Undoubtedly. It makes sense this way anyway. What would be the point of Edge being tight with the GM if he couldn't get her to do things for him? If he dropped out of the ME picture, it would be nonsensical.

Looks like that we will get a gimmick match at JD between Taker and Edge. (Hopefully the last one) I am all for a HIAC match to end the feud. Who else think that Taker should tombstone Vickie after the match at JD and put her on the shelf?

Taker and Edge in a Hell in the Cell would be awesome. I think it would be a first for Edge. That would be the appropriate way to end their fued. And yes I hope Taker tombstones Vicky too.

OMFGMICKFOLEYREPLACESCOACHBBQ!!!!ONE!!!!
!ELEVEN!!!!!!!!!! ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ If I were one to actually get excited about something to that point, I would've shit my pants, hands-down. :P

I should've figured Coach was getting the boot; I kept hearing about how 'Team Cole' went from 1st Place in Commentary to 2nd-to-last, which is definitely not good for SD ratings. Awesome choice in replacement; Foley did a great job last night.

Why is it that no one learns not to screw with Taker? YOU THINK HE'D REALLY LISTEN TO VICKIE & NOT DO THE LETHAL CHOKEHOLD TO ANYONE ELSE? Moron.

Oh, about TNA: THERE ARE BRAINS ON THEIR CREATIVE TEAM. They did realize that Awesome Kong could pull of inter-sex matches, and they ACTUALLY took advantage of it. Good call.

As part of me doesn't want to see Love or Sky get shaved bald, they are the bitches.....or as Cornet said, 'bimbos'. :P Oh well, can't win 'em all. I see the ladder match part end up between one of them & Roxxie (who's a damn good wrestler). In speaking of the Knockouts, Daisy's HOT. ^_^ But the cheerleader is just a Victoria wannabe - I swear that was the Widow's Peak she did.

I'm guessing it'll be ODB getting her head shaved. Its not like she'll get any uglier >_>

Cheerleader Melissa > Victoria. Hell, she's better than a lot of dudes in the current wrestling scene. And the finisher she used was the Kudo Driver/Vertebreaker.. Its actually a move used by Homicide (The Gringo Killa).

If I recall correctly, Vickie said that Taker would have hell to pay before stripping his title which indicated that it is going to be a HIAC match at JD.

I liked the idea of the angle I guess, but the execution was nonsense, let's review why:

I am looking out for the superstars: AND IT DOESN'T COME OFF LIKE SHE'S FULL OF SHIT!!!! Vickie looked pained to be taking the belt off Taker, that was just a bad call. If Vickie was seriously concerned about the well-being of the talent, why the hell wasn't she banning that choke at the beginning of her tenure as GM? She's been in charge for months now, and Taker has been doing that move for months, why not ban it earlier? This was played really incorrectly and something that should be done next week as like Vickie and Edge laughing at that speech in the back and making it clear Vickie did it for her boyfriend so it makes sense again.

This just seems like a theme for WWE this week as they try to create controversy and anger to get the fans to tune in next week just to figure out what is gonna happen next. Don't think it's gonna work out too well for 'em as the ECW angle no one care about, the RAW thing just pissed folks off, and the SD! angle was confusing and pissed people off.

By the way, I've been watching old DVD's of CM Punk in FIP and ROH.

Turn him heel WWE, turn him heel now, he'd be right up there with Edge in no time I think.

I was a fan before of his work, now I think I'm officially a mark for him. I admit it, so keep that in mind when I give my opinions on him in the future.

Which to me means that while you should take what a mark for a guy or promotion says with a grain of salt, it dosen't necessarily mean the mark is wrong.

Good. People need to realize that when the indy fanboys say that CM Punk is great, they're not lying. He really was that good as a heel. Don't know if you've seen it, but if you can try and find the promo after he won the ROH title. He went from being loved to being hated in a matter of seconds.

I've never seen Punk's earlier work. I just became a fan of his through what I've seen on WWE, and also what I have heard. Yeah that makes me the typical WWE viewer, but whatever. What does he do as a heel that makes him so effective?

My friend Summer and I have a joke where whenever we see an awesome finisher, we go "That shit would be MANSLAUGHTER on concrete!", because thats the first thing I yelled when I saw CM do the PP for the first time.

