Wow, I gotta say, an exceedingly good way to open RAW with Show and Jericho and I'm amazed WWE presented both a logical and cogent reason for Show to have turned on RAW, but also begin to plant the seeds for the JeriShow break up. It's rare that I say good job to RAW creative but...hey, good job RAW creative!

I get the sinking feeling it only goes down from here....

I think it is funny that getting pinned has given Kofi the most screen time of his career so far. The whole thing with him and Orton's car reminded me of the Attitude era. I think Kofi could have performed it better, it still sounds weird without the accent. Plus he slipped a little near the end. My other complaint is that he should have used green, black and yellow paint instead of orange.

Not that bad of a show I'd say. I thought it was cool that most of the superstars got some time in during the final match.

What I find interesting about the Survivor Series title match is that three of Raw's top guys are in it. More space for the midcard on team Raw.

I have to admit, I really enjoyed Raw tonight. They kept the stupid stuff to a minimal and actually had some sense in those storylines. I totally buy Big Show's reason for turning on Raw and I like how the rest of the roster got some payback in the final match of the night.

Kofi/Jericho was easily the best match of the night. I really hope this is a sign of bigger things to come for Kofi as his work tonight made me feel like he was the star of the show tonight. Will Kofi get a win or two when he and Orton have a showdown? I sure hope so. The crowd likes him and he's really talented. I hope things go well for the dude.

That weird bit of moves Santino did made me laugh so hard I cried.

So Cena will have to face DX in a triple threat at the next PPV. This will be interesting since it could give a reason for DX to go their seperate ways afterwards. Speaking of that, I really think Legacy needs to split. I think Ted can hang in the singles division, though I'm not convinced about Cody.

I know, right? RAW totally wanted it more.

Pissed off doesn't begin to cover what I'm feeling. Don't get me wrong, I was pulling SmackDown all the way, but good lord! Talk about horrible

I didn't think that the Big Show would pull something like that! And the guy with the tiny little girl hands...what's his name...oh yeah, Jericho didn't deserve it.

At 10/26/09 07:13 AM, Assi9 wrote: Correct, with Batista making a heel turn......... >_< I didn't want to see it, but it was inevitable.

Yes, sadly. Poor little Mysterio. I hope he didn't break his back! Then his tattoo would be useless!!

Right on who won, but (1) Ted didn't turn face yet, and (2) it was nowhere near as bad as I even thought it would be. Orton went to a new level of insane, and Cena didn't quite look as Superman as usual - I mean, he still WAS Superman, but it was actually a close match for once, with some disturbing stunts pulled all along the way. Probably the best match Cena's put on in years.

Ah, I loved when Randy was playing with the pyrotechnics table. *sigh* You never get tired of those moments. And the part where he tried to blow Cena up was...how should I put this AND quote another match...AWESOME.

What? Did Kofi paint Orton's car or splattered paint on it or what? I didn't wach RAW last night.

I haven't watched last night's RAW yet, but I'll probably get to it today. I accidentally may have missed taping the first 15 minutes or so of it, however.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff signing with TNA yet.

Or that it would appear TNA is negotiating with Ric Flair also.

Time to dig those WCW jokes out of moth balls I guess...

Doesn't TNA still employ Kevin Nash? So they will have Nash, Hogan and Bischoff...Three guys who ran WCW into the ground. Unless those in charge keep their heads and don't listen to everything these guys say then it might work out, but still...Past results have shown this can start out great, but end in an epic fail.

Yoshi/Christian last night was a very well done match. I'm glad they are giving these guys a chance to show their skill and defend the ECW title all while Regal and his team keep messing with everybody.

This might explain Batista's heel turn. Maybe he's done it in an attempt to give Rey a bigger push?

Also, after reading some other stuff, I have to wonder just how long Russo's going to be kept by TNA.......even the other wrestlers are getting sick of his booking. Which reminds me........

Let's be clear about what is happening here with these men and TNA as we know it right now before people jump to conclusions:

Kevin Nash: Contracted talent, no more, no less. It would seem Nash was trying to make something of a play with his tantrum at the tapings...but as of right now he has no office power and is simply another guy contracted to the show who does what the bookers tell him. He has no pull in creative that I know of.

