Just saw todays SD. Not bad, some good matches.

I like how they gave Justin Gabriel some solo time today, he did pretty well. Poor Cody Rhodes, this is either going to lead up to some vacation time for him or a silly mask. He's done all he could to sell his "face freak outs".

On another note, poor Alex Riley. When are they actually going to push him and stop having him be a lakey?

I wouldn't feel sorry for him, he is performing a role and doing it brilliently.
He is facing the biggest names in the WWE every week, main eventing RAW on occasion. He is getting more quality mic time then most superstars. He is starting to get some decent heat.
I don't think a push will come for a far while yet, there is no rush.
It is entertaining seeing him get punished every time he steps near the ring.

I suppose I just want ot see him actually wrestle, but he has shown promise in his occassional matches. He is a good character though as you mentioned. It is similar to how I feel about Dolph Ziggler, he is an excellent wrestler, great on the mic, but I find Vicky to be like a distracting wart.

Slowly but surely getting back into WWE after about 3 years, anything I should know? I've just finished watching last night's SD! and I'm watching Raw from 1/17/11 now.

Have I mentioned that I am TOTALLY excited for the royal rumble.
My fav PPV by far and I think this year is going to be awesome.

My pick to win. John Morrison. Will that happen? You know it won't.

But who cares, Nexus/Corre/John Cena adds enough interest to sell the match.
Add in Alberto Del Rio, who is going to be eliminated with prejeduce and all the other unexpected twists and turns.

One more week! Ahhh!!

Morrison would be a good pick to win it, but I have this horrible feeling that they're going to give it to Cena. Besides that there's not too many people outside of Sheamus or Del Rio I can imagine that would be qualified to have a shot at WM. I've also heard that HHH could come back as a surprise and win it, another move they don't need.

I'm also interested to see how the Nexus and the Corre (stupid choice on how to spell that out) fight each other in the Rumble.

Yeah, no. He's pretty much said that he's done with wrestling now. So the chance of him returning at the Rumble are little to none.

Jericho's on hiatus.

My pick is Del Rio to win it honestly. If not Del Rio, then it should be another young guy like a Morrison. It's a transition Mania to me and you need at least one title match where a young guy is going to be elevated.

I don't think Del Rio will win, I think he'll be in the final 4, but he won't win. However, Money In The Bank is looking good for him.
Sadly, I think Cena's getting the Rumble win this year... I've heard Cena vs Miz is in line for WM and last week they started to show hints that it's happening, and what better way to confirm it with Cena winning the Rumble.

But who I'd like to see win? Honestly, I'd like to see Punk get the win this year. Over the years Punk has won World Titles then quietly went back to upper midcard fueds with guys like Big Show and Mysterio. I think winning the rumble while in charge of this new Nexus would solidify his main event status.

Del Rio is no chance of winning, so much boasting saying its his destiny. He should have a target on him with everyone going after him.

I don't think Del Rio will win, I think he'll be in the final 4, but he won't win. However, Money In The Bank is looking good for him.

I dont want him to be in mitb either. He shouldnt need it to challenge for the title. Its so cheap. Im over mitb.

Cena is always an option that is hard to look past, but the Nexus really SHOULD be able to eliminate him.

But who I'd like to see win? Honestly, I'd like to see Punk get the win this year.

However, when cena is eliminated.. I wouldnt be suprised to see punk go over the top rope at the same time.

Morrisson for the win.

Much as I like the idea of Punk vs. Barrett, I really don't like the idea that the losing group would be out of the Rumble, there's no reason for it and I have to hope there's some sort of "get out of jail free card" here because to me all members of both groups should be put into the Royal Rumble. It'd be a good story that could play out throughout the match as you sort of see that "war games" like "luck of the draw" sub plot in the larger plot of "who will take it all?" It's too good an idea to just toss away to hopefully pop a tv rating.

Time for Miz vs. Edge, which again, insane match to be running the week before a PPV.

I would love to see Punk win the Rumble, but I don't think it will happen this year, although they should let him win it one these days. My reasoning is that Punk vs Cena at WM seems logical. They won't end that feud on TV, the next ppv is the Rumble, and after that, the Elimination Chamber, which I'm guessing Punk and Cena will both be in. But maybe I'm getting too far ahead of myself.

