I'm hoping WWE isn't simply building these guys up so Cena can crush them. I'm hoping the idea is to have them attacking the biggest dog in the yard because they want to make a statement and that this WILL lead to a Wade Barrett push. To me, without Bryan around Barrett is the best all around performer in the group and certainly emerges as the leader and therefore the guy that should be getting the title match.

It's all on WWE to follow through and I hope they do because basically, they need to bring some new talent along quickly and desperately.

It was a good Raw though.

I think Wade Barrett will be pushed, its inevitable. I think the way they have done it though has painted themselves into a corner. Eventually Cena is going to get revenge on the rookies without interference and he will not lose 1 on 1 to any of them. No exception.

As far as the MITB thing...I thought there would be just the one briefcase and not more?

Not sure at the moment, I read one for each World title.. but that is probably just wild speculation. You know what wrestling "news" websites are like.

Wade Barrett is the best all around performer of the group with or without Bryan there. He already has a guaranteed title shot so he obviously the one who is going to get it.

It's all on WWE to follow through and I hope they do because basically, they need to bring some new talent along quickly and desperately.

I don't think it is that desperate.

Sorry, just had to do that.

So I guess Jeff and RVD are friends now? Wonder how that'll work out...

Did anyone else notice how people were cheering for Punk? And not just that isolated group of people, I mean like, I could barely hear booing. Wind of change or just those crazy New Yorkers? They also cheered for Sheamus and Edge. What the hell is going on?
And Rey Rey is now WHC. Goddammit. I was screaming at the screen, "COVER HIM PUNK, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, COVER HIM!! WHY DON'T YOU EFFING COVER HIM ALREADY, HE'S A FOOT AWAY FROM YOU!! GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!" Then Kane came in and ruined the match. *sigh*

On a lighter note, the stage was cool, huh?

New York is what we call a "smart market" where the majority of the fans that come to the arena are net fans and very much like to screw with the company by cheering for anyone they like as opposed to who the company thinks they should. That's why you got lots of "Daniel Bryan" chants, and cheering for the heels, and people being very vocal about how they didn't like Cena. That kind of stuff really makes the shows more fun for me.

I actually caught RAW yesterday w/o the need to tape it.

The NXT 7 are confusing as hell......first they apologize, then they come out & maim Cena anyway, then Vince claims responsibility, then they all kick Vince's ass...............????????????

HUH?

Despite that, there was a point to 'taking out' Vince if you think about it: With Vince out, Drew can't whine & bitch to him anymore, allowing Teddy to get revenge for embarrassing him last week. Which is good, because, as avie stated, Drew is starting to get the kind of heel heat where you want to find him IRL & kick him in the balls numerous times - like JBL (although I get the feeling he IS similar in real life anyway, unlike what I assume Drew to be).

I was expecting Jericho to lose as an out to do his hosting job, but he won anyway. Oh well, Bourne didn't exactly job, either - like he used to. Y'know, whether one likes the fact that it took Cena to get Evan's foot in the door or not, the fact is that he's got tons of talent, and that the ends justify the means in this case. The fans cheer for him all the time, so why deny a fan favorite a shot, short guy or not?

I think this is the first time I've actually heard a Superman reference made at Cena's expense on-air.....I think.

50 Grounds Gold says that the 'Anonymous GM' is Trips. Who else would Vince give complete & total control of ANYTHING to, esp. the show most associated with him? Stephanie? Been done already, and frankly that's the only other person I can see fitting the bill since Shane quit.

However, does anyone else realize that that's stealing out of TNA's playbook? I read that they did a similar plot in their early years where the GM was anonymous (later revealed as.......forgot his name......Jim Cornette) and other people were carrying his orders out for him.

At 6/22/10 12:03 AM, Outlaw88 wrote: Those NXT guys are a real force. I wouldn't call them radicals though. When I hear that term I always think back to when Benoit, Eddie, Malinko and Staurn showed up. And since WWE is trying to make us forget Benoit they should probably rethink that term.

Really? I was unaware of that.

