I gotta give creative some props. Booking Orton to win the rumble normally would have ended the show with a ton of boos, but having him do it over Roman was genius.
That said, when Roman's music hit at #30 (I was hoping so bad Balor was going to be the last guy), and nobody I was really excited about was left in the ring, I almost turned the fucking TV off.
It wasn't the worst Rumble in recent years, but there seemed to be very little magic about it. The big names like Lesnar, Goldberg and Taker were just short pops, and I think Tye Dillenger was about the only semi surprise entrant.
After the previous matches, the lack of any fun magic was disappointing.
Here's the silver lining I see happening though. Orton wins a title with Bray's help. Orton turns on Bray (which won't surprise anyone, now that's he's successfully gotten Harper out of the family), and Bray can finally get a shot as champion in the post Mania season.
Cena is the current champ, but I have a feeling he'll lose it at Elimination chamber. This win of his was important to tie Flair's record, but the really important win he needs to seal his place in history is the one that BREAKS the record. And to do that, he has to drop the belt first.
Also, god damn taker looks like shit. Between the bad hair dye and the sagging gut, it's hard to take him seriously now. He was moving pretty slow too, and couldn't get the boots up very high. He's almost tarnishing his own legacy at this point.

I figure Bray picks up the belt in the Elimination Chamber, and Orton challenges him at Mania.

Right before Roman came out at #30, I was damn excited at all of the possibilities. All of the named entrants had come out and we were due for a huge surprise. Who would WWE end the Rumble with? HHH? Kurt Angle? Samoa Joe? Kenny Omega? Nakamura? Balor? Any one of those would have been fresh and exciting and could have added some extra flavor to a Rumble that had been pretty devoid of good surprises.
And then THE BIG DOG came out and I felt like I had gotten punched in the gut. Why did he get to be in the Rumble? Within the world of kayfabe, what if he had won the title earlier that night? Would he have gotten to unite the belts? Why didn't Styles also get a second chance? It was infuriating.
It was as if you gave me a present. Anything could be inside! Just kidding. It's a dog turd.
Yuck. I'm fine with Randy winning as he's a talented enough guy, but that ending really left a bad taste in my mouth. It's just sad that I can't really recall the last Rumble match that I was really content with all the way through.

I agree with this. Roman is terrible, and should not be allowed to win the Rumble.

Not a Cena fan, and not looking forward to him bragging about beating Flair's record.

I totally agree. Hopefully, Taker retires soon before he embarrasses himself even more.

Vince will be that 30th entrant and will win it then face Undertaker and WM in a title/career match,
Yes I think suicide is funny and I am sick of pretending its not.

That would of been funny, but it did not happen that way. You can look forward to Randy Orten at Wrestlemania.
My predictions for elimination chamber
Bray Wyatt (WWE Championship Elimination chamber match)
Natalya
Heath Slater & Rhyno (SD Tag team championship tag team turmoil match)
Alexa Bliss (SD women's championship match)
Mickie James
Dolph Ziggler (Handicap Match)
Randy Orton

I am really looking forward to this on RAW. This has been one of the best story lines in a long time.

Cool to see Bray with the belt and I loved how the final two men in the chamber were Styles and Bray with Cena getting pinned by Wyatt.
Was shocked Ziggler didn't win. I was convinced his match was meant to finally make him look strong as a credible heel threat.
Not a spectacular PPV tonight, but it was pretty good and I was satisfied with it!

You could actually see the disappointment in the crowd's faces when American Alpha buried The Ascension after being assaulted by The Usos. This was their fucking moment damn it, they had new face-paint and everything.
Happy to see that Bray Wyatt won the WWE Championship. He should keep it and continue to be the main heel on Smackdown.

Bray, to me, is this generation's Jake Roberts. His promo and ring psychology is on that same level. I think he's going to be a face, but just like Jake was, he'll remain a dark character. Without his 'family', that psychology will be his primary weapon, and he can be that same character no matter what his fan alignment is.
Mania will be interesting. Will they let him keep the belt and explore what his character can be, or will they be more worried about having Orton move toward breaking HHH's number of title runs or some other stat based bullshit they can tout.
Either way, Cena wins it back in a few months anyway just because.

I really like Bray's gimmick. I think after Randy screws him, he should ditch the family concept. Unless, they want to give him a girl, Sister Abigail. I would be interested in some of that backstory.

Letting Bray would be a great idea, so the WWE will not do it. They will let Orton and Cena trade the belt back and forth until they hit stupid numbers.

John Cena is still awful. I would rather see AJ win it than Cena.

As usual, Chris Jericho was the best part of RAW. Once he left, the entire show went downhill. Ratings will go down once he goes on vacation.
I rather enjoyed the Women's match. They did a great job selling the focused assault on Bailey's neck, and told a pretty good story of perseverance. Most of the men can't tell a story that well in the ring.
I gotta be honest though. Until the finish, I forgot Dana Brooke was on the show haha.

I never liked Charlotte. I hated the way she started off with her dad next to her, and kept reminding everybody she was Ric's daughter. It is also annoying how they continue to give her the belt just to increase the amount of times she has won it. Her winning streak at PPV's is also really stupid.

Dana Brooks is okay, but they should do more with her.

Vince loves Cena and Reigns. He will keep trying to shove them down our throats.
i posted something I meant to post in the Cinema Club here by mistake, so here is an edit to remove it.
I have not been following the product closely so don't have much to say. KO vs Jericho is going to be pretty great, yeah?

It is sad that former best friends have to fight, but yes it should be a great match. Jericho will probably job to Owens, because he has to go back on tour with his band.

They ended it exactly when they should have. WWE is terrible for dragging out something great to the point of no one caring (see: The New Day). Breaking them up when their friendship was still hugely entertaining gets Owens more heat, and the way they did it makes Jericho an instantly sympathetic babyface. They've not got the timing this perfect since breaking up The Shield.

Yeah I stopped watching because Cena won the title so many times and Edge retired. also CM Punk quitting.

I agree that they did time the ending at the right time. Jericho should be able to win the match, but due to his band he will have to lose again. They really make him lose way too often.

You were smart to stop watching. You got to avoid the crusierweights and Divas trying to take over the show. Chris Jericho has been one of the few bright spots in WWE and he will be leaving soon.

Does anybody think giving Goldberg any title is a good idea? I know Owens has to lose, but I would rather see Brock win it.

Yeah cruiserweight matches are enjoyable, Divas are only good for fapping to. Y2J is one of the best, definitely Hall of Fame worthy.

I thought Goldberg was facing Brock then quitting after that again. So Cena will get it again.

Y2J is defiantly GOAT. He did this festival of friends that was comedy gold.

Owens loses to Goldberg who loses to Brock, but Cena is on Smackdown. Brock will have to lose to a guy on RAW like Rollins or Owens.
