also on another forum we're doing an nfl dynasty draft, and i'm still laughing at cutluuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhh going #1 overallOkay seriously what idiot would draft Cutler as the top pick on fantasy? Everyone knows on first round always draft running back no matter what, after that then you can worry about quarterbacks and they have to be someone like Peyton Manning and Drew Brees, not Cutler!
dude, when did i say it was fantasy? we're making franchises, not whoever can get 10 points for rushing 100 yards. through two rounds (30 teams) we can has allen and beason
Even though my wild card week was a dud, I'm sticking with my original bracket picks for the divisional round. So yeah, winners: Colts, Bolts, Nordic marauders, and the Who'dats?

This is... unexpected.
Gaines Adams, a defensive lineman for the Chicago Bears who was a former all-American at Clemson, has died. He was 26.
Gaines passed away Sunday at Self Regional Hospital in his hometown of Greenwood, S.C. with the Greenwood County coroner's office telling Fox News that the cause of death was cardiac arrest due to an enlarged heart.
The autopsy on Adams was performed in nearby Anderson, S.C. with the final toxicology test to be completed by South Carolina's law enforcement division, and results expected within 2-3 months.
The Bears issued a statement Sunday saying the team was "stunned and saddened" by the news of his death.
The team said Adams was selected fourth overall in the 2007 NFL draft by Tampa Bay, but was traded to the Chicago Bears in October 2009. He had not been able to live up to expectations that he would revive the Buccaneers' once-feared pass rush, having just 17 tackles and one sack in 15 games this season.
The 6-foot-5, 258-pound defensive end was well-known among Clemson fans for breaking up Wake Forest's field goal try and returning it for a touchdown in 2006 to defeat the Demon Deacons.

Playoffs are too short to count people on the overall standing who miss a week.

Yay, back to .500 after WC weekend. I have to stop picking with my heart (Iggles.), and those Jets keep surprising me.

If that happens, you can almost book McNabb to take over as a starter there.
Conference Championships
NY Jets at Indianapolis -
Hmm. The surprising Jets against the established Colts in Indy. Well we have to start out by admitting the fact that for the second time this postseason New York is going up against a team that helped it get into the playoffs by rolling over and resting players. They trounced the first team in the Bungles in WC weekend, but I doubt they'll do the same to Indianapolis. However, if the Jets somehow win I won't be surprised as this game has "you reap what you sow" written all over it.
But yes, the Jets did shut down Ochocinco and co. and then proceeded to hold San Diego's receiving corps in check on consecutive weeks (thanks to Kaeding!), and it would seem playing on the road doesn't phase them. However this is for all the AFC marbles and I just don't see a rookie QB doing enough against a defense that held a better overall offense in the Ravens to just 3 points. And although you can run on the Colts a bit, let's face it, it's a passing first league now and the master of that strategy is Peyton.
I had the Chargers in the SB in my bracket, but since they're gone now I'll have to adjust in terms of my weekly picks. I'm going with Indy.
Minnesota at New Orleans -
Sticking with my original bracket pick here though. Saints offense is back on track after their faltering in the last few weeks of the regular season. The Cardinals' defense was just what the doctor ordered for that.
Both are coming in with great passing games and good running games, and both are fairly comparable in terms of pass defense. You can run on New Orleans a bunch more than Minnesota, but I'll temper that statement by also pointing out the fact that New Orleans' defense gives up on average just a mere 1.8 more points a game than Minnesota. A.P. can always break one, but then again he's been slumping lately and you have to go back to nearly a month ago against the Bears when he had his last good game.
So if the Saints watch some tape on the last few games the Vikings played and see what schemes worked against Peterson, game-plan appropriately, and their secondary holds their own like they did throughout the season against teams like Arizona and New England they should be fine. Favre can show his old bad gunslinger self once again in an NFC title game a la Giants @ Green Bay of 2007.
Stickin' with the Saints.
If it happens:
Vikings vs. Colts - Vikings
Saints vs. Colts - Colts
Vikings vs. Jets - Vikings
Saints vs. Jets - Jets
If those match ups happens...
Yes I'm being harsh on the Saints but remember there's a jinx regarding teams losing to the Buccaneers. I have no idea why so it's pretty weird unless the Saints end that jinx but who knows however.

I thought this was a photoshop at first. Nope.
Sigh.
Colts, because I have to say it again... The Jets... Really? Really? REALLY?
I will go with the Saints, since they aren't seeming to get much respect here. Also because what's the worst that can happen, I add another loss to my fabulous playoff record.
A friend in need is a friend indeed, but a friend with weed is better.
If the Jets get to the Super Bowl I will cry myself to sleep at night.
Some things just should not be. This potentiality is one of them, generally reserved for preseason blind-faith predictions between a group of four or five sad, mid-40s Jets fans.
