Bryan Alvarez is reporting that Smackdown superstar Batista is scheduled to take a leave of absense from the company shortly. It is not believed to be a Wellness Policy related issue. The word is that he may be out until around Summerslam time.

What are your thoughts on this?

Maybe he just needs some time off. It is a stressful job and he might be burned out or may have some minor injuries he wants to heal. Could be a number of things, but hey, at least it isn't a known wellness offense....yet.

This does just prompt Umaga to be moved. It will be some interesting matches between Taker and him.

Undertaker should come to ECW, where he can team with Kane to dominate all other tag teams.

Uhh.. Damn. Orton simply fucked-up his collarbone in the LMS.

Also, Edge won. Seriously!

Damn I was a little disappointed in this PPV but It had a good start. the Umaga/Jeff Hardy match was pretty good, especially when he did the Swanton Bomb off the truck. And the Cena/JBL match was entertaining as well (I laughed when JBL grabbed the whip and King said "who does he think he is? Indiana Jones?). But a couple of matches were lacking. I'm glad Triple H won considering I've been his fan since 1999 (yes, even when he was a big time heel) and I hope he holds onto the title for a while.

But I don't like how they made Taker lose. And I'm a little confused as to why Kane didn't come out to help him considering it was basically a 5 on 1 match and they usually help each other out. I really hope this isn't the last match of the Undertaker because if it is, then it is a huge disappointment. Plus now every week on Smackdown we're gonna hear Edge brag about how he "retired" the Undertaker. I really hope Taker comes on Smackdown and chokes them all out :P

Oh well, at least The Game is still that... damn... good!

Taker will be back, and Orton broke his left collarbone, that is official. I was tired of the Orton/H series, and I don't much care for Orton but...damn, I don't wish harm on ANYBODY in the business or anything like that.

Not much else happened on this show that you couldn't see coming, I do think the Orton injury will convince WWE to drop this show though as H's quad injury I'm sure was a factor in dropping NYR. It's just common sense though that the more you put these guys into a ring the higher the risk they will get seriously hurt.

I thought that was just an angle. Oh shit so he really broke it? I read it was when he was going for the RKO and HHH threw him out of the ring. I thought it was an angle because usually they would end the match after someone sustains an injury like that. Plus Triple H was in the ring basically celebrating that he "took Orton out". Maybe H doens't even know what happened until they went backstage :o

And I really hope Taker does come back. I honestly think he will. But look at what happened with Ric Flair :(

Undertaker will be back. I'm sure at some point soon, the champion on either Raw or SD will be in the ring, and the lights will cut and we'll hear the gong. Why can't Undertaker just have a decent title reign? Will he come back for Edge, or move on to Raw?

Tough break for Orton. He has been in the main event scene for a while though, so this will be a good chance for him to rest up, and comeback strong.

So who should Trips feud with now?

Sucks about Orton getting hurt. At least he was able to finish the match. It will probably be a few month before he can come back.

The PPV didn't really offer much suprise huh? Most of the winner predictions done here came true. The only eception would be the Taker/Edge match. I wonder how they will do this situation. Maybe Taker's name will be entered into the draft, or maybe if they make Teddy Long the Raw GM, he re-hires Taker to the Raw brand.

I thought ONS was definatley one of the better PPV's this year, falling behind the big two (which was inevitable).

The Hardy/Umaga match was good, Hardy sliding down the rail and the finish of course. I'll come back to Jeff towards the end of this post.

The singapore cane match was among the best of the night for me. All five guys seemed to really go for it, and I litterally gasped when Morrison flew out the ring and Show hit him. The result was inevitable, as was Dreamer being the one beaten. Seriously, WWE seem to hate him. He's ALWAYS loosing. Punk had an ok showing though. Roll on draft time.

Cena/JBL wasn't to bad, although I don't really care for either of them. With Taker gone for a while and the draft coming up, does anyone see Cena going to SD!? I know, I know, the B show and everything, but I think it could be good for him. Some fresh fueds, his matches with Edge were ok back in the day... JBL meanwhile can go back to the midcard. If Cena dosen't go to SD!, move JBL and Punk there. They can fued with Punk coming out on top of course :)

Diva match next? Skipped.

Batista/Michaels was excellent, but a little confusing. I fully expected Dave to start kicking crap outta Jericho at one point. Regardless, I really enjoyed the match and am interested to see where they go with this next. What with Jericho's involvement, I don't see this being over.

HHH/Orton, the outcome was predictable. It's a shame to here about Orton, I really like him as a wrestler. Obviously I'd have much prefered it not to happen. Every cloud has a silver lining though and this could open up the door for someone else. Now, knowing WWE they'll simply revert back to Cena and anyone who's anyone will hate it. Think for a second WWE. Theres so many guys you could use here, espesially with the draft. Off the top of my head, Punk, Umaga, Undertaker, Kennedy, Batista, Jericho, Michaels. Or. Jeff Hardy. My pick. Yes, he's fucked up, but as I've stated before, plenty of people have. Give him the title. I think you'll be suprised that he'll stay clean with it and then afterwards. Face it, he's one of the most popular faces, completley over with the fans. They would love it. H and Hardy worked well together late 2007, they can do it again mid 2008. For the love of fuck, please don't go back to HHH/Cena.

