Seems like a viable option. Though saying that, they do seem reluctant to take the titles off Miz and Morrisons, and they rarely change titles in the minor shows.

CM Punk's match with Kane on Monday's Raw gained 679,000 viewers, which has to be considered a huge success. It was the highest-rated quarter hour of the entire broadcast (3.59), excluding the overrun (3.81). The quarter hours before and after the Punk vs. Kane match scored 3.13 each, despite appearances from John Cena, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, Santino Marella and Beth Phoenix. Also, the Jericho vs. London match and the Noble/Layla/Snitsky segment following it lost all the viewers the match had gained as 688,000 viewers changed the channel. The Cena & Cryme Tyme vs. JBL & Rhodes & DiBiase match, and parking lot angle, gained 1,117,000 viewers. The Kingston vs. Burchill match following the Divas match gained 57,000 viewers. John Cena's long-winded promo and the Beth Phoenix vs. Santino Marella match lost 5,000 viewers. DiBiase & Rhodes bullying Kelly Kelly and then insulting "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan gained 25,000 viewers.

Indeed, and definitely something that should bode well for him going into the PPV sunday. The Punk experiment is working and I think they'd be nuts to take the belt and the spotlight away from him now.

Want to know why having the belt on Punk is making people pat attention? Take a look at the previous title holders. It went from the same few people over and over, and each one was a champion before. This is the first time in a very long time where we have a person brand new holding that title. Its a change, something new and people respond to that.

That and Punk is very likeable and very good in the ring.

Unfortunatly I can see the tag belts changing hands in this match, but without having that champs pinned. My guess is that one of the other teams pins the other and wins. I am not sure if its elimination rules or not, so if it is that will change things a bit.

There are a lot of rumors going around about Brooke Hogan posing nude for Playboy in the near future. In Touch and Life & Style magazines are both reporting that Playboy has made the offer to Brooke, but there's no word on whether she has accepted the offer or not.

Well, they are trying to position her as the babyface of the family now...and nothing will get her more sympathy with males then getting naked...of course, then people might lose interest in her.

Great predictions as always. The only one I'm going to go against is the Jericho/HBK match. I think it's about time Jericho got a win on PPV and seeing him come out on top would be pretty cool to me. I'm sure you are right on though since they are going into this match with HBK "hurt" so they will play that up to for sure. Still I'd like to see Jericho get the win.

At 7/19/08 07:11 AM, TheD-LucksEdition wrote: 1. Natalya vs. Michelle McCool (for the new Divas Championship)

I think McCool might win. I'd like the idea of a Victoria/McCool feud after Natalya has had her rematch or feuded with McCool.

2. WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison vs. Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder vs. Finlay & Hornswoggle vs. Jesse & Festus (Fatal Four Way Tag Team Match)

I know you want M&M to retain, so I won't dash your hopes ;) I would like Jesse and Festus to win, and I really hope that Horny doesn't win.

3. John Cena vs. JBL (New York City Parking Lot Brawl)

I'd say it was pretty obvious that Cena will win, so I'll predict the finish to the match. Cena FU's JBL right through the roof of a car. Not on top, but through.
Saying that, JBL seems to have a good record on PPV's, regardless of who should win, so maybe he will.

4. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho w/ Lance Cade

I don't think it matters who wins this, they should put on a good match, and this whole thing is good elevation for Cade. I really like your idea of putting London in too, it would be great for his career.
Kendrick has Ezekiel, why shouldn't London be reinvented?
I'd say Jericho to win to continue the feud, in a screwy finish. Unless London gets involved.

5. ECW Champion Mark Henry vs. Tommy Dreamer

I see this as a way to show Henry's dominance against an established ECW guy, and against someone who will bump for him.

6. World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk vs. Batista

I have every single body part crossed that Punk will retain and come off looking at least somewhat strong. It will be something if he retains, but I recall the fact that Michael "The Biggest Underdog Champion In History" Cole is now announcing on Raw. I hate when he says that about Rey, I don't think I could stand him saying that about Punk.