Hulk Hogan: Contracted talent. On-air character, will most likely sparingly wrestle, no power on the booking. Unless you believe Bubba The Love Sponge who claims he saw it in Hogan's contract that he is coming in to be the booker. But Bubba is a lying tool and a Hogan sycophant so until I can hear it confirmed by a news source I trust, I think Hogan is contracted talent...though I wouldn't be shocked to find out he will have a lot of input into his programs and will not simply be "one of the boys" in terms of doing what he's told and having to deal with it.

Eric Bischoff: MAY appear on TNA programming, but he is coming in with his role in Bischoff/Hervey productions. So his role will most likely be to try and help TNA develop new television series and shop them to other networks when and if Spike TV passes on them as this is part of the new deal TNA has with Spike.

Yes it looks like old home week from WCW. But right now the power players who helped WCW rise to the heights, and then brought it crashing down, have NO official power in TNA. Everything is still as it was before in TNA and this is something that could benefit the company as Hogan is a huge name, and what Bischoff brings in terms of television experience could really help TNA extend their brand. So until we see something where all these guys become the new booking committee or something, this is a positive deal for TNA thus far.

Also...
I was watching the new yesterday, and I saw something about Hulk Hogan. It said something about
'Hulk's Life-Saving Hero', so I kept watching. Turns out that, I think his name is Muhammed Ali, his daughter called Hulk when he was about to shoot himself while he was drunk. And, at the end, the anchorwoman just casually said, "...And Hulk recently signed with Total Nonstop Action wrestling."

I hear Hogan's new book should be filed under the same heading as his last one: "fiction"

The suicide story? Come on...if I was going to kill myself, why the hell would I answer the phone? Why?

He tore all his back muscles bodyslamming a 700 pound Andre. Ok, Andre was NEVER billed as anything above 500 to my knowledge, and even that was a stretch. Andre's weight didn't really balloon until he stopped wrestling, but even then he was hurting. Tore all your back muscles? Well then how the fuck were you not out for months and months Hulk? Same old Hogan.

Far as TNA. Look, Maraquan, I hate to break it to you but the mainstream media doesn't care about wrestling unless they can mock it. Also to the mainstream audience, WWE IS wrestling...anything else is seen like an indy or inferior league. It's much the same how you can say to someone "I like MMA" and they go "what's that?" and then you go "UFC" and they go "ooooooh, ok". I actually had a variant of such a conversation tonight at work. It just goes with the territory of being a wrestling fan unfortunately.

At this point it doesn't really matter to me anymore. Hogan is someone who feels the need to be in the spotlight and will say anything to get it. He's not with WWE so I pay him no attention. I haven't watched TNA in years so his being there has no impact on what I watch. But to follow up on the creative control topic:

PWInsider.com has provided some new details on the developing coverage of Hulk Hogan signing with TNA.

On the creative control front, we exclusively reported yesterday that Hogan WILL have control in TNA, and will be working with the current creative team consisting of Vince Russo, Ed Ferrara and others. While the current creative team will not be replaced by Hogan, he will have a major say in how he is booked and how the company is booked in general. It is being said that the current team will be working on a trial basis, so to speak, to see how well they work with Hogan.

Additionally, it is being reported that Hogan has told TNA officials that he wants to bring in some new talent, and that although no names aside from Bischoff and Hogan are officially part of the deal that Hogan signed with TNA, it is expected that other talents will follow Hogan's lead. This may include names like Ric Flair, as we've been reporting.

As for the new TNA show that we exclusively reported on the other night, it should be noted that TNA has NO PLANS to move Impact to Monday nights, but rather, as we stated, a new, separate TNA show is in the works that TNA hopes can debut on Monday nights from 8-10pm EST. This show is still in the developmental phase, however, and has not been confirmed or announced by TNA or SpikeTV.

Prior to the announcement of Hogan joining the company, TNA officials met with SpikeTV officials and had a meeting in New York City to dicuss company plans moving forward. This meeting was scheduled well in advance of Hogan signing with TNA, and was one of a few meetings the company has yearly with SpikeTV to discuss the future. It should be noted that neither Hulk Hogan nor Jeff Jarrett was present at the meeting.

SD was good last night. I thought the Jericho/Kane match was better than I had expected and now Jericho is in the title match. Interesting turn for the tag champions.

