haven't watched RAW yet but I saw the Santino/Sheamus/Kozlov segment
my god I haven't laughed so much in a WWE related segment in years... specially the part where Santino thinks Sheamus is angry because as a kid he was left out of fun and games for being a ginger, just to follow up with a 'I HATE GINGERS' sign in the crowd.

pure gold.. Santino is one of the best things to come to WWE, comedy wise.

I think they may be rushing Otunga. The guy has personality without question, but he's still pretty green and sloppy. I understand and agree Nexus can't last forever, but I'd rather as it breaks down and falls apart we get as many of those guys to have fruitful long term futures as possible. Otunga has potential, but his work has got to get better and he's gotta be able to not potentially kill people with that spinebuster and what not. It's a work Dave!!

You've been here since day 1 (well, day 5), and you're still here. Gratz! We've come a long way since the days of Frank, and so has the business in many ways.

Well, looks like the fun and games have come to an end. I must sadly report that at the RAW house show in London William Regal announced his impending retirement after a bout with Daniel Bryan (by god I want footage...). Regal is inarguably one of the best workers in WWE today and despite the personal problems that have plagued him is a rather inspirational talent and I hope WWE will do him right when his actual final bout comes.

I imagine this is a developing story but for right now I'd just like to thank Regal for all he's done to entertain this fan personally. Starting with his great TV Title defenses in WCW that made me a fan of that promotion until it got flushed down the shitter completely, all the way up to now. We will not see his like again.

Very true.. Regal was amazing talent and a hell of a helpful guy from what other wrestlers have said.
I really hope he stays on air as a non wrestling role.. as an announcer or perhaps as the GM.

Whether it's an on-air role or a road agent Regal will be one of those guys who'll be with the company for as long as he can.

HAPPY 900 PAGES!!!! Only fitting our club leader would get the first post in it. ^_^

To agree with the majority here, if you aren't laughing at Santino, then you're seriously fucked up & need to go see a specialist. I believe his comedic value is enough to get himself in the HoF someday - which, if someone said that to me when he was just starting out as a heel, I would've found that person insane.

Sadly, with no disrespect to Mark Henry, as soon as I saw he was on Orton's team, I knew his team was going to lose. Seriously, if there's one guy they shouldn't be booking to be the exact opposite of Cena, it's him.

The "Stand Up" campaign continues, with Dustin breaking the gimmick temporarily for the ad. And, now that it's understood that Mike (Doug) is Mr. Perfect's son, can we PLEASE cease with MCGILLICUTTY!?!?!?!?!?

Shame Lawler's out temporarily; but at least Josh finally gets an opportunity.........despite the fact that he's proven himself enough as it is....

Welcome to our new members. Nice to see a well-known mod (36Holla) here; almost every time I see a locked club thread some noob started, I see your name, heh. :P

Damn. However, if this is his retirment from being on the active roster, but not from the WWE in general, then maybe he can put his talent to good use and be a full time trainer or something. Or perhaps he could open his own school in his home country. I think Regal still has plenty to offer the wrestling world.

Sadly my first exposure to Regal was when he had that awful "Man's Man" gimmick. It wasn't until that was dropped did I get to see him perform and wrestle at his higher potential. I liked his power of the punch gimmick he had though. That was always fun to watch.

I just saw the tea party bit today. Santino is a riot. The crowd was really into it too. Great stuff.

William Regal's retirement announcement
I'm glad he spoke from his heart and didn't have to do a cheesy "I QUIT!" promo like JBL did at WM25
he also put over the new talent which is very nice of him.

Regal is way over rated by the internet wrestling community. He was an average wrestler in his prime and has been terrible the last few years. Good riddance.

I'M GOING TO WRESTLEMANIA!!!

I knew being on the WWE newsletter thing would pay off somehow. Tickets were supposed to go on sale on the 13th, but there is a special internet offer to those who are signed up. So I bought tickets today. Granted they are in the nosebleed section since I can't afford the good seats, but hey, I'm going.