7. WWE Champion Triple H vs. Edge

This could be unpredictable. Though I don't think wonderchild Triple H will lose the title this soon into his debut. And La Familia getting involved would protect Edge, but I'm not sure if they'll use up the La Familia revenge angle so soon.

Here are my predictions(once again). Before I start, I want to brag about it one more time. I'm going to the GAB tomorrow, i'll be right near the aisle so I can slap some high fives. I might hold up a sign, I'm not sure. I'll remind you guys if I do.

Finlay & Hornswaggle vs. The Miz & Morrison vs. Jesse & Festus vs. Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins(Fatal-4-Way for the WWE Tag Team Championships): I sure do hope I'm wrong. The last thing I want is to see The Miz & Morrison walking out again holding the gold. I want Jesse & Festus to win the most, they're my favorite tag team(excluding the Hardy Boyz). Plus, Jesse & Festus lost to them last night on SD.

Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho: IMO, this is the most exiting match. The way they started off Raw just shows that these guys totally hate each other's guts. If Shawn Michaels loses this one, it just shows that he can't be in major competition anymore. But The last match they had, HBK won it, so I don't expect their victories over each other to be like a seasaw.

Michelle McCool vs. Natalya(Divas Championship): At this match I'm probably going to jump out of my seat and start raping them both at the same time, but that's probably not going to happen. Anyway, Natalya has been basically killing Michelle ever since they starting wrestling each other. But it would be a surprise seeing Michelle take out Natalya, although that's not too likely.

John Cena vs. JBL(NYC Parking Lot Brawl): If they don't let JBL win this, he's not going to be in the Main Events for a long time. I'm not really sure about this one either, but I am mostly routing for JBL bleeding his fucking brains out. I hate that guy, as you can see.

Tommy Dreamer vs. Mark Henry(ECW Championship): Tommy Dreamer? Beating Mark Henry? LOL. Yeah right. As much as I like the guy, Dreamer can't even beat MVP at his best. Besides, Mark Henry just won his title, he's not going to lose it now. I usually get it right for ECW matches, because they're so predictable.

CM Punk vs. Batista(World Heavyweight Championship): Seems kinda unlikey, but I can't imagine someone like CM Punk losing his title 4 weeks after he got it. If it doesn't happen, they're probably going to make Batista get a ring out count, or something shitty like that. As I said before, I can't imagine CM Punk doing the GTS to Batista.

Triple H vs. Edge(WWE Championship): Edge has no backup, while HHH has had an easy week. Now that I think about it, Vickie might screw up Edge during the match. There's no evidence of Edge winning, I don't plan on it at all either.

My predictions seem alright, but I'm afraid to change them or else it might happen. But still, a lot of the matches were kind of hard to think of, so I'm really curious to see what's going to happen. Too bad there's no Hardy Boyz, I guess I'm never going to see them live. Well whatever, at least I get to attend a PPV for the first time in my life!

You know, I like the idea of Jesse and Festus winning. As you say, they did just get pinned by the champs, which bodes well by the general rule the person getting beaten before a PPV being the winner. It would also bring back the tag titles to Smackdown, and the Edgeheads (or former Edgeheads) are already feuding with Jesse and Festus, giving us a readymade feud.
It was also allow Finlay and Horny to continue their feud with M&M.

JBL drops the crowbar and calls out Cena.

John Cena finally rams a car of his own into another car. He gets on top of JBL and beats him down. Cena has a pair of jumper cables that he uses against JBL. Cena slams JBL under the hood of a car. Cena hooks the jumper cables up to the crotch of JBL. He touches the car battery with the cables - teasing a nut shock to Bradshaw. Cena picks up what looks like a keg. He throws it into a car windshield as JBL tries to leave.

Cena slams JBL's head off the car's steering wheel. Finally JBL battles back with right hands. Cena counters at JBL to avoid letting him take control. JBL whips Cena into an open car door so hard that it falls off. JBL works Cena over who is dazed from the stiff whip. JBL continues to mount offense with hard right hands as he bangs Cena's skull off the hood of cars. The fight goes to the hood of a car where JBL hits a neckbreaker.

