Just try to come up with something like "Depressed old man with a limp" then try to create a walk for him.

i'm gonna start doing that after i get most of the angles of a normal walk cycle down
and doing all those does give me practise because in the book it'll show 3 frames and i had to draw the rest of them (13 frames if im doing it on 16's)

Fenix, in that book he says about working to a character for a walk cycle, so for example a fat guy, a guy who bounces up as his foot falls etc, well for a practice why don't you try doing a zombie. Idea being it gets you thinking about timing and stuff, zombies may pause as they are walking, there limbs will move weirdly etc.

Just thought I'd post because I haven't been here in a while.

If you don't get it, it's basically just a drawing inspired by a Muse song.

This is a character I've designed for a game I'm hoping to make this winter. The game is called Frostbite.

A quick little rotoscoping test I did - It's a lot harder than I thought it would be, I'm gonna attempt to do a small rotoscope of some film next. And I won't outline the hair next time, that part didn't turn out so good.

Awesome. The dark lines really make the image "pop" in my opinion. Well done.

the point in rotoscoping is that everything is SUPPOSED to be bold and very stylish, love the stuff man, rotoscoping sounds like fun, but very time consuming, picking colors and what not. :)

but man, if you can do it, try to animate something >.>

Wow, that looks really cool. I cant draw people to the faces too good, i never put like the bone detail in, and things like that. I just make a faily flat looking circle, present time? :)

Nice effect, but i think it looks better if the outlines were darker tints of the area colour they close in. E.G Dark blue for the left side of the shirt, dark skin color for the nose outlines etc

it is very simple really. i would like some more detail, and some shading would be nice as well. Looking good so far though, good job.

The shinyness doesnt bother me but the soft shadows do, it seems like if things are that shiny and the light is that intense then the shadows created would be sharper.
