Nothing wrong with house shows just so you know. The first WWE/F event I ever went to was a house show, and it was a blast.

I just want to say that Jamie Noble sold the beating he took like a million bucks. There could be no doubt in your mind that a powerbomb on the outside of the ring can be a devestating move and it made 'Pale & Red" look tough as hell.

Am I the only one wishing that Hornswaggle gets super kicked in the near future?

Also I doubt there as long as the ones I used to go to. Back when I first started going they'd tape like two or three weeks of TV in the middle of the main card. Loooooots of squash matches.

He did sell it well but how effective was it since nobody really sells these things anymore and nobody really cares about Jamie Noble? Did it make Shaemus look bad ass, or just noble look like a puss? I mean, guys don't even sell HIAC anymore so....

Am I the only one wishing that Hornswaggle gets super kicked in the near future?

No, that character has long overstayed his welcome and it's time to give it a break.

Sheamus belongs on ECW. Seriously. Leave the nobodies on ECW.

Yup. It was right after Mick Foley (Mankind) won the WWF title for the first time. The main event fore that show was Mankind and Stone Cold vs. The Rock and the Big Boss Man (R.I.P.) One funny moment had Rock being chased by Austin being chased by Boss Man being chased by Manking. They did like two laps around the ring. It's funny that I remember the main event and the opening bout which was between Al Snow and Goldust (Snow lost, then argued with Head for a while in a very funny moment) and nothing else. Still, it was a great time.

Sadly, I am slowly becoming a fan. I am becoming a fan of heels, heels, and ONLY heels. :( Help me.

A dude who used to post here used to say "Fuck the faces; Hazzah for heels" Stone Cold started out as a heel as did HHH. Heels can be cool.

Also...stupid TNA. Even if it has a, like, 1000 year old legend, I still hate it. >:( Sorry TNA fans. For me, if it's in competition with the WWE, even if it's not even in the league of WWE, I will hate it.

I think you might want to reconsider that. TNA is barely in competition with wwe. It is perfectly fine and easy to watch both. TNA has a lot of quality matches and superstars that you don't see in wwe. I also don't really get any sense of hostility toward the wwe except for the occasional fan with a sign. So, please reconsider so you can see other great wrestlers in action, like AJ Styles.

It doesn't make sense to feel hostility towards TNA. Ideally, we should all want TNA to be getting better in order to provide some actual competition for WWE.

If history has taught us anything, it's that Vince works alot better when he has someone to compete with. I mean, look what we have now: The whole company is TV-PG, there is no blood, and storylines aren't even particularly clever. Even within a PG rating you can make compelling storylines, but Vince is complacent with awful storylines that probably even make kids embarrassed. I mean, there's a drawf, who everyone treats like a child. It's pretty awful when you think about it.

It's got to the point where, in order to get a better WWE, we either need Vince to die and pass responsibility to someone less crazy (and in all likelihood, creative control would go to Steph and we'd still have shitty storylines, apart from if Trips stepped in), or we need TNA to become a company who can actually provide something that rivals WWE. And I don't like to wish harm on anyone, so I'd much prefer TNA to become a respectable second choice, even if that scenario isn't even on the horizon.

Yep, and when Vince has someone at him, and ideally someone who proves they CAN take him or steal his audience. Well he gets off his ass and starts listening to other people and new ideas. That's why the Attitude Era worked, because it was a bunch of talented folks top to bottom collaborating to keep their jobs and their dominance in the industry. When you're back is against the wall, you fight that much harder. Now? Now it's just complacency, stagnation, and denial. Just wait till you see what happens with The Rumble and tell me they haven't lost their damn minds.

I'm just hoping Hogan can do something to boost the popularity of TNA. If you look at some of the talent they have there, it would be awesome for them to have more exposure. People like AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and Christopher Daniels are all people I'd want to see more of.

The problems here for me are twofold:

1. TNA has been able to get an initial pop for big stars like Hogan, but usually cannot keep that audience. They tune in, want to see the big star, then tune out as that star kind of fades into just another face in the pack.

2. Hogan has always been about Hogan and nobody and nothing else. So far it doesn't look like he's done anything that makes me believe he's learned his lesson on that score. This is something where one can only hope Dixie Carter has firm control of her company post-Jarrett and isn't looking to give that up to let Hogan turn it into his personal playground like he did WCW.