JBL gets a cover for a two count. JBL kicks Cena on the concrete floor. JBL throws Cena on top of a career windshield - causing it to break. He drops him for a DDT on top of the car. Bradshaw gets a two count on the concrete floor as he tells Cena to 'die' and 'quit'. Sounds like loud 'boring' chants from ringside. Bradshaw tries to hit Cena with the crowbar but Cena gets out of the way. Cena gets took down again by JBL and coughs in pain. JBL throws Cena head first through a car window - Cena isn't even bleeding?

JBL opens the career door and loads Cena into the backseat. Bradshaw opens his limousine and retrieves a gas can. His limousine driver takes his car away. The referee asks Bradshaw what he is doing. He tries to talk him out of it as JBL douses the car with gasoline. The referee begs him to stop as JBL grabs his lighter. The car is engulfed in flames as staffers extinguish it. JBL gets in a forklift.

Cena gets out of the car - unscathed - and throws JBL off another car. Cena puts JBL in the front seat of a car and gets in a forklift. Cena raises the forks and goes full speed ahead, moving the car. He lowers the forks and picks up the car. Cena, driving the forklift with the car on it, appears to be heading towards ringside. He drives the car right into the arena. The crowd seems thrilled to have the action back - Michael Cole and Lawler are back on commentary. Cena stands on top of the car and pumps the crowd. JBL rolls out of the car's front seat.

Cena works Bradshaw over on the entrance ramp. They exchange blows at the top of the ramp. Cena finally throws Bradshaw down. Cena signals for the 5 knuckle shuffle. He connects and signals for the FU. Cena gets him up but looks over at the car parked at ringside. He walks Bradshaw over towards the car but ends up getting thrown off the stage onto the windshield. JBL covers him for the three count. One of the most (if not the most) stupid thing I ever seen in all my years of wrestling.

Winner: JBL
After the match, medical staffers tend to JBL and Cena. The show Cena's elbows bleeding (how does his elbows bleed but not his head?). Lilian Garcia announces JBL as the official winner of the match as he is helped to the back. Cena finally sits up on the car windshield and checks out his elbows. He gets a chant from a few fans still paying attention. Cena's music plays as he goes to the back under his own power.

Backstage:
After a promo video recapping the disaster on SmackDown, Triple H is interviewed backstage by Eve Torres. Triple H asks her if he looks like a guy that regrets anything? He whispers 'no' as he makes his way to ringside.

WWE Championship
Triple H vs. Edge
Edge, the challenger, comes out first. Triple H comes out last with his bottle water and the WWE Championship belt around his waist. Justin Roberts does the formal in-ring introductions and we are ready to go!

Mickie Henson calls for the bell and we're underway. Edge goes after Triple H in the corner with stiff right hand. Hunter counters by sending Edge to the outside. Triple H goes to the outside and whips him into the crowd control barrier. The referee tells Hunter to bring it to the inside as Triple H assaults Edge from the apron. Triple H drops a knee to the head of Edge. Hunter works over the challenger as Edge sells a sternum first 'Bret Hart' turnbuckle.

Edge, on the outside, gets on the apron and is knocked off by Triple H. The referee starts the count out as Triple H goes over Edge on the outside. Edge starts to build a counter against Triple H after Hunter misses on a blow. Edge regroups in the ring and finally greets Hunter with stiff body shots. Edge starts to build momentum as he hits a spear and kicks Triple H in the ribs. Hunter hits with some right hands. Edge lands a kick to the midsection of Hunter. Edge throws Triple H into the corner turnbuckles. Edge goes to the outside and sets Hunter up on the apron in the ring.

