MIA @ NE

Even though Tom Brady is going to sit early, I'm still going with New England on this one.

TB @ NO

Going with the Saints at home.

CAR @ ATL

Atlanta bounces back at home against a worthless Carolina team that has already packed it in.

MIN @ DET

The Lions make it 3 wins in a row at home.

OAK @ KC

I've got the Raiders winning, it's been quite a while since the Raiders went 6-0 in their own division.

BUF @ NYJ

After trashing the Bills for most of this season, I'll throw them a bone and say that they win against the Jets.

CIN @ BAL

I'm not going to doubt Cincinnati this week, they'll win against the Ravens.

PIT @ CLE

Going with the Steelers

JAC @ HOU

I'm going with Houston on this one, Garrard and Jones-Drew are too way to banged up to play.

DAL @ PHI

Philadelphia bounces back at home, I think they got hosed last week with the whole Tuesday night fiasco.

NYG @ WAS

I've got the G-men on this one {Giants}

SD @ DEN

I've got San Diego, I still don't trust Tim Tebow yet.

ARI @ SF

Why did they fire Mike Singletary with 1 game left, I'll never know, I have the 49ers easily against a worthless Arizona team.

CHI @ GB

Da Bears, no question. Green Bay digged themselves too big of a hole to get out of right now.

TEN @ IND

Peyton Manning+Home game+Crappy Titans team= Indy wins, and clinch the AFC South.

STL @ SEA

Going with Sam Bradford and the Rams, IMO you got to have a .500 record at the very least, if you want to make the playoffs.

What about that Music City Bowl? I wouldn't expect that 2 joke football programs have such an exciting matchup like this, this is certainly the best bowl game so far. Too bad that Tennessee lost, {considering I did pick them to win.} although I kinda expected that to happen, considering that Derek Dooley is an idiot, and the team does stupid shit on both sides of the ball.

Myself, I can't wait for the Gator Bowl. A lot of people seem to be picking Miss St. for some reason, but I really believe that they are really underestamating Michigan, and how good their offense is.

I throw a pretty accurate and strong ball anywhere from 0 to 40 yards out. Even though I only threw the ball a minimum amount of times as a running back and linebacker in both high school and semi-pro I would have made a great quarterback if it's what the team needed me to do.

So speak for yourself. :P

I was probably too short though at 5 foot 11 inches. I had the body of a running back for sure.

I wasn't trying to insinuate that you or I couldn't throw the ball, don't worry lol. I was just saying that some of his throws had a lot more arc on them then I'd seen a pro QB do before. I don't throw a bad ball either, but I just don't have the arm strength to make the intermediate to long throws without putting enough arc on them to get them picked off.

I guess last week showed me though. I'm not ready to say he'll be great yet, but I'm starting to think there's something to that never pick against Tebow stuff.

And I don't know if anyone's taking the bowl game picks seriously or anything, but I thought I'd share a tip I used in making my picks:

When two teams are pretty even, and one has a freshmen QB, I usually pick that team. It's common for freshmen QBs make more progress in the practices before a bowl game than almost any other point in their careers. Jake Heaps etc. had their best games of the year in the bowl games. Other than that, I try to get inside a team's head. If they're in a situation where they're naturally motivated to do well, the often will beat out a more talented team that is disappointed with what bowl they ended up in.

Also, did anyone see the end of the K-State game? How was a salute excessive celebration? That was on of the strangest calls I've ever seen.

Denard Robinson is healthy so I'm expecting Michigan to romp all over Miss St. Also, Rich Rod is playing for his job so he has to win or out the door he goes.

Worst call of the Bowl season so far. Clearly that wasn't excessive celebration at all and if so it should have been enforced on the kick off to at least give K-State a fair shot. Nobody is going to make a 2-point conversion from the 17 yard line.

At 12/31/10 03:55 PM, Cootie wrote: Hmmm how about all these good bowl games today? Two SEC teams get to play and you are darn right that I am going to root for them. Clemson already lost, but I had expected that one to happen and right now Notre Dame is beating the tar out of Miami.

I expected more out of the Sun Bowl. Notre Dame vs Miami, what a marquee match up, but when Miami has nothing to play for with a new coach coming in, it really ruined the game.

As for South Carolia vs Florida State I will take South Carolina. They are a pretty good team this year despite losing the SEC championship to Auburn by the biggest margin in the history of the series.

Picked the South Carolina, but I wouldn't be surprised if Spurrier's 'cocks blow another bowl game.

the opposing coach gets to choose if it's enforced on the kickoff or the conversion. Normally they pick the kickoff, but this case was pretty obvious for the conversion.

I agree with the worst call distinction though. It literally took away any chance they had at the game.

A bunch of big non-BCS bowl games today including the Gator Bowl {Which Michigan is in, and probably going to pay the most attention to.}, the Capital One Bowl, and the Outback Bowl {which are all Big Ten vs. SEC matchups, hooray!}.

I hear a lot of people say that the Big Ten's reputation is on the line and if they have a bad record in bowl games, then the conference is pathetic, which I personally don't care about at all. If Michigan wins their bowl game, and every other Big Ten loses their bowl game, then I wouldn't mind that at all, {hopefully that won't be the case}, I always believed that if a rival team in the same conference wins a bowl game, then good for them, if not, then it's their loss, not the conference's loss.