I don't see Hogan ever fading in to just being another face in the pack. But this isn't necessarily a good thing...

I'm optimistic. Even if it is likely that Hogan hasn't learnt his lesson, I don't currently watch TNA, so the only thing that would really affect me would be if they actually broke through the glass ceiling. But I am hopeful that Hogan doesn't totally destroy the company for his own gain.

The thing that turned me off watching TNA before was the main event picture. It was all about Jarrett and wasn't that easy to get into in a casual way. The whole show was about Jarrett's convoluted faction with Gail Kim and America's Most Wanted, and I think the Canadian group were involved too. It was just too much, and it didn't help that they had such stupid match types. I didn't know what the aim of half the matches were.

Logged into your elite account lately? I'm pretty sure it'll be hitting the mainstream of the wrestling media in another couple of days...even when this company does something right (and that I've been bitching they need to do for awhile) they find a way to screw it up.

Something is wrong with the Rumble? I hope this story breaks so I can be filled in.

So Raw will be held in England tonight. The guest host is Ricky Hatton..I have no idea who that is. I always enjoy the overseas shows as they get such different reactions there. I don't remember what is supposed to happen tonight but I'm looking forward to it.

Tomorrow Regal will be getting an ECW title shot in front of his hometown crowd. It will be interesting to see what kind of reaction he will get. It's a bit weird that the two guys that they have from England are heels on ECW.

Hatton is an English boxer. Anyone expect his loss to Floyd Mayweather will be brought up on Raw? WWE in England is always good. They always try to put on a good show for us limeys.

I don't know about you guys but Raw seemed lackluster to me. Nothing really stood out to make the show great. The main event was good as well as the Bourne/Swagger match but other than that not a whole lot going on. I sure hope the ECW title match delivers tonight.

Hatton getting a bullseye on his first try was awesome though.

Jamie Noble has retired from wrestling.

Source: WWE.com

Early Tuesday morning, WWE.com was contacted by Jamie Noble, who revealed his decision to conclude a seven-year career as a WWE Superstar and retire from the squared circle.

This regrettable announcement came hours after Noble was released from the medical facility where he sought treatment for injuries sustained at the hands of Sheamus one week ago on Raw and after years of nagging shoulder and neck injuries.

"Luckily, the doctors tell me I'm going to recover again," Noble told WWE.com in an article published earlier this week. "But I'm laying here thinkin' about how great my life is with my wife and my son. I'm thinkin', how many more times am I gonna be lucky enough to walk out of the hospital on my own? I'm thinkin' it might be time to hang up my tights and boots." (Full Article Here)

WWE.com wishes Jamie Noble all the best in his recovery and his career outside the ring.

What do you guys think? Is it legitimate? Or is it part of a storyline?

Noble is a producer (agent) for the company and from everything I've heard it sounds like he is seriously retiring to focus on that and it also helps build up Sheamus on RAW. So far as I know, Jamie Noble is legit retiring, the reality is he's got a good job in the back and they really weren't doing anything with him in front of the camera.

Yes, I have footage of Punk from pretty much the beginning of his in-ring career and he is one of the few performers that has always worked under the same ring name and gimmick. He has always been CM Punk, and has always primarily been a heel based around the idea that being straight edge makes him better then everyone else.

Here is an interesting interview with RVD. He talks about the new ECW and how it was such a huge letdown/ You can read it here.

Speaking of that, I do think they have done better in making the ECW belt worth something. The title defense Christian and Regal had was awesome.

Pretty much echoes everything I read about it at the time and lived through. WWE pissed so much money away on that whole thing and could be getting so much more from that brand then they do.

It's a developmental show now. It's purpose is to get guys ready for RAW and SD! at this point. So yeah, it is what it is, they have no interest in making that title worth anything really.

SD was good last night. Jericho and Undertaker has a really great match, so I expect that when they go at in on PPV it will be even better. I'm suprised Jericho got so much offense in, it was really an even match for most of it.

Ziggler/Morrison was great too. Shame they ended it with a double count out, but I understand why. To me it is only a matter of time before Ziggler gets the IC title.

Anyone else laugh when Batista got flipped over?

A bit too much.

McMahon said that when he opens his arms(you know, in the ring entrance), it was too inviting to fans. Is that what you're talking about?