Edge throws Triple H into the steel ring steps. He gets in the ring and pumps the crowd. Edge goes to the outside and slams Hunter against the apron of the ring. Edge drops Triple H face first on the announce table. Edge covers Triple H for a two count. Edge works over Triple H in the ring with a leg scissors submission maneuver in the ring. Triple H shows life but can't break the hold. Triple H tries to roll him over, he can't do it. Hunter's shoulders touched the mat momentarily, giving Edge a one count.

Triple H finally counters out with right hands. Hunter goes off the ropes but Edge counters with a dropkick and a quick cover for a one count. Triple H is out on the apron, Edge lands right hands to the face of Triple H. Edge goes off the ropes and in attempt to spear Hunter, he misses badly and goes to the outside. The referee starts to count Edge out.

Edge gets back in before getting counted out. He eats some boots to the face from Triple H. The Game continues with right hands, ducking some of Edge's attempts. Triple H sends Edge off the ropes, Edge counters, but Triple H counters with a clothesline. Edge sends Hunter off the ropes but Triple H hits a facebuster on the challenger.

Outside, Triple H works over Edge by bouncing his head off the steel steps and ring post. Hunter rolls Edge back into the ring. Edge counters with a blow and attempts a baseball slide. He doesn't connect but Edge hits a DDT on Triple H on the outside.

Referee Mickie Henson starts the double countout with both down on the outside. Edge shows life but he tries to pick up a limp Triple H. He succeeds at getting him into the ring. Edge covers Hunter for a two cout. Edge goes off the middle, misses and walks into a DDT. Hunter gets a two count. Triple H works on Edge with right hands and gets a Pedigree attempt but Edge counters with a high impact move for a two count.

Edge attempts a spear but eats turnbuckle. Triple H gets a near fall. Edge counters with a well-placed boot to the side of The Game's head. Triple H is out and Edge is down. Edge is showing movement but there is a double count out going. Edge holds himself up in the corner but he walks into a spinebuster from Triple H. Hunter goes for the Pedigree again but Edge counters out. Edge sets Triple H up on the top rope. Edge gives Hunter some headbutts. He goes for a superplex and connects!

Double count out in the ring is underway. The wedding planner Alicia Fox runs out to ringside. She grabs the WWE Championship belt and puts it in the ring. Here comes Vickie Guerrero who sends Fox to the mat on the outside. Vickie Guerrero is now in possession of the WWE title belt. Vickie gets in the ring - pushes the referee out of the way - but the wedding planner gets in the ring and attacks her.

Edge went for a spear on Alicia Fox (the wedding planner) but hit Vickie Guerrero with it instead when Fox moved! Edge, distracted, gets caught for the Pedigree by Triple H. Hunter pins Edge for the three count.

Winner: Triple H

WORST, HEEL TURN. EVER.

I guess we'll have to see where they go with it. He'd definitely hit a wall as the lovable jobber.

As for Punk, here's my thoughts:

Yay, he kept the belt!

WTF? Spinebustered then chokeslammed? Hey, how about tomorrow he can come out wearing a sign saying "I'm a bitch"? How about that? Seriously, this is not how you build him up. He retains by Kane ruining his match, and then gets dropped by both Batista and Kane. Unless they plan on him like, maybe beating one of them tomorrow, or doing something to them (how about he just surprises one or both of them in the back with a pipe or something? Don't even make it a match, just make it a "hey hey mother fuckers! I can do sneaky attacks on people too! Don't you ever fuck with me like that again!" sort of deal to get his heat back) they made him look pretty lame here and aren't doing a lot to erase the "fluke" tag.

Wow guys. What a night. I can't believe I was actually there at the GAB, if any of you saw me on camera lol.

In case you guys didn't know, there was a dark match(match before the event that doesn't go on air) with Umaga and Mr. Kennedy. I'll admit, beeing next to Umaga was somewhat scary, he twice as monster live than he is on TV. Too bad Kennedy couldn't beat him.

As for Colin....fuck. I flicked him off after he was walking back up the aisle, while he smirked at me. I felt bad for Dreamer, all he did for Colin payed off like this? Meh.

And I swear guys, CM Punk pointed to me. He was so awesome, too bad he took a big beating. Also Kane's grocery bag is weaved lol.