Then there are the Rose and Fiesta bowl games, where these games aren't going to be that close at all. I've got Wisconsin winning easily 38-17, because they're much more physical and much bigger than any of TCU's players, and TCU's defense can't handle John Clay and the Badger's offensive line, this one going to get ugly for TCU. As for the Fiesta Bowl, I can't see Oklahoma losing this one, they have way too much to play for, and other than Jordan Todman, the rest of the UConn team isn't very good at all. If I was Oklahoma, I wouldn't treat UConn lightly, but at the same time, try to run up the score and don't look back. I've got Oklahoma winning easily 38-13.

I don't know which game to watch. All of the non-BCS games are pretty good match ups. I'll guess I'll settle with seeing if Joe Pa can knock off that young whippersnapper Urban Meyer.

I hear a lot of people say that the Big Ten's reputation is on the line and if they have a bad record in bowl games, then the conference is pathetic, which I personally don't care about at all.

Heh, the Big Ten is 2-0 so far, not that it matters because the Sun Belt Conference is 2-0 as well. People shouldn't really compare conference wins with each other unless they want to say the Sun Belt is better than the SEC who are 0-3.

Then there are the Rose and Fiesta bowl games, where these games aren't going to be that close at all.

Yeah, the better games to watch are early ones. I think the Rose Bowl is going to be closer than most think, but the Fiesta is going to be a romp. Stoop isn't going to let another Boise State type mistake bite him again.

Wisconsin has a lot of cleaning up to do for the Big Ten today.

Michigan and Michigan State were embarrassing and Penn State is slipping away too

Normally, I'm generally indifferent to other teams in the Big Ten in their bowl games, but from the looks of things, they have embarrssed themselves and their conference badly, particulary to the 2 teams in Michigan. By god, if Wisconsin doesn't win big against TCU, then the Big 10 might as well be right next to the Big East.

Michigan and Michigan State were embarrassing and Penn State is slipping away too

I was insulted with Rich Rod and the performance of Michigan showed against Mississippi State. To have that offense score only 14 points, while that defense gives up 52 to an average Miss St. team is considerable evidence that Greg Robinson should be fired before the team plane lands back home, as for the asswipe Rich Rod, if he doesn't get fired now, he'll better pull off an undefeated season, or at least a BCS berth next year.

I'm sure that Cootie is jumping for joy right now.

TCU was very lucky. Just one knockdown on a pass on the 2 point conversion saved it. If that's not close then I don't know what is.

Poor Big Ten. They got rocked today and it's up to Ohio State to save face.

Suddenly I'm thinking I should've picked Arkansas. I think the rose bowl was more TCU being a very good team than Wisconsin sucking. Sometimes teams lose games, but this time TCU won it.

On Wisconsin's last drive, they were too busy dicking around, and not trying to move the ball down the field fast enough. This was really a gimme game for Wisconsin, because they were supposed to be more physical and much more talented than TCU, but they found a way to fuck it all up in the end. By choking this game, and dragging down the Big Ten even further, I think they should stay at the farm and make cheese, that's all they're good at.

Poor Big Ten. They got rocked today and it's up to Ohio State to save face.

Knowing Ohio State, they will find a way to choke the Sugar Bowl and make a whole mockery of themselves yet again. I don't know how or why they get in the BCS bowl games every year, but I think its high time we made them play in some other bowl game outside the BCS, because they either get lucky, or find a way to choke in the biggest games.

Before today I had never seen TCU play ever, which is somewhat odd since i live in Nevada which has two teams in the Mountain West conference. I did not see TCU putting up the defense they did but at the same time I feel the loss came because the offense simply failed to maintain momentum. There are so many plays that if they had gone differently Wisconsin would have one, unlike Wisconsin TVU was able to capitalize on opportunities and stop the offense.

It's unfortunate but hopefully we have more chances ahead of us going forward.

Yeah, I have the Razorbacks picked for that game. I would say replace them in said BCS games, but with who? All of the other Big Ten teams got smoked unless you want to send Iowa who occasionally wins their bowls. If you want OSU to stop embarrassing themselves they need another powerhouse to start dominating in the conference again, like an Michigan or maybe Nebraska to take their spot.

Well see how divisions and championship game affects the Big 10 and who goes to the BCS games.

Also, all I have to say about the Fiesta Bowl is that its trophy is fucking ugly, but I'm glad it's going to Norman.

On the bright side, at least the Giants will finish the season better than last year. The defense have been a letdown for the past two games, especially against the Eagles.

Honestly how the fuck do you blow three touchdowns worth of lead in the fourth quarter?

Chicago had really nothing to play for, so they kind of backed off after the 3rd quarter.

I really don't think that Green Bay is much of a threat, because they are inconsistent in the running game, they don't play very well on the road, and I don't really trust Aaron Rodgers very much at all. If they do get past Philadelphia, there's no way they'll win at Atlanta.

As for Ohio State, they really need to win the Sugar Bowl to restore some pride in the Big Ten, but I know damn well that isn't going to happen, they can't try to outscore Arkansas' offense, because their weapons aren't that great and it's a total crapshoot when Pryor throws the ball. Not to mention the fact that the 1 ranked team they have faced in the season {Wisconsin}, they got slaughtered, not a good sign at all. The rest of the Big Ten needs to step up their play against OSU, because they are way too predictable on both sides of the ball, and they aren't as talented as everyone says they are.
