Reviews for "The Big Fat Tutorial"

wow great

man this was some really helpful stuff u animated there. and really creative 2 do a tutorial that way. i liked it!

Helbereth responds:

It was fun making all that stuff. I figured I might as well make it lively. No sense in boring people to tears - they learn nothing that way.

Thanks for the review!

WooT...

That is a great tutorial. There's some really nice effects. Gotta try that one sometimes. *adds to favourites*

Helbereth responds:

Thanks. Good luck with your future flash projects!

Thanks for the review!

Turbo12 just so you know

Most of the stuff in this Tutorial you can't learn from just downloading the Program and searching for them. It will just show you basic stuff but this Tutorial IMOH is GRRRREEEAT!!!! nice job! Also there is a nice tool in there you can't just find.

Helbereth responds:

Thanks, I needed this after that horrendously underwhelming review. Who needs tutorials when we have help files and expensive classes we can't learn anything from?

I hope turbo12 never gets flash, because there's enough auto-blam crap in the portal already...

But I digress...

Thanks for the review!

This tutorial is the bomb!

And I can't wait for another one from you. This was really well made, and very in depth on the subjects you included. Since this one concentrated on an outside scenerio, may I suggest maybe having some instruction on interior type scenes for the next one? (like... lighting effects, perspective and dynamic camera angles, using color for mood effectively...) I'm just rambling on now, but I'm really looking forward to what you put out next :D thank you for taking the time to help out some newbies who might have a lot of potential, who maybe need just a few more skillz. ;)

Helbereth responds:

I basically designed it for the special kind of newbies who merely lack the technical savvy to translate their wealth of imaginings into viable flash.

That sounds all technical, I know, but after responding to 200 reviews I have this down to a science). My next tutorial will be creating entire settings and sequences of animation. I'll probably do something on editing (movie-like editing). My brother wants to do a section on scripting (not actionscript, mind you).

It should be pretty extensive.

Thanks for the review!

Nice!

I finally get it! Especially liked the scripted camera, saved me a lot of time. For the people who don't get and get text in their screen instead of a working camera, paste it into the tab "Actions-Frame" instead of the frame itself.
