I have to say, this draft was certainly odd. For those of you who don't kno, this is pretty much who went where:

Raw:
Rey Mysterio
CM Punk
Michael Cole
Batista
Kane

Smackdown:
Jeff Hardy
Umaga
Mr. Kennedy
Triple H

ECW:
Matt Hardy

ECW got robbed this year, but I've got to say that it really was THE most craziest draft, or even SHOW, I have ever seen.

Also what the hell was the end all about? Vince Mcmahon had another thing happen to him. God, he's too old for this shit.

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2008-06-23 23:24:47

Oh and I forgot to add, Jim Ross went to Smackdown. I hate his voice.

Agreed, you just had someone die not more then a week or two back in a accident similar to this. Yes, it was another company, but still. Not to mention the horrible crap that happened last year. I'm fine with the idea of someone getting hurt in a worked situation, but it shouldn't be in a way that mirrors a real life accident that took someone's life, especially so short an amount of time.

Otherwise this was a great draft. Major names shifted between both shows, an equal amount of draft picks were passed between the big two, and it really looked in many ways like ECW was being effectively used as a minor league system to the big brands, as it should be. I didn't turn the channel at the end this year feeling like "omg, this show blew and SD! got raped" as I have in prior years

i haven't been watching or keeping up with the WWE (Raw/SD/ECW) but my thing has always been that getting tossed to SD is usually bad. i might be wrong or right but that's how i feel. Jim Ross won't sounds the same on SD. tho, Umaga on SD i can believe. he's losing his gimmick as the "unstoppable" bulldozerand deserves to be on the SD chopping block.

and just what was up with that lame stunt at the end of the show?
classic Raw ending, it is.

Go to WWE.com for awesome lols. They updated all the rosters and Kane is listed as the top champion on RAW, the ECW title is the top belt on the top brand in WWE! H is listed as a secondary champion to Edge on SD!. Check this out before night of champions when they do title switches to get things back to the way they want them

And Matt Hardy sure looks lonely on the ECW page.
It looks like there's going to be a ridiculous amount of title changes at the next PPV if they want to get all the titles on the right brands. I could see Edge losing and HHH becoming number one on SD!
And maybe Taker returning on Raw.

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2008-06-24 08:24:37

With the title situation all messed up like this it makes me think there will be a lot of title changes at Night of Champions. Either Batista or Cena are going to win their title match to bring/keep the title to their brand. Kane is a tricky one since ECW is going to be merged with Raw, so he might keep it until that happens.

Chavo came out representing ECW last night so even if he wins it is he still an ECW guy or would he go to SD?

From what I understand, no one except Vince and the writers knew who was going to where, including the announcers. So when JR and Cole swapped positons they were indeed shocked.

As for the end.. Vince just really wanted to do a death angle so badly that he is trying again a year after his limo blew up. Yeah its now a severe injury thing but almost the same thing. End result is him being away from TV for a while.

If Vince does indeed stay of TV, who will run Raw? Will Shane or another McMahon appoint a GM?

I enjoyed RAW last night, some expected and some unexpected moves.
NoC should be interesting.

Obviously either Batista or Cena are going to win, to give RAW a top tier belt back. Big Show beats kane to take the ECW belt back to ECW. Having it on RAW would be completley insane in my opinion and demeen it even more than it already has been.

It's a shame to see Matt drafted to ECW, I was looking forward to some classic Hardy Boyz on Smackdown. Because of this, I have a feeling that Chavo might beat Matt, taking the title back to SD!. It dosen't make any sense to have two titles on ECW, when there current roster is as bad as it is. They were completley fucked over in the draft.

JR and Foley I can see working well together, it'll be interesting to see how RAW goes without Ross. Did anyone else notice he looked VERY pissed about it? Did someone mention earlier only Vince and his bookers new how things were going down? Also, when do the suplemental draft picks take place?

Well, Chavo is technically also on ECW, so it's irrelevant who wins at NOC, the US title will stay on ECW.

That's what I heard. He did look actually pissed off after he heard, and looked reluctant to move over to the other table. Plus, Cole and The King looked totally shocked too. I think this is just another case of Vince fucking with JR for fun.
At least he's a professional, and however he deals with this should be professional too.

