Reviews for "How To Animate Walking"

nice..

i will have to look at this again someday. i have different ways of how i make my characters walk.

Stew-Ped responds:

I would like to see them.

Nice...

I got to say it was very helpful.

well done

Nice job u've done on this movie. I like it. Some quality entries today. 3/5

nice tutorial

Tutorials are always good, if done right, since there's always someone who can benefit from it and learn something. You obviously did it to help others, and I respect that. That was pretty cool how you made that stick man move. Nice animation. :)

Stew-Ped responds:

That's exactly why I did it. I hope at the least, that some people benefit from it. I know there's plenty out there who already know this stuff, but plenty who don't.

eh...

I've been using Flash for 3 years, not much help here. Basically what I tell people when making walking is to use keyframes and NOT motion tweens for the love of God. Of course, if they aren't the artistic type and don't know how people move their joints (you'd be surprised how many people don't seem to fuck it up) this would be useful. Still nothing amazing, and I think a 10 would be ridiculous.

Stew-Ped responds:

Keyframes is definately the way to go. I draw each frame separately unless I've got a long walking loop, then I draw the frames for one complete step, then copy the frames. I still have to go back and move the guy into the correct position though.