Well, it has been quite some time since our Biggest Little Man has held a major title; so I say good for him. I hope he keeps it on for a while.

That explains why they started chanting "N-X-T!!!!!" when they pwned Vince.....after booing the shit out of them the entire rest of the time. But then again, most fans out in the audience really DO seem to be hypocrites if you pay close attention (or in other words, Jericho is actually right).

I think you are giving the WWE to much credit, this won't change anything on smackdown. Vince hardly ever appears on the show it is all letters and phone calls. Things will continue as is with the Drew storyline.

I was expecting Jericho to lose as an out to do his hosting job, but he won anyway.

That is because you are horribly misinformed.
Expect Evan Bourne to come out on top at the end of this feud however.
Evan Bourne vs The Miz for U.S. title will begin after the next PPV.

50 Grounds Gold says that the 'Anonymous GM' is Trips.

Could be anyone at this point, I doubt the WWE creative even know for sure who it is going to be at this point in time.

ALSO ALSO ALSO
WHO ELSE THINKS THAT CM PUNK'S MASK THAT HE WORE AT FATAL4 WAY WAS TOTALLY AWESOME?!?! I mean it, IT WAS FRIGGIN' EPIC! I think they should sell it on WWEshop. He could be like Rey Rey, except instead of gently touching his mask to the kids' mask, he could headbutt them really really hard.
...
I should make an animation out of that...

Anyway, if they do decide to put that mask up on WWEshop, I made a picture for it. It was made in paint, but, uh, you get the idea.

I hope that if Rey does eventually take some time off, that storyline wise the week after CM Punk takes him out he comes out to the ring dressed as rey to his music as he has done with taker/hardy. I love those skits.

i'm a little surprised they haven't yet. Yes Punk is a heel, but it's not like other heels don't have merchandise to sell. The Punk mask is really neat and certainly could sell for them.

Hey there, I'd love to join this club, I used to lurk it a fair bit years ago, do you still choose a wrestler to represent you on here?

Either way, I am a huge wrestling fan, my favourite wrestlers being Chris Benoit, Shawn Michaels, Curt Hennig and Owen Hart.

My favourite match of all time is Owen vs Bret at Wrestlemania X, the best suprise finish I have ever seen, and I have been getting into Japanese Wrestler a bit lately if any of you talk about that. I have taken a liking to Misawa and Jushin Liger, but I am still a Japan nub.

Cheers :)

but i guess you got a point, it would probably make some money if sold.

WWE and Youtube have come to a deal to host full episodes of WWE content. The article thatI found can be read here.

It's strange that they haven't started selling the Punk mask. It is cool looking enough to make people want it.

As far as the GM goes.. Yeah I was thinking HHH as well. That and I really don't want to see Steph in power again. It does make sense since thay did come out and say that HHH is Vince's son-in-law.

Sorry, Shaun, but I called it again - Teddy regains control, and tells Drew to suck it in that Teddy Long way that he does.

Seriously, Creative has been strangely..............rational lately.

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2010-06-26 22:14:07

.......Aaaaaand, to top it all off, Drew's Visa expires, and he gets deported for the lulz, all the while whining & screaming "MR. MCMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHON!!!!!!!!!!!" like a 2-year-old. Hilariously epic.

First, there was that time when Swagger came out in that Kurt Angle-esque hooded robe, and now he stuck Show in the Ankle Lock; hm, is he trying to tell us something?

Any background info on the guy who cut the promo?

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2010-06-27 00:14:16

I tend to think the Drew thing might have been a way to send him to RAW...which scares me, I don't think he's ready for that yet.

As far as the guy cutting the promo? I have an IDEA who it was, but haven't been able to confirm it yet. I think this character could be DOA as it's basically coming off like a latin Chris Jericho to me...and definitely he doesn't have Jericho's charisma.

A latin Chris Jericho? lol.

Does anyone else find it weird that the guy who hurt the Undertaker in real life ended up winning the title? Obviously it was an accident on Rey's part but it is a bit odd to me.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the NXT group does tonight. I'd like to see them booked in regular matches soon so we can see them in action.