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2008-06-24 18:40:55

JR posted a blog saying he was indeed shocked and unhappy, as he told management after the show. He even contemplated quitting and calling it a career right then and there, but has decided he will be a pro and work SD!. He has however said he won't go to stamford to do overdubs for the show. This was a pretty jerky move by WWE though to just lowball Ross here, especially when RAW is in Oklahoma next week, and sponsored by his restaurant.

They just love to mess with good ol' JR don't they? I haven't heard anything about a possible supplemental draft like they have done in the past, so it will be very interesting to see how these changes to the rosters will play out. ECW should be interesting since it's champ is now on Raw.

Seems there will be a supplemental draft. They had it go across the bottom of the screen during ECW tonight. So things are not done yet, and nothing is set in stone.

ECW was alright tonight. Opening tag match was good, as well as the match between Kofi and Benjamin. Some of those hits they took looked brutal.

Why did they have Bourne loose? People had responded very well to him so why not give him a winning streak? WWE sure is fickle sometimes.

I wonder where Stevie is? I hope he isn't hurt again.

The supplemental draft is tomorrow at noon. I think it's just to move mid-carders around and they'll leave all the major changes from Monday alone.

That is my main guess. Lets hope ECW can get some picks this time around. Some new faces here and there will be a good change.

Maybe Carlito will get his wish and be moved to SD.

Mark Henry has been added into the title match and been drafted to ECW. Therefore he's my pick for winning the match.

I think he'll just be fodder for Big Show to pin so Kane can be kept strong going onto Raw.

And now ECW lost Kofi Kingston to RAW (Also lost Layla to RAW). Why not just come out and say that ECW will no longer be a brand?

This draft is starting to seem a little pointless to me. Watching ECW, I'm seeing CM Punk, who's a Raw superstar, as well as being promised to see Kane, also a Raw superstar. Obviously with the titles mixed about, this could be classed as necessary until NoC. However, after that I'd like to see superstars remaining on there own brands, otherwise the entire idea of different brands becomes, to me, pointless.

If WWE want to do a cross-brand fued, no problem, but matches for the sake of matches, bah.

I stopped reading there.

But in any case, I know this subject was touched upon earlier, but it WOULD be kind of interesting to see Triple H retain at NoC and have Edge lose the championship. .1% chance of that happening, but hey, one of those two has to lose a title to a RAW 'rassler, so why not?

It's a developmental territory with tv. That's all it is, that's all it should be viewed as, and I don't have a problem with that if they stick to that idea and use it as such.

Moving Kofi scares me because he's still a bit green, and I think he was the guy you leave in ECW to fill Punk's top face role as he improves and learns in front of a smaller audience. This feels like a situation where we're gonna be looking back at this in a few months and going "boy, if only they'd left him alone and not exposed him on RAW"

I also believe Mark Henry was drafted and added so he can bring the ECW title back to the brand.

What'll be interesting is whether or not H or Edge jobs their belt. I'm on the record as saying I always feel like the WWE tag titles and WWE title should be on the same brand, if they are doing a hard split, or ECW becomes RAW's little buddy instead of SD!'s, then I think Cena should go over, I think there's potential in that if he transitions the belt then to Jericho, it'll seem somewhat fresh, and it'll test how much of a heel jericho truly is. I like the idea of H and Edge for SS with H chasing Edge, I think that could be very good, especially if they decide to return Taker to SD! and then he can be added to that mix and we can get alternate combinations of H vs. Taker, H vs. Edge, Edge vs Taker, three ways, for months. So I think H really needs to show the world that he is going to be a company guy and let the WWE title go. Plus, it recreates what I perceive as the logical idea of the World belt and World tag belts on one side, and the WWE belt, and WWE tag belts on another...theoretically...I guess they'd need to get rid of the world tag belts to SD! somehow...shit, I didn't think this out too well in the end did I? Lol

So.. ECW has no top stars to its name other than...Mark Henry... Matt Hardy now looks to be the top face on that brand. He and Finley are the only faces ECW got, and they lost far more then they gained. Yeah ECW is only an hour long and can't effectivly use all of its talent so I can understand that, but stranding them is no good either.