Another good thing is that I don't have to work tomorrow so I can actually see SD this week. Yay.

I'm hearing Punk's injury may not be as bad as we feared. This is good news and I expect he'll be back on TV in some role soon...hey, if we can't get Ziggler/Bryan could we have Punk/Bryan? I remember a fantastic 1 hour match they had in FIP about 5 years ago that convinces me this would be a fun feud.

I do want to share what may be my favorite Eddie Guerrero memory (it's a little late but hopefully you'll indulge) if you've been around the club awhile you know my passion for the original ECW (as evidenced by the shameless grass roots promotion I did for the 2005 One Night Stand PPV). My first ECW match?

Eddy Guerrero vs. Dean Malenko for the World TV Title on ECW Hardcore TV. My impression of ECW at the time was based on second hand reports, ultra violence, crazy brawling, guys getting destroyed nightly. Basically a practically illegal blood sport. Then I saw these two men have an absolute scientific classic. A match that is still to this day the standard to judge all other such matches against. Their goodbye speeches afterward were some of the most heartfelt I'd ever heard. These two were what was good and right about the business and I was a fan of theirs forever.

I watched Eddy through the good and the bad in WCW. I watched with relish as he entered WWE and I was ecstatic when he finally beat Brock Lesnar (I still proudly own the DVD of that event). I look forward to watching his matches with Rey and CM Punk from IWA Mid South. Eddie was a special performer...and that's why his sudden death hurt so badly. I remember the sadness and that sick empty feeling as I read the article. I remember reading his book and getting a glimpse into what kind of man Eddie was, openly weeping in places.

Eddie was special, his legacy will be with us forever. It's in his matches, and it's in performers he helped to bring to prominence (CM Punk is probably the best example, but Vickie as well). But it's also in WWE's Wellness Policy. For good or bad, the Policy is a necessary thing, and though it should not have taken Eddie's death to implement it, I take some solace in the fact that from this tragedy, something good occurred. I like to think Eddie would feel the same way.

5 years without Eddie...it doesn't feel like it's that long, because he's still so vividly alive in my memory. R.I.P. Eddie. Thank you for the memories.

I still miss Eddie. It really is rare to have someone who was such a great wrestler, and who had such immense personality. He wasn't just good on the mic, he had a whole aura about him. He just looked so happy, and that cheeky smile of his made me feel equally happy. He made me feel like I was his friend, and that is a very rare thing amongst anything on TV.

Never has there been such a unique, inimitable wrestler. I miss you Eddie.

R.I.P. Eddie. You are missed.

What always impressed me about Eddie was not just his incredible in-ring skills but his ability to convey his emotions with just a look. You could tell when he was up to something and it alwyas got me excited to see just what he was going to do. One moment that I always remember was him undoing his boot to get out of the ankel lock and tricking Kurt Angle. His tag team with Chavo was also real fun to watch as they made a great team.

I know it's an interesting mix of names. I just hope it isn't all for comedy bits and insulting the names coming in. I also hope they remember they have a PPV to push on Sunday as well. I know Ted Dibiase is coming in, I'd love for this to mean a sort of "reset" for Ted Jr here but somehow I doubt it.

Vickie......went face (sorta) for a night. And she's a lot better as a face; as a heel, you just want to reach through your TV screen & bitchslap her into next week. When she's a face, you actually take her seriously.

DAMMIT, they just couldn't have MVP win the title, could they? YOU TEASING BASTARDS.

I expected Taker to be the one who kidnapped Paul, but I guess it'd be too soon right now. That whole thing with Edge was just gold.

As far as tonight, as long as Roddy & DiBiase (and Superfly, just for the Uso Family Reunion) are there, I can give two shits less about who else is there.

I would say something about Eddie, but avie summed most of it up already. I still have his memorial shirt, which I rarely wear anymore because I only like to wear it when I'm going out somewhere, and I haven't done a hell of a lot of that lately.