Taker/Edge, I was shocked. I really didn't expect Taker to loose. I kept thinking as Edge got closer. Somethings gonna happen. Off go the lights, Taker's on the ladder, chokeslams Edge off and grabs the belt. Still, I have no doubt he'll be back, and I suppose this way we get a break from Edge v's Taker, which couldn't have happened if Taker won because of Vicki.

My quick thoughts on ONS.

That aspect I love, I love Edge's heel work, and really? Needs the belt more then Taker, and there's more potential babyfaces he can work as challengers then Taker had heels.

Oh well, I'm sure Taker will be back after a few months. Note how they never really said he'd be retiring, but he'd be 'banished', meaning he'll probably return at some point down the line to get revenge on Edge/Vickie.

I've heard possibly SS, or after Survivor Series, with Summerslam more likely. Taker was looking to take time off, probably just to keep the character fresh, so here we are.

I can see why WWE did it, they want the Night of Champions show to have something big to draw, and with the draft, a lot of stuff is in a holding pattern till they figure out exactly who they want to flip where.

I'd class HHH/Hardy as a bigger draw than HHH/Cena, but I guess the WWE don't. Or a majority of the audience for that matter.

I did see Estrada was replaced by Long...Tad weird considerign that Raw has no GM while ECW was doing fine in that reguard.

I also signed up for that money giveaway. I'll never win but whatever.

Kane whooped CM Punk, Miz and Morrison came in at the end to jump Kane (so now we know who Kane is going to be facing next week), there was a fatal 4 way in the beginning between CM Punk, Tommy Dreamer, Chavo, and Shelton, CM Punk won that. Armando had a match with someone, I forgot who and he lost it, then Teddy came out and gave him another match between him and Colin, which he lost. I don't really like RAW, it's kind of boring. But this week I'm gonna see if I can win that million dollars, I signed up on WWE.com and everything.

ON A SECOND NOTE: Is anyone here a member of the WWE fan nation?

He won the four-way, then lost to Kane... But what stood out for me was the how the fans slowly but surely started to get behind him once they realized that Kane wasn't gong to just squash him. I'll say it again, its completely baffling to see a dude that's booked so poorly, yet he STILL manages to get the fans behind him.

Not only that, Kane had his best singles match in a long time against Punk. I just don't get how the higher-ups can completely ignore this.

I gotta think it's like RVD, you have people there who either watched him in ROH and elsewhere, so they understand how talented he is (or they've gotten tapes or DVDs), or it's just that Punk looks and acts differently then a lot of other characters on that roster. He sort of evokes an MMA, "This is real" element. MVP has some of that too, both those guys are the type that WWE supposedly always says they want. The guys who when they get in the back or get time off don't just go play video games or do other stuff, they are watching the rest of the show, they're watching tapes, they're committed to their business and their craft.

Not only that, Kane had his best singles match in a long time against Punk. I just don't get how the higher-ups can completely ignore this.

Oh, I agree, I don't think it's fair to say Kane just killed Punk. He beat on him yes, but Punk got quite a few hope spots and was even somewhat in control at times. What I don't understand is we have Big Show with bone fractures and shit in his face, that doesn't mean he'll miss the PPV, but hey, it COULD, so why aren't they booking that match last night for Punk to win. Then you can say "Punk has a win over the champion, that puts him in line for a shot" don't say it's at NOC, just say "he's in line for a shot" then you can either have him use it at NOC if Show is hurt, or if you need to do a three way or something to protect Show and his injuries. If you don't? Then you can give Punk a title match later and elevate him based on that. I don't understand why he gets beat clean, and then Miz and Morrison attack. Hey, even if you didn't want to put him over, why couldn't Miz and Morrison interrupt, then you can revisit Kane and Punk working together because Miz and Morrison ruined they're match, and Punks chance at climbing the ladder to a title shot.

The only reason I've ever heard for Vince and crew not being behind Punk (and it's super lame) is that they see him as a "King of the indies" and they don't like having guys on the roster that people think are stars that WWE didn't tell the audience are stars. Goes back to that obsession with control of all aspects of their business, and treating the fans as just slaves who should buy and believe whatever their told to.

I always felt JBL was dramatically over-pushed. Especially because he sucks up to Vince and he was given a character that Vince sees himself as to a large degree.

JBL was fine in a mid-card role, but he was bullshit and a bust to me as the WWE champ as he never got a single credible or clean win, and I hate that shit personally. You can be a heel and still get the occasional clean win. But ever since he's come back from his back injury he's been crap. His promos have been horrible rambling affairs, his work has been slow and boring. No, JBL is right where he should be, and is probably even a bit overpushed at this point as he just in no way merits a shot at headliner anything.

I've never been a JBL fan. I thought he was ok during his APA days, but other than that he's really not all that good. He just makes me want him to shut up for the most part.

Sucks to hear that Big Show got hurt. I wonder if his nose was weakened when Floyed broke it before Mania? At least CM won the Fatal Four Way, so at least his credibility to win is still somewhat there. Yeah he lost to Kane but you could argue the fact that he had a match before so he wasn't at 100%.
