On Smackdown last night, Vickie Guerrero made the shocking announcement that will see the Undertaker returning at Summerslam.
Undertaker Returns at Summerslam
Over the last several weeks, the big question in wrestling has been "When will the Undertaker return?"
Well, WWE provided that answer last night on Smackdown.
In the storyline, Vickie Guerrero made the decision to punish Edge by reinstating the Undertaker.
She also took it a step further by announcing a Hell in a Cell match between Edge and the Undertaker at Summerslam.
Like she said, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
Hell in a Cell
WWE has finally come through with this feud and delivered big time.
There's not a better match for the Undertaker's return than a Hell in a Cell match against Edge.
Wrestling fans had grown tired of the multiple title matches between the two wrestlers.
Putting them in a Hell in a Cell makes the match much more important than any of their previous title matches.
In fact, the Hell in a Cell match is considered more of a main event right now than either the WWE title match or World title match.
The Main Event
It'll be interesting to see which match that WWE decides to promote as the main event of Summerslam.
With the Great Khali in the WWE title match, that automatically makes it a secondary match on the pay per view.
CM Punk is still finding his way as a champion. Any match that he'll be involved in will feel like a secondary match as well.
The Undertaker's return has always been a huge thing. Even though fans have seen it so often, it's still exciting.
Plus, it's a Hell in a Cell match. Gimmick matches generally have more appeal than regular matches.
Swerve
In the wrestling business, if you have a good thing going, you generally milk it until there's nothing left.
WWE has a great thing going with the on screen relationship with Edge an Vickie Guerrero.
Their ability to generate so much heel heat together makes it very likely that a swerve is going to happen.
Vickie Guerrero could end up turning against the Undertaker.
Closing Thoughts
This match alone should be enough to get wrestling fans to shell out some money for the pay per view.