They weren't stranded if you look at them as a developmental group. In that respect ECW did what it's supposed to do: had all of it's useful and ready (cept for Kofi) guys drafted away, so they could get 2 coach type guys (Hardy and Finlay) and one guy to carry their belt and be a monster (Henry).

ECW is not a third brand, it is not equal to RAW and SD!, it is a step up from FCW and a feeder system to the higher two brands.

What I find odd is that Chavo is still considered a member of ECW, so even if he wins at the PPV, the US title presumably stays on that show. I wonder if SD will have a new title to replace it.. Oh right.. That diva title or whatever...Not the best of replacemtns.

Maybe Vicki trades a few people to get Chavo back on SD! and reunite the family, therefore taking with him the US title. It could explain ECW's rapeage in the draft, Teddy's gonna make Vicki shell out half a dozen guys if she want's Chavo back.

Or maybe WWE just dosen't give two shits about EC fucking W ;)

We have a winner. I think this is just a case of WWE booking things however they want, regardless of if it contradicts other things.
I mean, Miz and John Morrison are the SD tag team champions right? (That's what it says on the website) But Miz and John Morrison are ECW wrestlers, and regardless, the tag titles still stay on Smackdown's superstars page, whereas all the titles which were drafted with a wrestler were moved to other brands' superstar pages.

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2008-06-26 13:57:36

Here are my predictions. Before I say them, I would like to inform you that this PPV is probably gonna suck major donkey ballz. Predictions are bolded.

Matt Hardy vs. Chavo Guerrero(United States Championship): Hey, what do you know, two ECW superstars fighting for a SD title. Excluding his match on the draft, Matt Hardy showed us a tremendous winning streak and dominance. I don't think Chavo has a chance. They might also put the US title on ECW. They might as well, ECW is getting ass raped.

John Morrison & The Miz vs. Finlay & Hornswaggle(WWE Tag Team Championship): I can't believe it myself that I'm putting my money on Finlay and Hornswaggle, but I have this feeling deep inside. Plus, John Morrison & The Miz pretty much had the titles long enough. Wait a second. FOUR MORE ECW SUPERSTARS fighting for a SD title! Looks like ECW is about to get more titles than SD. This is getting sad.

Katie Lea Burchill vs. Mickie James(Women's Championship): I got a boner just THINKING of these girls wrestling each other. Jesus Christ, I don't know how I'm going to go through this match without cumming all over the television. Oh god I'm rambling on again about my sexual fantasies. Ahem. Well, Layla has just gotten drafted to Raw and I see Mickie losing it to her after a few times. The undefeated streaks of women always end at PPVs when fighting for the title.

Ted Dibiase & ??? vs. Cody Rhodes & Hardcore Holly(World Tag Team Championships): I always knew that the World Tag Team Championships almost never get won at PPVs. Besides, this son of Ted Dibiase never wrestled a match, may I also include that he is a faggot. I really don't want to go on about this match, it's making me sick just thinking about it.

Kane vs. Big Show vs. Mark Henry(ECW World Title): I must say, ECW is the most predictable shit i've ever watched. Mark Henry hasn't done much anything in his career yet he's named the "World's Strongest Man". I just know he's going to win, besides, Kane is on Raw, Big Show's on SD, and Mark Henry is the only one to bring home the title.

Edge vs. Batista(World Heavyweight Championship): Batista has never beaten Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship, and I especially don't expect him to win it now that he's on Raw. As I said before, Edge is a great competitor, and while he has Vickie on his side just makes him even stronger.

John Cena vs. HHH(WWE Championship): I have so many reasons to think this way. First of all, Cena is MUCH better than Triple H, I don't care what anyone says. Second of all, he's the champ, man! He hasn't had it for a long time now, either. Third of all, HHH had enough time being champion, as we said before, they basically changed the Fatal Four Way at Backlash to elimination in favor of Triple H. Fourth and most important, Triple H has just been drafted to Smackdown, and the title must go back to Raw, unless they plan on having Batista win it and HHH keep it so that the world titles can switch brands again, like they did before, but I really doubt that's going to happen.

Well, those are my predictions. To be honest, I didn't feel to confindent making them, I really don't know how this PPV is going to turn out. Hopefully it'll turn out good, but so far it doesn't look that exciting.
