Hated that finish with HHH winning from the #30 spot, but this was a really good Rumble match. Loved seeing AJ Styles and Sami Zayn mix it up and thought that most of the action was really good. Wish they would have just given the belt to Dean and given us a feel-good moment and then gotten the belt on HHH later.
Can't wait for the 40 minute Authority on tomorrow's episode of Raw talking about how HHH is awesome because he has the title again.

Triple H is the champion again. Don't you hate it when the boss becomes the champion. Pretty weak sauce.

We will see how this all plays out on RAW. Will the crowd cheer, boo, or not care about Triple H as the new champion.
They fucked up Rusev, Breeze and Axel just to get Reigns and AJ over at the start.
Wanted Jericho/Bray to win when they managed to stay till the final stretch.
Other than that it was a pretty good match.

Not nearly as much as i would've hated if Dean or Reigns had won.
Look at the bright side. With HHH winning, the Regns v Authority angle enters its final chapter. And then we should have Rollins back shortly after to mix things up.
The set up all the major stories they wanted. Zane is gunning for Owens, Brock has business with Bray, AJ Styles is here and means business, and Roman has one more hill to climb via H.
With the depleted roster, this was a pretty safe Rumble, but pretty much how I would have booked it myself. The general audience that makes WWE all its money marked out for HHH (after booing the shit out of Roman), so creative must be pretty happy.

AJ Styles is a big name and they need to give him a push. Would rather see him than boring Reigns.

Vince is going to keep a death grip on pushing wwe-made talent; AJ will not get a major push from the top. Any success he finds will be because he pulls a CM Punk/Daniel Bryan and gets the fans behind him so much THEY have to push him or risk a riot.
This will be harder for guys like AJ and Joe too because they aren't just famous indy stars, they are TNA originals. WWE has no problems mentioning certain promotions by name, like NJPW and ROH. But they NEVER mention TNA by name. They do not want that promotion legitimized, and having Joe or AJ as top guys does exactly that (or at least I imagine Vince thinks so). AJ might be okay long term if the Bullet Club shows up and they get over as well as the Shield did.
It's a shame too because AJ and Joe both work in a great oldschool/indy hybrid style that would benefit WWE. If you look at guys like Sammy, or Finn, they are very much about the newer indy style.
Its no secret that style of wrestling is a LOT higher risk. Its a big part of why we have so many injured superstars right now. And with the way WWE has pushed so hard to overcome all the controversies of drug use and concussions, I don't think they are going to allow that style of wrestling to become the norm.
It works for the indies the same way Extreme worked for ECW in the day, because they are smaller promotions with lighter work schedules. If you pull a muscle in ROH, you don't have to work with (and potentially complicate) that manageable injury the next night. In WWE, you gotta be ready to go 5+ days a week if you plan on being a main event guy.
Guys like Zayne and Balor are either going to shine very brightly, then burn out fast like Daniel Bryan appears to have done, or they will just be kept on the midcard like Neville before them where they can be saved for fun spots, but not be used up too fast.
In the long run, WWE has to worry about a LOT more than just what stars are gonna make the audience happy. Reigns is a smart investment. He's someone different than Cena. He works a style that's lower risk for serious injuries. He can get away with that style because he's a big guy, so simpler moves can be sold easier with him.

I did call it. Thanks for pointing it out.
Miami's RAW was one of the best in a long time. AJ Styles vs. Jericho. The NEW Day with a new trumpet. Flo Rida for some reason.
Ending of Raw was interesting. I knew Brock was a red herring at the Rumble match, but there's a decent chance they will try leaning on him to sell the title match at Mania now, given the crowd's reaction to Roman almost winning the rumble.
If that's the case, either Reigns or (more likely) Ambrose will start a heel turn at Fastlane and those two will have a grudge match the crowd might actually get behind.
I guess it really depends on how bad they wanna keep going with the Lesnar/Wyatt angle. If you don't see any more promos that hint at Bray gunning for Brock, that could be a tip that he's winning the triple threat.
It is a little sad they blew the chance for HHH vs the Rock this year. That would have been a great blast from the past match, and wouldn't even need the title involved to put asses in seats.
That said, it does help blur how Rock will impact Mania. If Raw was an indication of his role, could he team with the Uso's vs the New Day? Or does his involvement pretty much guarantee Roman wins at Fastlane and Rock is in his corner for Mania?
I think if we keep an eye on how the Wyatts and New day get booked over the next couple of weeks, Fastlane will become easy to predict.
I'm curious how they are going to fluff out the rest of the card going into Mania though. They have more than enough time to set a feud up for Styles. Who so you guys think his rival is going to be (and will it involve the Bullet Club)?
First Raw I've watched (almost) all the way through in ages. Skipped Bray and Kane, the Total Divas match and the main event.
What a foolish idea. Back to just watching New Day segments for me!

The Rock works best in small doses. They will probably have him be in the corner of his family, The Usos and/or Reigns.
I really want The Undertaker to face Reigns for his retirment match. Also, it would be really good if Reigns turned heel. I hope Ambrose faces Triple H at Wrestlemania 32. Maybe, Lesnar vs The Wyatt family?
Lesnar wins the three way match at Fastlane. Reigns will fight Ambrose at Wrestlemania. Lesnar vs, Triple H would be a good match for the championship.

No, Reigns is already over exposed.
The only diluting stipulation is why the hell is HHH even champion?
Triple H wanted another title reign and to give Reigns another future title reign. They trade the belts so much it gets sickening. I miss the days when the champion could keep a belt for at least a year if not longer.

So you want CENAWINSLOL back?
Bret Hart's in a fight with prostate cancer.
All the best for the guy, hope he pulls through and his surgery is a success. We've lost so many legends lately, losing Bret as well would be too much for a wrestling fan.

I wish Bret Hart all the best. He is a great wrestler.

It would be sad to lose Bret Hart and we would mourn him. However his impact wasn't as big as a lot of people think it was. If anything he helped launch stars than he did launching himself as a star. He helped launch Shawn Michaels and Stone Cold Steve Austin. However he was kept in Hulk Hogan's shadow.

Bret Hart had an okay run in WWE and a good run in WCW. He worked with the nWo and often feuded with Sting.
To be fair, many wrestlers were in Hulk Hogan's Shadow.
There better be a great RAW tonight. The other big sporting event was a let down.

He's probably the best in ring worker of his generation.
RAW was dragged out last night. Just counting down until Wrestlemania.
Given how many coaches the PC seems to go through, I could see Bryan taking a teaching role to stay involved. Could even follow in the steps of is mentor, William Regal as an on-air figurehead for NXT. A master like Bryan could produce some amazing students...