He does a lot of what Edge has been doing. He's cocky, he preaches that because he lives straight edge, he's better then everyone else. He also employs some of what Steve Corino did, where he'll cut a promo like "I'm a wrestler, I don't brawl, I don't cheat, I want a scientific match!" then he'll get it, and he'll pull wire or some other gimmick out to cheat with. He has no respect for anybody whatsoever, and he has attacked and beaten up several legends like Steamboat and Funk.

His Pepsi Plunge is insane! I saw him give one to Samoa Joe and it was amazing!! Screw you H, Punk does it better :).

Right now Pep, I'm watching him and Ace Steel vs. Aries and Strong. The next match on this DVD is his and Joe's third meeting, does he win the title then? Or was it earlier? If you can remember the show, that'd help cause I'd be very interested in seeing that.

Nah, he won the title after his trilogy against Joe. The show was Death Before Dishonor III. If you can't find the show or the match, just let me know and I'll see if I can get it to you through... Uhh, nefarious means >_>

Just caught up on this weeks three shows, barring Taker's match on SD!. Missed them cause of GTA.
A bit "meh", in my opinion.

RAW was ok, but like it's been said, Punk should be where Kennedy is.
Good to see Kennedy back though, and his segment with Regal was great. Enjoyed London and Kendricks match. Murdoch singing was... an experience. Trips/Orton was meh. Seen it before, but watchable. Finish I didn't like. I see why they did it but still... Fans still can't accept the crossface being used either.

ECW was ok, despite it being only three matches? Punk/Palumbo was ok, but whats punk doing wrestling Chuck. While no jobber... He's still not in the upper midcarders league. Tommy/Knox was dissapointing. Hoping for better during the extreme rules match next week. Kane/Chavo&Co wasn't bad. Wish Kane would fued with someone else though. No disrespect to Chavo, but they seem to only able to have the same match every time they wrestle.

Smackdown, the first two title matches were good. MVP/Hardy for obvious reasons, and the tag team match was the best of the week in my opinion. Shame about the result, would love to see Shannon and Yang as champions. Gonna watch Taker/Khali now. Shame about him getting stripped of the belt. Wheres my Umaga fued, fuck off Khali >:(

Scheduled for tonight's RAW:

- Vince McMahon will open the show by addressing William Regal ending the show abruptly last week.

- CM Punk vs. Randy Orton

- Ken Kennedy's punishment for crashing William Regal's coronation last week.

- Roddy Piper will be a guest on Carlito's Cabana.

Boooooo at Vinny Mac coming back. YAY for Orton vs Punk. At least this time when he looks like a bitch, he'll be doing it against a former WWE champion instead of you know... Chuck Palumbo.

Thanks pep, I found it. I also grabbed a copy of the Pure Title tournament (I heard there was some controversy in the finish there, and I KNOW Punk beat AJ in the rematch...stupid steamboat...) and his match with Terry Funk, and a Best Of on the Second City Saints, which has his first ROH Tag Title win.

I was surprised that I heard some face pops when Vinny came out.

You really need to quite whinning about CM Punk being a bitch against high profile stars. The match was inclusive which is as great as CM Punk can get. There is no way that he will go over the No.1 conteder of RAW.
- Ken Kennedy's punishment for crashing William Regal's coronation last week.

So KK is a face now, I wonder how that will pan out.

- Roddy Piper will be a guest on Carlito's Cabana.

Cabana was a good show, I am glad that it came back.

Personally, I think that Punk should start from beating midcard wrestlers from SD! and RAW. We both know that he was not booked as a strong and powerful wrestler before he won the briefcase. So he needs to start from beating some midcarders in higher shows to prove his credibility before he can toe to toe against the likes of Edge and Orton.

Raw was pretty good last night. Regal is really getting some steam as the power trip he's on is approved by Vince.

Punk vs Orton was good until they dimmed the lights.

I like how they are playing up the fact that people hate the current ECW commentator.

All I can say is that if the ECW roster had lost that ME, I would have been uber pissed. But it turned out decent so I can't copmplain too much.

Yea...no matter how powerful H and KK are built, having them go over the entire ECW roster will make ECW a joke.

Agreed, but they've already killed any and all intrigue for that angle too. ECW is just the land of nothing changes or matters.

