Well, yes. He wears a helmet now, though, because the NHL got rid of the grandfather rule for helmets in the NHL. The "no helmet" thing says nothing about his blatantly missed calls, though. It's rediculous.

I'm hoping one announcer does that, just for how it would sound in front of 16-18,000 people. Can you say YouTube?

Edmonton must lose. San Jose will be the winners.

Katz must make his move. He bought the Oilers to make it better and right now it's not looking too good. I'm looking for them to made a trade and fire some of the management.

I do want to the Oilers to win but they currently suck too much. So i go to my second favorite team which actually has a chance of winning the stanley cup until they lost to Detroit tonight like 6-0 =(

The sad thing is that Detroit seem to have the best team perennially, which is even ending in Stanly Cup Chmpionships. I only hope that the Avs can start to turn their season around a little after managing to run into Detroit and steal a win from them.

Looks like we stole a win last night as well, thanks to the officials. Mind you, Mike Smith did give the impression that he was throwing his stick, even if it was still in his hand at the time of the shot from Hejduk...

I haven't come around here in quite a while.

I'm at the point that I want the Avs to give up this season already. I think the franchise needs to start focusing on rebuilding, and quickly. There definitely shouldn't be a push for the playoffs or aquistions of that sort at the deadline, and I'm really hoping that the Avs can pick up some draft picks in some trades. I don't see much in the Avs right now but a mediocre core of players and about three or four stars.

Then you have no concept of contending. We're still in with a shout and while we are in desperate need of a decent defensive corps and, while this may be something that we are heading towards over the next few off seasons, but we have a chance, as we have been able to claw our way up the standings, it's not quite there yet and I'm willing to watch us trying to take the franchise forwards with the likes of Hejduk, Stastny and Smyth.

Flames end 2008 on a Great note, 5 points between Vancouver, for the North West, 3 game winning streak. and Kiprusof 1st in games won. Two points for Iggy.

I must say, HK, you're news updates do get a little frivolous sometimes. I can go to three or four different sites and get the information you're giving us. Why don't you talk about issues with your club or other clubs instead of just posting when the Flames are doing good.

Speaking of getting pissed at our clubs, BUFFALO! They're not living up to their potential. They have about 5-6 guys who make over $4 million, and only two of them seem to be performing up to speed, and that would be Thomas Vanek and Derek Roy. Vanek has really come into his own, but there is no way he wins the Rocket Richard, not with Ovie coming around. It also doesn't look like Jeff Carter will be letting up anytime soon, either. Roy's stringed a few good games together so I like his play lately.

Ovechkin, man that guy is just going out and owning. How Buffalo kept him off the scoresheet the other night, who knows (not to mention that the rest of the Capitals pretty much found the back of the net). Crosby, not so much. He keeps diminishing it seems, and he's been very very streaky lately... and I mean ugly streaky.

Eastern Conference standings, as always, are very tight from 2nd to 11th. Western is even tighter all the way through. Interesting to see how the whole season will play out. I'm kind of hoping the Blackhawks catch up to Detroit. I really like this team and where they've gone. I see them as Cup Contenders. Their only challenge now is to beat Detroit, haha.

What makes you say that? They are living up to the reality of losing a few of the bigger stars, such as Briere, Drury and Campbell and the other stars haven't really done a bad job, considering the gaping holes that have appeared.

Vanek has really come into his own, but there is no way he wins the Rocket Richard, not with Ovie coming around.

Vanek and Roy have stepped up nicely, plus Miller's doing alright in goal - you can't blame him for the decrease in quality in front of him.

I'm quite happy having Roy and Ovechkin both on my fantasy team - they've bumped me up to 4th in the league, with a legitimate shot at top over the next few months.

Crosby, not so much. He keeps diminishing it seems, and he's been very very streaky lately... and I mean ugly streaky.

AO is taking the game to people and it's helping, as the team is receiving the morale boost and are playing better because of it - Johnson's having one hell of a year between the pipes as well, especially when the coach is going to put the hot glove in each time out.

As regards the Pens, that team is now being led by Malkin. Don't know what's happened out there to Sid, but he's not the player he was 12 months ago. Possibly people know what he's going to try, so we've got to wait and see on him for his next step, when he tries something no-one expects.

I see them as Cup Contenders. Their only challenge now is to beat Detroit, haha.

They couldn't quite hold their lead last night, but that's hockey for you.
