Oh, and Travis compared me to Mark May, lol. If that's so, then Travis might as well be Skip Bayless, considering all the crazy crap that both of them like to say from time to time. Plus, if you're so adament about attacking my teams all the time, why don't you defend your Buckeyes and the Brownies then?
I never said the Browns would be good. I was optimistic about them in the preseason, but it goes without saying that preseason doesn't mean shit.
I didn't say that the Bengals were going to be good either, but so far, they have exceeded everyone's expectations, you must admit that.
The Buckeyes... hmmm. Well Urban Meyer picked them to win the Big Ten at the start of the year AND he said they are the most talented team in the conference. Apparently we have a coaching problem. I.e. that sorry ass O-Coordinator who doesn't deserve to be named.
Meyer probably didn't know about Wisconsin who won the Big Ten conference last year, and somehow got Russel Wilson as QB. As for a coaching problem, well they needed a stopgap coach, and even after Fickell leaves, I don't think too many coaches that want to take a HC job when the school is going to take some major hits from the NCAA.
Yet again, I am a realist. Not a Bayless. You never want to give the Buckeyes credit, but how long has it been since you guys have beat them
I can't really give the Buckeyes too much credit at all, considering you did lose to Texas, USC, Florida, LSU, and you were favored against most of them. Now I will give the Bucks some credit in winning the Big Ten almost every year, {probably because the Big Ten was horrible through much of the decade.} but at the same time, you didn't capitalize on a lot of chances to be a CFB dynasty the way USC and Florida did. Didn't you say that they were going to be 12-1, even though that team is really stripped down from last year?
talk all of the shit you want, but Michigan hasn't been relevant in Championship talk for a long time and before the debacle that happened with Tressel and such we were expecting another run at the National Championship.
Actually we have been relevent at least until 2007, when all the bullshit started. Plus, just because OSU was expecting another run at the NT, didn't mean they were going to win it, especially since they did get smoked constantly by the SEC and by USC the last couple of years.
So, it seems like the problem with both of my teams is coaching, but The Buckeyes are having a brighter outlook than the Browns.
I'll agree on that. The Browns have yet to play the Steelers, Ravens and 49ers, and judging on how bad they have played so far, this is definitely going to be a long season. As for the Buckeyes, Wisconsin and Michigan will beat their brains in, but other than that, you might win against the rest of them, and end up in a 2nd tier bowl game.
So, there I have defended my teams... something you have yet to do, other than that sad argument you used about Notre Dame earlier. I doubt you have much to say about Michigan's record considering the trash that they have played so far....
We play what's in front of us. Sure the competition might not exactly be world beating per se, but still we're 6-1, and you can't argue that, and besides, most other teams do it anyway. Oh, and if you're wondering who we play next year, we are going playing Alabama in the Cowboys Classic next year, that should remove some doubt.
As for the Bengals, the only team they have beaten with a winning record is Buffalo. What's even more sad is that you guys keep getting blacked out... and you guys have a winning record. Way to support the team.
So? It's not like the other guys that we've beaten so far don't get paid as well, not to mention that our schudules are randomly genorated. As for the blackout situation, I may not know how TV stations work their bullshit, but they don't seem to black out Browns games, even though they suck ass almost every year.
The Bengals' strength of schedule is 27th.
So? As I said, it's not like the other guys aren't being paid ungodly amounts of money to play ball. Plus, the Browns schedule isn't really that much tougher then ours either, and you're 2-3 and we're 4-2, what's their excuse? We just do our business as we usually do, and we have done well so far, especially after what happened with Carson Palmer and the renovation of the offense in general.
Here's my big issue. Quit acting like a fucking know-it-all, especially with your parenthetical "of course" comments, and act like a realist. In other words, stop being a stubborn fan and look at the big picture.
Probably understands why we'll never see eye to eye on a lot of things. As a fan, it's part of me to be stubborn, because I believe in them, for what it's worth. Now that doesn't mean that they can't improve on what they have done. {i.e Can Cincinnati try to score more on offense to help their defense? Abosolutely} But from what I've seen so far, you can't help but to be optimistic. Hopefully, they don't fall back into old patterns and tailspin later in the season, which I say they won't.
