Reviews for "Spectrum"

Pretty nice

But is this fun? Probably not. Is it quite stylish? Probably is. The fact is Spectrum does what it sets out to do, but it has low ambitions. It's undenyable that this is a well put together piece of flash, but it's a game at the end of the day, and as nice as it is, it's lacking basic substance. There's nothing wrong with a simple game, but it needs that basic groundwork in other to function properly as a game. Spectrum, despite featuring powerups and lots of different songs (and the ability to upload your own songs), is little more than selecting green orbs. A shame

Decent but needs to be cleaned up a bit

Graphics aren't special, and sometimes a bit to 'flashy'
But it does seem innovative enough to pass and Music was decent.
Now, I really love the idea of being able to put in your own song. But if you add the idea, than you have to make sure that it works, cause whatever I try, it always gives me "Spectrum data can't be read" after it loads the song from the site (even when I try the game on you site) So I hope you can fix it somehow.
Oh and you should put the seizure warning in the game itself before you can play instead of in the comment.

Glaiel-Gamer responds:

meh the loading thing is a pain, it's not the flash's fault it can't load a song cause the code is right. It has to do with server settings and flash player security settings (right click -> about flash player 9, navigate the site for security settings manager).

Anyhow glad you enjoyed it!

Dissapointment.

When I saw previews of this game a while back, I'm like, Woah. That certainly is interesting. You went overboard with the strobe, the game isn't cool at all, I figure the only games that will win this contest are GREAT non laggy graphics, and Notes that actually fucking sync to the song. Aside from that good show, and good luck.

Pop the bubbles.. not a rhythm game.

Graphics - They were fine, although they must have been ripped from WMP or something. -.-

Style - Boring concept. Oh, and it's not a rhythm game. Add some arrows etc..

Sound - Strange music ranging from drums to orchestras in the same song, usually ending in some horrible screech. I think rock music would be good..

Violence - N/A

Interactivity - All the buttons work I guess.. Controls were sort of difficult to use seeing as there were thousands of dots around. Like I said use some sort of arrow / button system.

Humor - N/A

Other - Can you please compress your files? I don't want to spend 15 minutes waiting for it to load. And if you have compressed them then cut bits out.. I don't know what you were using all the memory for.

Overall - Doesn't really strike me as a rhythm game. Simple gameplay with not much special about it.

Glaiel-Gamer responds:

not ripped from WMP, generated dynamically using new features with AS3 (flash 9)

dear god

That might've caused permanent damge to my eyes. I gave you a 10 for sound because we oculd provide our own music, a ten for violence because of the abuse it does to one's eyes and the graphics and style are rated because of this as well. Interactivity is low because of how hard it is to actually play this game. In addition to what I've said before, it also hurt that you failed to explain how to even play this game. The seizure warnign is nice, but you should also add that t puts enormous strain on the eyes :P