I gotta say, I'm quite honored to have watched HBK's last match(supposedly), but kind of shitty too. If only I could have known he was going to be gone before I took my eyes off him to do a major facepalm.

For the most part, my absolute FAVORITE match was HHH and Edge. To watch Vickie get speared right in front of me was possibly the greatest moment in my life. Now that I think of it, Vickie might turn clean. It's a good cliffhanger for this Friday.

This is what Tommy did in the real ECW too, he made the new guys look good, if that's where they're going here, then this can be good stuff.

Punk has always been...uh...interactive with his fans

"Hey you stupid bitch I'm not even holding a microphone!!"

Ah memories.

Oh come on! Do you really believe for a second HBK could have his last match without them hyping the hell out of it unless a major injury occured? (In which case they'd tell you so they could sell a million copies of the DVD), that's just a heel being a heel there.

Rumor is Taker will be back in time for Summerslam...hmmm...only one way to make that happen...

Nobody's really sure if Taker is coming back or not...I heard he's going through some personal problems or something.

But yeah lol, he's probably going to come back with the DOOOONG........DONG....

I'm a bit disappointed that Matt Hardy lost the U.S. Title so soon. I like who he lost it to, but still, I thought Matt should have held onto that belt for a bit longer. Maybe Matt could eventually go after the ECW title.

Also SD has reclaimed all its gold since the Edgeheads won the Tag Titles. I wonder if this means the merger of Raw and ECW is coming sooner than later?

I hope Punk gets some measure of revenge tonight. He's the champ damnit, he needs to be kicking ass, nt being pummeled twice in a row.

Let me get this straight...Colin Delaney, the guy who has won like two matches... tunred heel? Run that by me again? The jobber guy with the stick body tunred heel? I sure hope they do something with this other than him being a heel jobber...

According to Newsday.com reporter (and former WWE writer) Alfonso Castillo, the backstage segments of the John Cena vs. JBL "New York City Parking Lot Brawl" match at The Great American Bash were taped on Saturday night. Castillo, who attended the event, was told by a WWE cameraman that the backstage segments were taped on Saturday night.

I'm glad you guys had a good time. I'm sure I will as well on August 5th, but since I got nosebleed seats you'll never see me. :P

I'm looking forward to Raw. I hope we get to find out what Kane has tonight. And I also want Punk to kick some ass.

I wonder what Jericho will do now? Think his fued with HBK is over for the time being or will it keep right on going? Who will Kofi Kingston fued with for the IC title?

You'd think he would take time off to sell the eye injury. But saying that, I don't agree with them taking someone off air unless they have some other injury or problem they need to sort out.
They could keep him on air I guess.

Who will Kofi Kingston fued with for the IC title?

It was looking to be Burchill after the past few weeks.

I hope they resolve the Kane thing this week.

You'd think wouldn't you? But I've heard that it's 09 at least!

Confused? Yeah, me too. Only thing I can think is WWE just doesn't want those belts on ECW, which I can respect. In both cases the guys who got those belts needed them, but it does seem weird timing wise with the merger not on the near horizon.

Far as what mothballs said about Taker. Dude, I've said it a million times in here, and I'll say it a million more, there are only two or three reputable wrestling news sites:

PWInsider
Pro Wrestling Observer
Pro Wrestling Torch (but they have horrible ethics)

If it comes from a site other then these? It's liably stealing from one of the three (and even then, PWInsider sometimes gets ripped off by the other two) or it's just some kid who's making things up to see how many folks they can fool.

If you really love this business, even if you love it but can't really watch it anymore, you can't go wrong with PWInsider Elite account, it is a fantastic value and I believe it's worth every penny.

GO D-LO! When his music hit that got my attention right away. Man it has been forever since I heard that theme music and the funy thing is it brought me back to the attitude era. Seeing him do that frog splash again was great.

Main event was eh...I would have liked to have less damn interferance and get a clean finish once in a while...Man I hate JBL.