I wonder where CM Punk will go from here? He's not part of the title match and he just beat up the ref. Will he try again after the triple threat match?

Morrison/Ziggler was a good opening bout and I expect we'll be getting a IC title defense between the two soon.

Gotta agree. People forget that Kane is a pretty decent worker and give him an opponent like Jericho and while the result might not be a classic, it'll certainly be something good and watchable. I like having Jericho in the title bout because it should improve the match quality tremendously, and gives us someone who I could actually see taking the belt (though I highly doubt it).

I would think so. To me the referee angle should serve as a reminder to the fanbase that Punk is still the top heel on the show, and he's by no means backing down from Taker or the title picture. I'd think the triple threat is more about getting the JeriShow break up underway and giving Taker yet another PPV win. Seems like they're just killing time till they pull the switch on that Taker/Vince feud that more and more seems inevitable now...I really hope they aren't going to try and parse that out till Mania. Granted I don't ever want Taker losing, but geez can't we come up with something better for him to do? To go from Michaels to McMahon? That'd just be sad.

Taker vs. McMahon would be a total waste. I'd rather Taker go out with a better match than that. Do you think this may be the last WM he'll make it to? I really hope they keep the streak alive and let him go out with a perfect record.

I might be going to the Royal Rumble. Its being held in Atlanta and there are still tickets available.

I hear some talk of a project in the works that would involve Taker and should give him some time off (I can't comment further because it was an Elite exclusive on PWInsider, and I understand and respect my terms of service). The talk of Taker being done has been slowing down, and I think the last couple of months of multi-man matches is WWE acknowledging that if they use Taker the more they can hide the shortcomings and rest him in matches will be better for his long term health. If he is going to get some time off then we're probably going to wind up with him taking on Vince at Mania because they'll do something where he's screwed out of the belt in Buried Alive or some other gimmick that would give them an excuse to rest him and let him work on this other deal.

Personally I hope they come up with better for him to do. It's no secret I think that even if Taker can keep going a couple more years or so on a limited schedule, the matches he has left should be treated as precious commodities, especially Mania performances. They shouldn't be wasted on stroking the boss's ego.

I might be going to the Royal Rumble. Its being held in Atlanta and there are still tickets available.

Wow, that's pretty cool. The Rumble is easily one of the best PPVs all year and always one of my favorite concepts. I got to go to Summerslam 97 and that was a really fun event.

Ok, since Mike Johnson reported it on the main site I can stop being cryptic:

The project I mentioned with Taker yesterday is a film project. It'd be a western set in the late 1800's which would serve as an origin for the Undertaker character. Taker would feature prominently in it and the budget would be 3.5 million meaning it would be headed direct to DVD. I'd be curious to see how this would work out, and as I said this could be good for Taker in that it would give him and the company an excuse to give him a couple months or so off while they shoot this.

That Taker movie sounds silly, but at least it will keep him active.

It's offical. I'm going to the Royal Rumble!

Anyway, Raw had it's ups and downs. At first I thought the segments with ozzy were great, since he's so damn funny. but when they had that talent segment I was like Ugh... Not this crap again.

I did like some of the matches though. The opening bout was good, as was the 6 man tag. I thought Jericho and Big Show would fight each other more since they will be opponents at the next PPV but it makes sense that they would gang up on Cena.

It probably will be, but as a die-hard fan I'm sure I'll wind up buying it.

Sweet!

The talent segment I thought was funny, the opener was kind of painful and makes me wonder if DX is going to have to be together forever so they can help the guest hosts book the show.

Those two guys won't get into the "break up" and fighting each other phase until the match itself I'd think. They could really try marketing Taker as the underdog here because he'll be facing a team who will most likely try and eliminate him and then deal with each other.

Here's a question that I never got around to asking: You know that WrestleMania XXVI commercial with the music? Is that gonna be the song for it, or was it for last year's?
Now that that's off my chest, I have ANOTHER question: Are the SmackDown!/ECW events just house shows? 'Cause that would suck. I wouldn't even get my awesome sign on TV.

Ozzy and(I think her name is)Sharon were pretty good on RAW. And the Hornswoggle bit was hilarious. And the Chris Masters part.

I'm not sure if that'll be next year's song or not. It might be too early to tell.

Unless you see or hear it explicitly mentioned to be a TV Taping, assume house show.
