As with the whole Slipknot thing, I agree with Bill. It's not like we chose to not accept Slipknot, it's just that Slipknot is generally defined as not being metal, and we must go with that decision. I hate them, personally, but it's not us to decide their "metalness".

I have almost totally stopped listening to metal.
Recently I been getting into funk, mid 90's gangsta rap, and rap.

I been listening to bands like the Derek Trucks Band, The J.B.'s, Grateful Dead, Weezy, The Mars Volta, Medeski, Martin, and Wood, Ghostface Killah and the rest of the Wu-Tang Clan, and the Cool Kids.

Yeah, I guess you guys would say I've gone to the dark side.

Welcome back bro.

As much as I hate to say it, this is no return. I simply just no longer have that determination or desire to pursue metal. I just could not find many of the bands I wanted to find, and that was frustrating me. Also, when I'm stoned rap/hip-hop and funk and jazz just is easy on the ears and makes my head bob.

Also, I like Weezy because A) THERE IS SO MUCH WORK AND MATERIAL TO LISTEN TO!!!!!! I have over 15 hours lol. and B) because he takes beats of songs that are okay, adds two or three other motherfuckers, and throws it on a mixtape, and gives it away for free. I haven't bought any of that material.

And for the haters, he came out with his first album in '99, when he was 16. He isn't going anywhere for a whilie. ha!

A couple of chords in Drop B later and it was complete.

Also, everyone shut up and listen to what I have to say.
I am writing a 4 part song, which is possibly the most awesome thing ever. 1 Metalcore bit. 1 Death bit. 1 ghey acoustic bit to balance things out. And 1 power metal bit.

Parts:
Part 1-I Matter (The Ideal Death)
Part 2-Hellfire Will Purge Your Soul
Part 3-Everlasting Shreds of my Sorrow
Part 4-From the Ashes I Will Rise

If you're looking a challenge, guess which one's which.

However, I have hit a snag. I have the basslines, vocals, drums and most of the guitars figured out. The snag is that:
I cannot write solos to save my life. And while I've got solos for I Matter and Everlasting Shreds of My Sorrow figured out, they're pretty simple and easy to play.

On another note, I spotted a genuine Warlock in the music shop today. I am SO getting it for my birthday.

Aye, Agalloch is awesome. I have 'Pale Folklore,' 'The Mantle' and 'Ashes Against the Grain,' all of which are really good, especially 'Ashes.' I never would have thought that this kind of metal would come from a place like Portland, Oregon, but what do I know? I hope the White EP is as good.

All's I know is, I can't wait for the new Hate Eternal, Immortal, Cannibal Corpse, Belphegor, Fear Factory, and Melechesh albums.
