Reviews for "Overrun II"

It's okay

Well, overall, Overrun 2 is a pretty good game. I haven't played the first Overrun, so this isn't a comparison. The only problem was the game got boring quickly. There just isn't enough variety to keep me interested. The enemies just seemed to differ in health and position and there was only one weapon (not including the room-clearing weapons). There just isn't anything to hold one's attention that long.

However, that isn't to say the game's bad. In fact, it was pretty good. The graphics were good and the sound/music was great. So, there's just that one problem impeding the game. Besides that, a good game!

Hmmm, I guess I underestimated the addictiveness of competing for the highscore table. There are actually 10 weapons (well, 4 different gun graphics, 10 different bullets) but I guess you didn't play long enough to upgrade.

I can't say much that the last reviewer didn't.

But I can say again that this is a really great game.

Great, great work. This Flash gets my fives, and goes in my favorites list.

Appreciated!

Amazing

Absolutely Stunning. This game is perfect.

Graphics: The graphics alone make me giddy. These are smooth, well made and thought out graphics. They also move uniquely, and almost never get tiring. This is also a semi-new style to submissions scoring above 4.

Style: The style of this game has been repeated and reused time and time again. However, you bring a new look and enemies to it, and I do like the style to begin with. I suppose it can't be helped if this is the type of game it is, but how you presented it made all the difference.

Sound: 16 loops, death sounds, guns, and more. This aced sound hands down. The only thing I would change is maybe use more of the songs, but use less, or make them random, thus a bit more sound, though less variety.

Violence: It's whats this game is about. Kill things before they kill you. I did like, however, that you really did not include any gore or blood. Just simple collapses showing the enemy stopped, or explosions. Very good job, you made it violent, AND a 7 year old can play it with parents watching.

Interactivity: You made almost everything upgradeable, however, I was unhappy with the price of armor. Maybe it could be lowered to be a little more affordable at times in the game.

Humor: Dem birds.. dem crazy birds...

Overall: A well presented and thought out game. Very few if any flaws. The graphics are wonderful, and have a style and sound about them that make everything just flow, and make this one of my most favorite games on Newgrounds. Great work!

Thanks for the in-depth review. I was attempting a 'Groundbreaker' (see Afro_Ninja's NG SIM), and I don't think it was too far off the mark. It's always a pleasure when someone sees past the game and comments on the things that I spent literally months getting correct - so thanks very much for the review.

eh

Well, basically being the same thing as Overrun, I just can't like it much. I was thoroughly bored after not ten levels. Just rinse and repeat... the upgrades do not add nearly enough of an impact to hold my interest.

Harsh

Much fucking love.

This is beta than Overrun. I bet this will make first page without a panic, this game is so damn addictive. I love the first person view action and everything. Plus you can shop and save your data. It's the best. I love the forest setting and the control configurations are just perfect.

Denvish responds:

Glad you appreciate the improvements, I did my best
