven't yet, which are Symphony X's, Iced Earth's and Gamma Ray's new albums.
I'm in! I like Metallica , Slipknot and ( i dont know ecactly if they are heavy metal) Three Days Grace

Symphony X and Iced Earth were close to breaking my top ten, especially Iced Earth (they've been a favorite of mine for a LONG time). The opening track on Symphony X is fucking outstanding, but then, they always were breathtakingly good at their presentation and song structuring.
Overkill and Exodus' newest were really good too.

Pretty much :(
I think I first saw it in 2006.

I would place the new Symphony X album near the top of a top ten list, it has so many awesome songs. Sigh - Hangman's Hymn is my favourite album of the year, it's nearly flawless IMO, and nearly as good as Imaginary Sonicscape. I didn't check out the new Overkill album, but the Exodus album impressed me, it was better than SHKM.
Can I join too?I listen to Slipknot,Evanescence,Marilyn Manson and KoRn(which I'm not sure if anyone will like).Oh,and I also listen to some other non-metal bands, like Red Hot Chili Peppers,a little of Nirvana, and 1 cool song of Lenny Kravitz. But I'm open to suggestions,if you have any.

Although Symphony X is one of my favorite bands, I didn't like what I heard from Paradise Lost. I have a bad feeling about that album.
Oh,I forgot.I also recently listened to some Slayer and Metallica songs, and I'm amazed...Otherwise,I also like The Showdown's songs from their album Temptation Come My Way,a few songs by Deliverance, some songs from Soil, and I also like System of a Down.

Joinin' that top ten albums of 2007 thingy. However, I've only heard a few metal albums of 2007, so I'll just post my favourites of last year.
Enter The Grave - Evile
Dark Passion Play - Nightwish
United Abominations - Megadeth (sue me)
The Vargarian (or however you spell it) Way - Turisis
Paradise Lost - Symphony X
I've liked quite a few others of 2007, but they were not as good as these few. If only more of my favourite bands released albums last year...

Symphony X or Tyr.
I've been in this club for several years now, on and off, so I don't need to worry about any of the horsemen {Lol, such a 'take-it-seriously' thing, back in the beginning it was sooo much simpler} kicking me out of the club considering it was the great Goat himself that let me in xP.
Anywho, CONTROVERSIAL TOPIC WARNING!
What is with some of the 'regulars' to the club and their problem with Slipknot? Yes, only teenagers like them, aside from the odd exception like myself who is coming up to twenty and still a proud owner of the IOWA album. Yes, their last album wasn't really all that good, but look at Metallica and St Anger. But still, all things considered, if you listen to SLIPKNOT and IOWA as if you've never heard of Slipknot, they sound like pretty brutal angry tracks. Maybe not as brutal and as angry as Dying Featus, but still pretty brutal compared to the Fratellies, no?
Anyways, what I'm trying to say is that Slipknot shouldn't be discounted in terms of if it's Metal or not just because of a few people with a very biased attitude to the band's typical fan base. I hate the typical Spliknot fan too, but not for the same reasons as my fellow 'Metalheads', but because they weren't there at the beginning, when it was new and really did feel brutal in the post-grunge era. They just don't "get it" like we, the peeps who were there at the first Slipknot UK gigs, got it. Please, just let Slipknot count, whether you like them or not, for the sake of a little less elitism.
It's elitism that stiffled the Black Metal scene for a good while, let us NSBM fans remember!

Well, Not only the gh3y fans, but the Technical Musical style that defines Metal is not present in Slipknot, It's like 90% Hardcore punk, And then just some nu-metal in the mix.
At 1/15/08 03:29 PM, Shalashaska-1 wrote: Slipknotbeconsiduredplzkthxby.
Personally, I think that they should count. As it is a very easy mistake to make. Some 14 year old underachiever with bad acne will discover Slipknot, and because it makes a welcome change of pace from his Father's Country and his mother's Christian 'rock' bullshit (Not pointing any fingers) will think it's the most brutal shit ever.
He will then be constantly be being told by his mother that she has concerns about his music tastes. The kid will respond with a cold shoulder. The boy will then find that other people like the same shit at his school. When the 'What's your favourite band' question is passed around, and he says Slipknot. He will be laughed at and possibly beaten to quite a squishy pulp.
Now, as a regular jack-off, this boy will probably know of Newgrounds, so in his depression, he will go to the BBS, see this club, make an account, then attempt to join with shit like; Elliot Minor, Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica (especially St Anger), and, what he feels to be the best and most brutal band in the world, Slipknot.
Should we shun him, my friends? Or should we attempt to make him full of less suck? The latter, I say. We all liked shite at one stage in our lives, this boy is no different.
So, adapting from Shalashaska's proposal, I say we still reject people like this boy. But we reject him with a pat on the back and a few recommendations.
Eyeless is a pretty dead-on song, though.