No, I mean the lame, monotone slow promos. I mean the slow, deliberate matches. Shit like getting a chinlock on and holding it for like 5 minutes. I don't mean working it for five, I mean just putting on the hold and then basically sitting there for five minutes doing nothing. Randy could be a lot better then he is, but a combination of the character they've tried to create for him and I think some of the arrogance and laziness that is apparently part of Randy's personality have really stifled him a bit and held him back.

You...have footage...
I don't know how to feel about that. >_>

Wrestling DVD's. Dating back to his time in Mid-American Wrestling in the mid-west. I would like to find a tape of that AWA match he mentioned where he and Colt Cabana competed in an all Doink battle royal. That sounds funny as fuck.

I know! Tiny Hands is AWESOME.

I agree. Don't let this stuff invade your dreams like that. Its a show. All good stuff needs a hero and a villian. Punk just happens to be a fun villan to watch. In the end good will prevail but the journey sure is fun to get through.

Piper should be a good host tomorrow. That big tag main event looks to be good too. It will be interesting to see Cena and Taker work as a team.

Piper should be a good host tomorrow. That big tag main event looks to be good too. It will be interesting to see Cena and Taker work as a team.

Agreed.
Piper looks weird with the short hair, though.

Still haven't gotten around to watching the last RAW...........yes, I know I'm getting lazy... >_<

I forgot how much I liked that song they're using for SS this year. It's a bit odd, though, that they're using something that's 2 years old for it, when older songs are usually just for special occasions, like WM 25.

CUE THE BAGPIPES, DAMMIT!!!!!!! Roddy never gets old. :P

Not surprising; he's been doing next-to-nothing on-air for the past few years.

Didn't know he was an agent.

I read the 2nd part of the interview; can't blame him for wanting high demands after being put through the ringer for so long.

Also read the Paul Heyman interview; glad to hear he's come out of hiding. Read it, damn you.

Not to mention he actually nailed the Lionsault for the first time in god-only-knows-anymore...

Looking forward to the Tag Match next week.

Ziggler/Morrison was great too. Shame they ended it with a double count out, but I understand why. To me it is only a matter of time before Ziggler gets the IC title.

Sadly, I guess it's time for Mr. Ziggles to have a run.

Anyone else laugh when Batista got flipped over?

Yes. :P

You're starting to scare me slightly... o_o

But I'll admit, I still would love to kick JBL in the nuts in real life just because his character was such a giant douche. So it's not just you.

You can be in Paris. You can be in a Hilton. Just don't be in Paris Hilton.

One of the best threads ever.

Okay. I think that's good...
I hate the new RAW theme. HATE IT. The old one was...how can I put this...AWESOME. Ugh, too Mizzy.
But, yeah. Everyone has their secret childish hatred of a wrestler. Even me. And I'm awesome. Oh god...

I got to say, I think that was the best Raw all year. When Hornswoggle screwed chavo for 32334325th time my hopes for a decent episode were crushed, but seeing that little guy et pedigree'd made them sky rocket. That was classic. You didn't get a super kick Outlaw, but I hope that was satisfying for you.

I'm not a fan of the brawl scenarios, but Kofi and Orton going at it was great. They both made the other guy look strong. (for the most part) That is how you work a feud before a PPV. Shame that they waited until the last minute to do it. Still, I'm excited to see more singles matches between the two in the future. Which reminds me, what was up with the late cue for Kofi? It was awkward.

Piper's segment with Vince was great. Piper listing off his injuries was one of the best segments I've ever seen.

And ending with Undertaker holding the belt in the ring with everyone out of commission. I can't think of a better way to end a show.

Indeed it was. When they were setting him up to do the pose, I knew/hoped something was up, and seeing him get the pedigree made me mark out. I hope he stays away fro a while. I was tired of him messign with Chavo months ago, so now I hope everyone can move on from this.

Their brawl was really helped make the night. I am so glad WWE is giving Kofi a decent push with one of their top guys. As long as his team doesn't get squashed at the PPV, the momentum he is getting could really help establish Kofi as an upper level guy, something WWE needs.

I think age is really catching up with the hot rod as he seemed more incoherent to me. Still it was a great segment when he called Vince out.

Agreed 100%. Raw was great last night and I'm happy with what went down. Striker did a great job on commentary and worked suprisingly well with Cole. I guess King will get his yearly match sometime down the road since "Pale and Red" nearly kicked his head off.