RAW was also godawful this week to me. It's bullshit to jerk around your TV audience like they're doing. It just makes people say to themselves "why the hell should I care, because they can just stop any match they want, so there's no point getting into stuff". This dosen't make me want to see Regal get his friggin come uppence, this just makes me want to change the channel and wait until this latest stupid WWE idea has run it's fucking course.

From that standpoint yes, you are very right. But I do think its an interesting way to show how a character has power. Unlike the traditional way of doing it, like being on an undefeated streak or being a champion, they have Regal in a position where he can control the entire show. It's different for a normal wrestler. Yeah its regal doing a Vince impression, but it's still interesting.

Im with you on that one, Avie. As much as I like Regal, I hate the way theyre trying to get him the cheapest of cheap heat. I mean, the guy is comedy and the guy can work on the stick, hes proven that long ago, but the "Geniuses" in booking are trying to get heat for him cheap, easy, and ASAP, which results in ABYSMAL heel angles and mediocre matches rather than letting him steadily build into the heel and the threat hes done for himself in the past.

That pisses me off and the program hes working with KK is pissing me off, do to the fact that Kennedy is more over than CM Punk is, CM Punk has the MITB and needs the push more, and I know Ive said it a million times on this thread but goddamn it, CM vs Regal wouldve been an EPIC FEUD.

If I said it once Ive said it a thousand times... GODDAMN THOSE FUCKING IDIOTS BOOKING THESE SUB-PAR ANGLES.

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2008-05-08 14:06:40

In the end, it's Vince's bad idea. Because nothing gets on that show unless Vince ok's it.

Like I've said, I can applaud trying something a little different, but this is just a bad idea, I changed the channel right around the main event because it's just so predictable what would happen. Plus, I just hate the idea of watching a match, getting into it, and then Regal can just switch it off. It's cheap, and it gives me the wrong kind of heat, it's not "oh I want to see him get his" heat it's "jesus christ stop this fucking stupidity!" heat. The ratings in the quarter hours were slightly down again, so it looks like I'm not the only one. Again, why would I pay to watch any of this at this point when you know what? Regal could easily do this on PPV too if he wants to, and if he doesn't? It becomes even more stupid and illogical.

I am hoping for a tournament this Friday on SD! to decide who will face Taker at JD. Of course Edge is going to win because he will either be plugged in the last second or gets the easiest way to the final. Still, we may see Matt Hardy vs MVP 3, those two know how to have a great match.

ECW the other night was an example of what ECW should be like week in week out. Every match dosen't have to be extreme rules, but throw one in there every two weeks or so, get some half-decent fueds and storylines going and you'll have a show that people other than only the most hardcore of wrestling fans are going to watch.

First match, Dreamer/Knox in an extreme rules match. Good. First time i've heard the fans chanting ECW in a long, long time. Shades of the old ECW, although obviously not as extreme. Still, it showed diversity from the other brands. For me it's a good selling points. "Watch us, we put hardcore matches on (which we know 99% of you love) whereas the other two brands don't".

Next up, Koffi/Striker. Keep Koffi strong by having him defeat Striker in quick time, he's definatley one for the future (if ECW has a future). Then bring in Shelton, suprise attack, bang, good fued. Keep that going, put 'em in an extreme rules match. Maybe give Koffi his first loss because of Sheltons heavy use of weapons. Fued can continue. Koffi out for revenge (in the good guy way), cocky Shelton bragging, etc, etc.

Then, Delaney/Armado. Felt they could have kept this match going a little longer. Have the GM really lay into Colin and eventually he gets the sneaky roll up. Over too fast for me. Still, maybe Colin can actually start doing something now he has a contract. Maybe give the kid some music and a few moves as well.

Finally, a decent tag team match. Punk and Kane work well together, and it keeps the Chavo angle going. Show ends with a Punk-Kane/Morrison-Miz stand off. Another possible fued that could really work. Hell you could even throw Chavo and Bam in there if you wanted. Three teams fighting for the tag belts, as well as the fact that Punk, Chavo, Miz and Morrison all have there eyes on Kanes belt. Not to mention Punk's briefcase, possibly causing tension between Punk and Kane.

In my opinion, the WWE has the chance for three good fueds on ECW, two of which there starting to get underway. They can put on some good matches, espesially if they use the extreme rules a little more often, and actually start to make something of the brand.
