Reviews for "Overrun II"

Great shoot 'em up game

Anyone working on a flash game of their own should absolutely try this game out to understand how paying attention to detail separates the turds from the gold.

Everything from the graphics to the sound effects to the choice of music shows that a lot of thought and effort went into this.

I salute you for an amazing piece of work here.

Denvish responds:

Heh, thank you for appreciating the work behind the game *salutes back*

Gotta say... Very fun and addictive!

Beautiful work man... Although yes the audio did get repetitive at times, this was a challanging and very fun game to play... I really do hope to see another episode in the overrun series sometime soon! (Ok maybe not too soon... I know the good stuff takes work and time)

Denvish responds:

I don't think there'll be a follow-up, I can't really think of many ways to improve on this. Sorry about the audio, I wanted to include as many snippets as possible to encourage people to go listen to AP artists, so the loops I cut were rather short.

Fantastic!

I think shindigshawn should stop being a bitch and play on a level harder than 'easy'. It got very difficult at points, and it was fun to be able to use upgrades. Great graphics too. Very cool game!

Denvish responds:

Heh. Thanks for saving me from a review response rant, I've pissed too many people off in the past when I've got angry at negative reviews. Fortunately, there haven't been too many of them so far. Thanks for the review, glad you liked the game.

Hrrm

Crap music, Nothing too interesting, gets boring fast, just spin and shoot things, if you keep upgrading gun its easy, Sorry i don't like it..

Denvish responds:

Ouch.

I've never given anything seven tens before.

However, now is the time to give these seven tens. The humour, though sparse, was excellent.

The graphics were just plain professional - the sort of thing you'd see in a professional video game, but better.

Everything was perfect. The radar was great, especially that you could see the distance of the enemies - though I'd have liked some distinction between what powerup was which on the radar - it was just awesome.

Not having huge blood and gore was great, and to compare any other game on Newgrounds to this would make the other game, no matter how good, look like your average Turd of the Week.

The powerups, in the store and the free ones outside the store, were well made.

However, my only complaint is that Easy might have been a bit - eh, how do you say it - TOO easy? I didn't have to use any smart bombs or shockwaves, and my turret was never breached.

Perfect.

Denvish responds:

THANK YOU for the great review and the 10s. Yeah, the Easy level was supposed to be a walkover - for those players unexperienced at these sort of games. It gets a little harder towards the end, but never really panic mode - the idea being that if you fancy a challenge, you head for Medium or Hard. You should use shockwaves regardless, since you get points every time you use them. I appreciate your comments, thanks for taking the time to review...