I guess Morrison and ADR are the most practical choices, even though ADR is really new to the company, they obviously have a rocket underneath him. And they are keeping Morrison pretty close the main even scene, so they can really pull him in at any time, although if Morrison wins, it changes my prediction for the chamber.

Also, I wouldn't be shocked at all if Hunter returned to win it, since they love doing that stunt.

So yeah, my prediction for the Raw Chamber is Mix, Orton, Punk, Cena, Morrison, and Sheamus. Probably will be changed after Sunday though. I'm never too confident with my predictions.

I've explained my 2-week disappearance on my blog. I'm still here.

Don't worry, avie; both groups are still in the Rumble. What Cena tried to do was genius, but still, had it held, yeah, the Rumble would've lost something major.

In speaking of that, I expected Slater & Gabriel to go solo, until I quickly remembered that they could just go to SD & get back together with Barrett. Zeke joining them, I didn't expect, but it's a great move since we already know he's future ME material, and he hasn't had anything solid to do for a while. One thing, though: What IS that extra 'r' for?

Regarding the 'New' Nexus, this Mason Ryan fellow looks promising enough. Guess I'm not the only one who thought "Batista cloned himself?" when I first saw him. Another FCW champ, eh? Well, that's a good way to start - Gabriel can attest to that.

Interesting way for a certain 3 Divas to get screentime again.............while openly acknowledging that they haven't been receiving said screentime. Whether or not the Bellas deserve it, I don't care as much, but Gail DEFINITELY needs it. We all know she's one of the best on the roster, but she's been handed shit on a stick for a while now. Maybe she'd like this place more over TNA if you, well, showed her it IS better, y'know?

I keep getting this feeling that Michael Cole IS the Anonymous GM. It could be played as an elaborate hoax set up by higher-ups to keep the GM secret by giving the power to someone no one would believe in a million years. Hence his massively overinflated ego, and it also explains why Lawler can't lay a finger on him w/o getting fired - since he'd be hitting the GM. I expect Stephanie or Trips or somebody to get sick of him, blow his cover, and end this eventually, preferably with Lawler, Bryan, and Edge all taking turns beating the shit out of him. :P

Glad Shawn's in the HoF; merely deserving it is an understatement.

Tarver's back. Huh. I'd expected Sheffield to return before he would. Believe it or not, I think Tarver has a shot; he just needs some more in-ring experience since his mic skills are pretty good.

How many people think Trips will be #40? He's supposed to be back soon, right? Obviously this would be the opportunity to bring him back. This also means I expect Sheamus to be one of the remaining guys by that point, or else a lot of meaning will be lost.

No one has mentioned The Miz and Alex Riley's laugh? that was the highlight of the show.

The Daniel Bryan story was pretty much saved by Daniels "regular guy" persona, he is so cute.

Yay "Batistatwo" spoke, the Nexus needed a new pretty boy and here he is. Hope we get to see him in more action though. Speaking of nexus, the Wade/Punk match was funny but over all pointless, it was really meant to get all of the old and new members in the ring and show some chemistry. I really wanted to see Wade and Punk wrestle.

That was indeed epic. Speaking of epic, holy hell did that sharpshooter at the end of the Diva's match look like it hurt. I know M is super flexable and all but damn.

Why is it spelled Corre? That just looks stupid. Even Cena was like "I just found out there's an extra R in it. I have no idea why..." I'm suprised they didn't go for it spelled like "Kore" since they seem to like really dumb spelling of things.

Miz/Edge was a damn good bout though not as good as it could have been I feel. But it did the job and was worth seeing.

How is Punk a proven failure as a leader? Any group I've seen him lead has succeeded. The S.E.S was kneecapped by Serena being stupid and Mercury getting injured. Had those two things not happened it would be the top heel group on SD! right now, that is not opinion, that is fact based on where I had heard the storyline was going. Harris and McGuillicutty have great potential and were background players under Barrett. Otunga has the charisma, but needs lots of polish which Punk can certainly give him. Gabriel is too small to ever go anywhere of real value I think other then a tag situation, Slater I see potential in but I wonder if all the "the chick from Wendy's" crap is going to kneecap him. Barrett is coming off a couple months or so of truly shitty booking.

Also, Zeke > Batistwo.

That I'll give you. Zeke is probably the best booked and most impressive member of The Corre right now.