I wonder if Miz and Orton will fued or was that just something to distract Orton long enough for Edge to spear him? I guess we'll find out tonight.

Another week, another Nexus beatdown. I really think it's time for WWE to move to Phase 2 here as they've definitely established that these guys don't care and will just beat up anyone and everyone at will. But now it's time to get them on the roster and wrestling matches, even the nWo in it's beginning stages did that. The attacks are fine and good, I thought tonights was pretty good as well, but they're starting to follow a pattern and it's time to freshen things up by getting these guys into sanctioned bouts (as they are part of the roster now) and moving towards some real goals.

So got some news yesterday that hasn't broken publicly yet so I can't share...but it's definitely a blow to the company I think and I REALLY think it needs to be sorted as soon as humanly possible or the Nexus angle is going to be badly hurt and (contrary to the belief of some) Smackdown! will suffer as well.

Nice to see Kaval came in first place in the voting, I really haven't followed NXT to feel like I have a handle on whether or not the rest of the voting went as it should though. It does look like they've done a way better job planning the show this time around.

Is this what you are talking about?
www.wrestlezone.com:
PWInsider.com is reporting that WWE Smackdown star CM Punk underwent arm surgery last week and will be out of action for 6-8 weeks. Punk was at the SD! taping tonight, however his arm was in a sling.

Damn. With Punk out of action that messes up the angle going on SD. Plus they are down another top star.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that WWE stars Michelle McCool and The Undertaker were married this past weekend. As previously reported here on the site, the two had been dating for several years.

No no, Wade Barrett has an issue as to why he cannot compete, but I'm not sure whether I blame him or the company more for this issue. I think I blame the company more since it usually falls to them to take care of it. But this is NOT a drug problem or anything that should really make anybody lose real respect for Barrett.

Also, Ihope Kaval wins. Either him or Lucky Cannon. Or Husky. Yeah, either Husky or Kaval.

I think Kaval certainly has the skills based on what I've seen of his work over the years. The other guys I don't really know but Alex Riley is certainly a good promo.

The problem for this angle going forward now to me is Barrett and Bryan were the only guys that were credible as leaders for this group. If you subtract one, it's bad, but you can recover. If you subtract both for a good length of time, then you REALLY have a problem unless you can somehow hot shot a personality in that can overcome and keep it rolling. Hopefully Barrett will be back soon.

Hell yeah.
Kaval is cool. Kaval is awesome. KAVAL IS BETTER THAN YOU. KAVAL IS GOD.

Not sure I'd go that far, but the guy is very talented.

Also, 14 year difference between Taker and McCool. *sigh* Now she really is McTaker. *SHUDDER* Aw god, damn thoughts of a honeymoon...*twitch* OH JESUS...

My parents are 10 years apart. One of my best friends and her husband are 9 years apart. It's actually pretty common and both of them are adults, there's no issue to me here like Taker robbing the cradle or something of that nature. If they make each other happy then I wish them all the luck in the world.

Also, get well soon, Punk. Fans usually like injured people, so...DAMN YOU, YOU'LL FUCK UP THE ENTIRE ANGLE.

I don't think he'll turn face here, especially since he was at the tapings this week in a sling. I imagine he'll wind up accompanying Gallows to ringside (and Serena can work WWE, you have a very fallow women's division on SD!, so how about getting her some matches too please?). I just don't see any good reason to screw up the group or pull Punk off TV since the prognosis here is an injury that should only keep him out 2 months at best. Punk is a great promo, worker, and in a pinch color commentator (check out some old ROH DVD's if you don't believe me). There's a lot to do there and no reason not to try and spin the negative into a positive.

If he and McCool were younger, then people wouldn't be happy for Taker. They'd think he was a pedophile.

Probably, but as I pointed out, both are legal, consenting adults, and both are well over the age of 18. So to me, where's the issue? This is not like when Uncle Jerry is going to the high school or the mall because he's picking up his latest date. Oh...did I go there? Ya I did :)
