Well, Theodore was underwhelmingly bad, and Liles & Leopold were both out for a while, Svatos underperformed all year, and overall the team is great offensively but doesn't have enough defense, esp. with their best D man being an offensive-type of defenseman (Liles).
Lets face it, if we didn't have a quality tender like Budaj in net, we'd be in a fucking big hole.

The whole problem with the Avalanche is ever since Forsey and Blake left they haven't had any real tough physical players.
The coach doesn't want us to be too physical, because our PK sucks.
I just fucking hope that the Avs make the playoffs.
Maybe if we missed them, we'd get the wake up call we need?

Do you like Theodore?
To be honest, I did appreciate both Aebischer and Theodore. Abby was beginning to turn a corner and then we made a boneheaded trade to send him to Montreal for a cripple. I thought last season was over when we did that, but Budaj stood his ground. Problem being that when we got to the playoffs, we stuck Theodore in net, which worked for a time.
Now Theodore is a very expensive backup tender. We're paying him 3 times more than Budaj to sit and watch Budaj steal his limelight!

Hollweg gave simon a cheapshot, simon took the retaliation wayyyy too far, concussion or not.
Chris Simon deserved his ban, regardless of weather or not it was spur of the moment or impulsive.
I'm actually of the mindset that it was a little too harsh a suspension. the hit was in the heat of moment, while he was still blind with fury over the from behind, late, hit. Whereas Marty McSorely and Bertuzzi had both premeditated their actions.
McSorley nearly impaled the guy (whose name escapes me) with his stick, while Bertuzzi tried to push Steve Moore's face through the ice by punching him repeatedly on the back of the head. The NHL gave them a fair suspension and they were investigated by the police (although neither of which resulted in prosecutions) Chris Simon isn't worthy of police investigation for an impulsive action like that, but the suspension is fair.