Also yeah, spell correctly WWE, it's not edgy and cool to add letters, or change spellings.

Avie, avie avie. I love you man, but how many fucking times do I have to say it. IT'S NOT SERENA'S FAULT! THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE KAYFABE! Really. I said it how many times? About 3? Serena is an awesome wrestler, there's no need to bury her for what was an inept booking decision and Serena herself never really being involved with the kind of Kayfabe the WWE can go to. Personally, there were worst fucking things with the SES (COUGH GETTING BURIED BY THE BIG SHOW COUGH).

Yeah, people with a different (read correct) opinion are obviously idiots.

Daniel Bryan sucks. Have you been watching lately? He has been paired with low rate divas to hide his complete lack of personality. He has got the jobber entrance on RAW week in and week out. He has been hidden in tag matches instead of defending his title against Ted jr and kidd like he should be.
He sucks. Fact.

Awww, I'm so glad you at least started with how much you love me.

IT'S NOT SERENA'S FAULT! THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE KAYFABE! Really.

Source? Because my sources (Mike Johnson, Dave Scherer, Buck Woodward) have an impeccable record and have multiple and myriad sources at all levels of WWE and they reported it had nothing to do with the kayfabe whatsoever. They did NOT demand Serena be straight edge, they demanded Serena fucking behave herself and not party so hard. When she didn't, they cut bait. Same thing happened with Mickey James.

I said it how many times? About 3?

But with no source, where my sources, who I KNOW would not report incorrect news (and if they did, they would correct it and offer a retraction) say different.

Oh, that was absolutely awful, but it absolutely could have, and would have been built back up. Like I say, this insistence that it was over breaking kayfabe is ridiculous since the guys break kayfabe all the time and nobody respects or believes in it anymore. Miz does fucking press and shit as himself, as just Mike Mizanin speaking vs. The Miz speaking. The idea that she was fired over kayfabe breach is amazingly silly to me.

Also Avie, you must ignore Shaun, I hate to be "that guy" but Shaun is either a god damn troll, or at least a god damn idiot. Pick your poison. Either way, no one who is a fan of WRESTLING could and would possibly say a thing and I quote *puts on dorky glasses* "The kid (referring to a 29 year old man named Daniel Bryan Danielson) fucking sucks."

I respect the guys right to his opinion honestly. Sometimes I think the net gets a little caught up in it's own opinions and acts like anyone who doesn't agree must be an idiot or doesn't know what they're talking about. I too have a hard time believing that anyone can honestly say Danielson "sucks" even if they don't particularly enjoy him. But there are people who care little for craft and only for what entertains them on the shows. Which is fine and dandy to me. To each their own.

Also, love you too Matt, nothing personal in any of this, just again I have a hard time seeing where you have this notion Serena's firing is anything other then self-inflicted since everything I heard at the time and have been able to find out since seems to agree with that idea 100%

Heh, I know, I heard that Serena being let go was mostly not her fault. So, there's really not a source for it, but I know, with the direction that the Divas division is going, she will probably return. Granted in a much different role me thinks. Basically, all it says n the wiki page was "she was not 'living out' the straight edge lifestyle in public." This could be interpreted many, many ways. So yeah, If I get clarification I will embrace it.

Ok, well, I have sources I trust (and named) that say it's totally the opposite. So I'll stick to that one :)

but I know, with the direction that the Divas division is going, she will probably return.

I certainly wouldn't rule it out. It might take a little while for it to happen and people to kind of cool off...but it's also true WWE is relaunching the Diva Search so it seems to me they're looking for that next crop of diva "talent" already.

Granted in a much different role me thinks.

It would have to be, and with much less trust I imagine as well.

Basically, all it says n the wiki page was "she was not 'living out' the straight edge lifestyle in public." This could be interpreted many, many ways. So yeah, If I get clarification I will embrace it.

From what I was told it was behavioral. She was partying too much and the company felt she was being a hindrance (WWE has a certain image they want ALL talent to be upholding on the road) so she was informed to stop, more then once. Or at least cool it. Hence why you got the angle where she was in that bar, and when that warning shot didn't work they decided to cut bait and release her. This is what I was told, I'm not sure where the wiki article is sourcing from but I also know how easily rumor starts on the net and incorrect info gets floated.
