I'm implying that Chris Chelios is terrible and has been for well over a decade, if that wasn't obvious.

That's ok, I think I need a delete post button, because i definitely meant "Chelios", not Lidstrom.

Not the point. He still wants to play and clubs are still willing to pay him a wage for doing that.

-.-

And why have you guys put the draft date back?! I can't make that, as I've got work tomorrow! I was even ready to be online for it as well!

Oilers finally won their first pre-season game against Florida in a shootout.

This season for the Oilers looks nothing but trouble.

Feel free to log in to the fantasy league and actually accept/reject all the trades I keep sending you already.

I rejected them lol.

Sorry, they were just not good trades for me but for you yeah.

Two players combining for 161 points versus two of your players for 111.

You're not ever going to get anything that much in your favor

Yeah well for my first time I'll just see how things go.

I am pretty stubborn on making trades though i guess. I do that a lot when playing Monopoly. I would like never trade stuff.

That's a smart move. That's generally what I'm doing for this season. Unless the trade is absolutely even before the season starts, I wouldn't take the gamble on it. Trades are more for the end of the season, anyways. At that point, you can make alliances with another team if you're good and they're shitty, and the other way around. Except for me. Anybody.... seriously ANYBODY, I need goaltending. My best bet is Tim Thomas getting hurt or Olaf Kolzig winning the starting job over Smith. Seriously, I got shafted in the 'tending department.

Yeah, I got a pretty bad deal with tenders as well... Huet shouldn't do bad for me, but I had to pick up Smith to go along with Raycroft and Josh Tjordman of the Coyotes... Should I drop him or not? I've never heard of this guy...

At this point, I'm keeping all the goalies I can, just hoping that one of them at least cracks the lineup for a while (*cough Fernandez cough*)

Bad start to the season for Peter Budaj. Two games and both the same result - a loss from a goal conceded in the last 15 seconds of play.

No question that Colorado is putting up the offensive clout at the start of the season, but we can't seem to get the issues which cost us last year sorted. We need some quality defence and a goalie who won't choke. Andrew Raycroft might make a start soon and see if he can push Budaj for the starters job.

Well, it's a nice way to make your mark on the NHL, isn't it?

At 23, it seems like he's ready to take on the kids of the NHL, being older than both Crosby and Ovechkin (even though it's barely 6 months on dear old AO :P)

At this age, he should be ready to take on the league. He scored 79 points in 49 games for HC Boras in Sweden 2 seasons ago. Granted, it's a lower standard, but it's getting the practical ice time in the NHL that will prove if he can hack it. After now 2 games, I'd say it's game on

Rightfully so, leading the league with 7 goals, along with 9 points, Thomas Vanek takes the NHL's first star for the week. Way to go, TV.

A good start to the year for Vanek.

For some reason, the Avs are starting to roll, despite their leaky defence. A few keys to this could be the offensive capabilities of Messrs Hejduk, Smyth, Stastny and Sakic. Good to see that we can still string something together, though we need to get ourselves some more solid defense, if ever we want to press for the cup.

Anyways, in the interests of world peace.... I apologize to everyone I was a douche bag to, namely Tluck, Very Proud of Ya, and others.... now then with that out of the way, let us continue to be amazed at our players' invincibility to get up from very painful bone crushing collusion... I still wish Nolan played for us. He's like a tank...

so any guesses if this is the year that Chelios shatters like a Ming Vase?

Oilers seem to be doing good now as they're now on a 2-game winning streak that they will probably end next game.

So yeah... I'm quite sad at the moment :*(

Just an elbow injury. He tore the biceps. Not like injuries are frequent for him

Weekes had a good win tonight. He needed it.

Yeah, but he's getting older - how much longer can he carry on doing 85%+ of the starts for the Devils? He's got to think about reeling himself in, so that he's still got something left for the playoffs.

Weekes had a good win tonight. He needed it.

Yeah, and the Devils need him to stay good for the duration of Marty's injury.

Avs need a win big time, to stop this skid. A very streaky start to the season and we need to get up there with some decent performances here and now.
